    Ben Finegold, though I've only discovered him 2 days ago, is one of the precious few that can explain chess so informatively and entertainingly at the same time. I think generally, people would find analyzing a game of chess to be one of the most excruciatingly boring things imaginable, but Ben Finegold proves them wrong.

    • @Zamppa86
      @Zamppa86 7 лет назад +3

      Akobian is better. Finegold makes it too 'childish' and jokes too much. Akobian is a pro who also makes the viewer to think a bit instead of talking chess or dumb things all the time.

    Leonid Zakharovich Stein (Леонид Захарович Штейн; November 12, 1934 - July 4, 1973) was a Soviet chess Grandmaster from Ukraine. He won three USSR Chess Championships in the 1960s (1963, 1965, and 1966), and was among the world's top ten players during that era.

    There was one game, it is covered in Kasparov's book about Petrosjan and Spasski, where Stein played as black vs (Portisch? I can't quite remember) and just let one of his knights be taken by his opponent, played on without a care in the world and played a really nice game which he did not lose! I think it was a KID. I loved that game so much and it was very inspiring for me!

      c6 Rf8+ Kb7 Bf4 and there is no way to stop mate in 1.
      If Kc7, then Bf4+ and mate in 1 is coming.

    • @dbfan2scfan
      @dbfan2scfan 7 лет назад

      no, SynsityGW is correct c6 does draw the game out longer.
      Re8+ Kb7, Bf4 Bd3 providing an escape square for the king...
      or
      Re8+ Kc7, Bf4+ Rd6... white has no immediate mate.

    not knowing the players involved in the lecture or making fun of them in a away e.i. their names, that is not being a cool teacher . that is just plain rude and uncultured . And another thing: If you try to act like your lack of information is baddass ,it is not really, it is just plain unprofessional

    • @RobsMiscellania
      @RobsMiscellania 9 лет назад +1

      DJTalpes "lack of information" haha. This is a grandmaster lecture. It is geared towards everyone who isn't a grandmaster. That would include masters. Perhaps you are a grandmaster, but I would more easily believe that you are one of those who is thinking Arby's.
