33-year-old Australian actor Travis Fimmel recently visited The Hollywood Reporter's video lounge to talk about season one of The History Channel's hit show 'Vikings' and what viewers can expect from the future.

choosing this guy to play Ragnar was one of the most important choices in the series
He is the character lol
@@ramansarma8717 he means the actor was perfect for the part. There's something about him. He's such a unique character, he's smart and yet he also portrays a "savage" human well
Imdb states that the producers of the show actually wanted to kill Ragnar off very early into the seasons but they loved the actor so much they decided to continue his arc.
The show lived and died with him, I'm not sure I would've bothered with the show at all even from season 3 on if not for just wanting to see more of ragnar. I barely survived season 5, probably won't bother with season 6.
You can literally feel the strength and knowledge of Ragnar without him saying a word.
He's so calm. He talks so calmly. His voice is so soothing. It's all so... aaww

Never heard of the majority of these actors, where have they been hiding? I will miss all, even Judith, Rollo, King Egbert. Travis and Lagertha, Bjorn, precious Floki and Helga, poor blonde son (bad Ivar), all of them. I will miss them. Unbelievable and Torvi, adventurers. I ❤ them.

The world's finest male specimen to ever walk this earth! Best character representation EVER! The guy who does Rollo is the 2nd finest male specimen. The lady who does Lagertha is gorgeous and I am so jealous. Everything about this show is brilliant!!

Somehow, i relate to this guy. Always chill and maybe a bit "shy". Amazing actor. Seems so different from Ragnar. Truly amazing representation of a famous character. Btw, i´m norwegian. Vikings and SOA is by far some of the best shows out there.
