He is a terrific actor (acts with his eyes) and I think his down-to-earth attitude and humility and deep-rooted talent will get him VERY far in acting. He reminds me of Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and whatnot. I hope I see more of him as talent like his is very rare.
He WAS Ragnar, he didn’t “play” him. He brought him to life and created one of the best characters on TV I’ve ever seen.

When Ragnar died so did my interest in watching Vikings. Travis owned every scene, and was missed when not on camera. I've watched seasons 1-4 twice because of him, he did an excellent job of bringing alive Ragnar Lothbrok.

I completely agree. When Ragnar died so did my interest in Vikings. Travis acting is exquisite and from the heart. The scene when he was coming off of the drugs just pulled at my heart as the tears ran down my cheeks. Please Travis when are you going to do something else. You are a delight to watch. Vikings was the best show ever. There were so many times when I thought you had died but you didn’t. Your arm would be falling off or you’d be stabbed but no you’d survive. The torment of the drug scenes were so intense it was hard to watch. When you did die I couldn’t watch Vikings anymore. You act with your eyes, your smile that glint it’s incredible. You are a pure natural actor with raw talent. The times when you acted with George as Athelstan and the interviews were just heartwarming and endearing. You were Centre stage always. I cannot wait for another acting role. You are an all round great guy.

Seen Travis in Vikings he carried that show to be fair. Probably the best actor iv seen. Worthy actor I bet could be in any role and pulls it off. Even if he can't do accents well. His mannerisms and other actions in acting make for a great actor. I really rate him. Hope to see him in Raised by Wolves when its released in UK and Ireland

Fimmel is an astonishingly good actor. His mannerisms, his aura, his accent changes, he is unbelievable. How he slipped under the radar after Vikings, aside from Raised with Wolves and Warcraft (probably had a part in it), is beyond me. He should be the face of Hollywood.

Travis shines in scenes with complex emotions. I can recall being moved many times by scenes between Ragnar and his sons. His eyes, mannerisms and body language are powerful.

I come from Berlin and don't know any typical Australians. But Travis Fimmel is for me one of the best and most impressive actors I have ever seen. He is the face of Vikings and has made a dominant mark on the series. I couldn't watch the death of Ragnar Lothbrok until today. The whole series is outstandingly good.

My stepdad 83 and on his 80th birthday I turned around at 2 o’clock in the morning and because he’s a drummer, he was up there with a band kicking it on the drums at two in the morning people are still arriving to his house with their big black suitcases with instruments in them , rocking it up in Mullumbimby

Beside Vikings the best thing I saw Travis in was the bay town outlaws !!! Such an underrated but amazing film and he was so great in it

Ragnar and Ivar the Boneless were easily 2 of the best characters in the Vikings! But also I have to give a special mention to: Oleg the Prophet played by Danila Kozlovsky, he was tremendous in Season 6! Easily one of the best parts of that season! Him and Ivar carried that entire season on they shoulders!
He’s a brilliant actor, enough said.

I’ve not seen Vikings (I’m not one much into television or the movies) but I probably could identify with him walking out and not liking folks looking at him. I’m the same way. Don’t want, don’t seek, don’t like attention drawn to me. And the quickest way to have me break off a friendship is for others to make me the center of attention. Doing so ends the friendship.
From the comments, Fimmel must be a good actor. I’ve never heard of him, sounds South African or Australian to me.
I’m a history buff so I might just looking into watching Vikings this winter. Is it pretty true to what is known of Ragnar or is it the extreme Hollywood version as is usually done?
Never had any interest in being an actor myself (and the world takes a collective sigh of relief!). I’m happy being in the very rural wilds of West Virginia.

he played luthar in warcraft.....very down to earth. i think that warcraft 2 will be good by your behalf....i wish i could play with you.....the least i can do is create ideas for new scenes. we need to give every scene a deep meaning:making a hero in azoroth more charismatic and agile-using jin kazama karate(simple moves when sword falls down). jumping of a griffin and while mid air throwing knifes and performing consequitive sword strikes-combo. trancemutation by embracing chaos weapons; the weapon chooses you after wining elf initiation competition to slay an undead dragon. by defeating the dragon luthar needs to think whatever is right for stromwind; ressurect his son or the frostwolfs chieftain-chooses to maintain peace and bring allies among orcish ranks by ressurecting durotan. marries garona and creates a new blood elf species.....a new war engaged between men with orcs verses elfs.

Lol, i took acting classes in high school only because the elective I wanted was unavailable. I was embarrassed and I did not like being center of attention. We were doing skits from Barefoot in the park. I dropped out. Good for you for sticking with it !
