I bet it was uber satisfying for Matt to play through this game with his created character that looks like him and getting the chance to beat up his highschool rival Bless in story mode. Not many of us get the chance to do such things.
I'm glad they gave Rage the Red Belt on his pants, because until then they just looked like Sweatpants. I could imagine Rage coming home from a fight with blood on his face, plopping down on the sofa with a bowl of Ice Cream and watching a marathon of "Ice Loves Coco" with those sweatpants.
I constantly kick when I want to punch, because kick is the X button on the OG Xbox controller, and punch is Y, which is a little awkward. You also can't customize the controls. Will really try to punch more. Also, between parts 4 and 5 of this LP, I leveled up a bunch anyway and got some of those milestones.
I lost it at "shark boy and lava girl" because I love the idea that the zaibatsu can't tell the difference between different Mexicans, I.e. George Lopez and Danny trejo
Let's be real here, this game is a LOT better then it really has any right to be. See Fight Club for how it could have been. But I think the inclusion of rappers, who probably universally like fighting games, were told "Hey wanna make a quick buck off royalties with a fighting game", and they went "Nah, give us a fighting game we want to play". Also Crow's Pimp Jacket seems really comfy.
Desperado and Dusk Til Dawn were the first 2 movies I saw Trejo in thanks to my awesome ass uncle he was a lot younger than my mom so when my siblings and I would stay over at his house growing up he'd let us watch the cool movies my parents wouldn't.
Matt and Woolie this LP is uper great and fun! (Love the jokes and rap references) Just thought you would like some hints since it seemed like you searched the web for some if you didnt know you can get 3 hit combos by doing 2 regular attacks and then finish with one strong attack, same with kicks. Only wrestlers and submitters have that rule, the rest have full normal combos. You counter attacks instead of blocking by pressing a direction while blocking at the moment the opponents punch would connect with your block. Plus as a wrestler if youre in a Wrestling ring you can go up in the corners by pressing B and then if you do a hard attack you will perform a sick dive that you can use to KO with that aswell. Plus dont know if you looked this up or not but buying a new style will merge the style you pick with the previous one you had. Not replace it, so be careful. One tip would be to pick Kickboxing since that would allow you to (with every hard grab) get a couple of kicks in to lower the health to red (or just do extra damage) and then finish them off with a sick new wrestling move or a blaze move! It would also give you full combos with normals :) So basically it would just make your grapples better and provide you with better meele options. Plus the free for all tournaments have infinite retries but if you quit out of them, theyre gone forever. Thumps up if you want them to see this advice (maybe you came to watch the scrublords figure it out by themselves in all their glory) ... I just really want Matt to do well so that this playthrough will be more enjoyable..
Matt went to his inner Pat levels of anger fighting against that one rapper who got suckered into narrating a DnD audiobook. Awesome beyond the realms of sauce.
Sorry Woolie, you got your Trejo story wrong! He told this story on Howard Stern back on the first Mechete movie.. The way it goes, is at this time he was just out of jail and reformed and being one of those people that keep people from relapsing and going back to drugs and drinking. Well someone on the set of a prison movie was having a relapse, and called him to keep him doing said substance. So he arrived on set and the director thought he was an extra for the prison scene. He thought the actors "trying to be tough" we're a joke, and helped bring realism to the movie. Ever since then he was typecasted as the tough bad guy or prison inmate. I will try to find the interview, it's really good FYI!! Ironically, Danny is one of the nicest guys in the industry!!
I really want to see Plagues' interpretation and animation of RAGE's rise from humble beginnings of vicious temper tantrums to punching the earth in half.
Fact of the Day: The guy that played Shark Boy is the same actor that plays the main werewolf in the Twilight movies. Don't even look it up, just look at a picture of Shark Boy and the resemblance will hit you - like a shark.
Rage...the Old Gods shine down upon you waiting for you to accept their offer by shedding the blood of the Music Givers. May you destroy thine enemies and reach thy goal of being the most feared BAMF in all of known history.
I have to wonder sometimes if Pat wasn't just a horribly botched attempt to bring Rage into the world. He's pretty much just a shorter and gingerier version.
For god's sake Matt! you forgot to demo Speedbag again and you watched the same blazing move again. What made it worse was you hovered over it for a few moments, that was a little painful. :)
The idea that its a hair dresser calling a bald guy about new hairstyles makes it all the better, like sure let me just pop in in like 2 months to see what ya got.
I feel like Zubaz and Rage can't actually get near each other. Like, the power of each is so much so that it becomes uncontrollable and throws them back. I dunno, just thinking 'bout some lore.
I love those fights where you and the opponent just fuck each other *up*. In the Ice-T rematch the ring is just stained with their blood, it's freaking cool.
The hybrid styles are definitely a thing. You can see it during enemy selection because the style switches between them. Ice-T was beating up on you with submissions and martial arts for example.
This is easily becoming one of my favorite LPs. The rich and compelling narrative of "Rage: Angry Black Man" just keeps me coming back for more.
Angry black ancient deity.
Its keeps me coming black too!
Rage is not a man. He is merely man-shaped.
don't forget "Mystic's don't wear sporty." - Woolie 2014
You should see a doctor about that.
I bet it was uber satisfying for Matt to play through this game with his created character that looks like him and getting the chance to beat up his highschool rival Bless in story mode. Not many of us get the chance to do such things.

Rage wasn't "born," he simply coalesced from the sheer hatred of all mankind.
He's not the Dark Soul. He's the Black Soul.
Supreme Shoutmon he's the blackest soul
>Matt constantly upgrading upper strength while kicking 70% of the time.
***** Rage is Punch Kicker and not Kick Puncher?
Should've went for kickboxing.
I wasn't anticipating actual edge of my seat action from this, but Ice-T's fight was hella hype.
Spoilers
How the hell do you forget Trejo in Breaking Bad? Head, boom, turtle, ring any bells?
parker469a
Well, it was a rather brief role. I forgot that one until you mentioned it.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
You should mix grapples in with your punch combinations! Also Woolie is right when sayin runnin and grabbin/punchin is a good technique..
Derek Stewart Tis the way of Parappa
Matt, I think you got Sharkboy and Lavagirl mixed up with Spy Kids.
Looking back on both movies its an easy mistake really. Hell, thanks to the third one, they're pretty much the same franchise.
Holy fuck, it's quite a realization to know that one of my beloved childhood series isn't another.
"Do you know why they call me Tortuga, Rage?"
Because I *_love_* the Peeza and the Cows in Bungalows.
What's your Spanish rapper name?
Mine is El Tortuga Suerte.
"Cause my strat in Starcraft is turtling. Ya, man I'm cheap like that."
That Ice-T fight was hype!
I lost it at "shark boy and lava girl" because I love the idea that the zaibatsu can't tell the difference between different Mexicans, I.e. George Lopez and Danny trejo
Ice-T also plays alot of video games.
Since the Atari days i'm talking, he's OG.
Paige also has a move called "Ram-Paige"
That's some Teddie from Persona level of bad puns.
George Aveline
I hate the fact they expect us to bear with them for the entire game :)
Sounds like one of Woolie's fucked up dreams they should of never let him watch Juno.......
Rage seems to be Hip-hop's answer to Asura.
Lee Brocklebank oh you didnt know? asura is basically just rage before he was turned into a mortal by the gods
I can't wait until they fight Vanilla Ice and his TMNT homeboys.
Man, that fight with Ice-T was INTENSE!
I want rage to get so pissed off he just does shao kauns fatality
Let's be real here, this game is a LOT better then it really has any right to be. See Fight Club for how it could have been. "Drop your shield, Woolie." "Do a running grab, Matt."
When will this come full circle and get Liam and Pat their own quirks they can't overcome?
YOOOOOO! That Ice-T fight was awesome! I remember dreading the fight with him when I played the game.
I can't wait until they get to Flavor Flav.
"Robert Rodriguez put my children through college" I love you Matt
Desperado and Dusk Til Dawn were the first 2 movies I saw Trejo in thanks to my awesome ass uncle he was a lot younger than my mom so when my siblings and I would stay over at his house growing up he'd let us watch the cool movies my parents wouldn't.
>Calling a celtic cross a ankh
What are you on Mat?
He's on 'MURICAH, as usual. :P
MikkoLovesGaming that good ol' canadian murica.
Give Unto Caesar The best kind. ;)
Yeah, Ice-T is fucking difficult,
But when you get him as a Co-Op partner,
hell
fucking
yeah
Poor Omar fucking NEVER EVER has been picked.
I just started this series and finished watching the first two and right when i finished this got uploaded. Good times all around.
The insane regen speed kind of kills this game for me IMO.
Matt and Woolie this LP is uper great and fun! (Love the jokes and rap references)

For those wondering, Danny Trejo's film debut was in the 1985 movie Runaway Train as a random boxer during that film's first 20 or so minutes. ;)
Some people say that Rage were never truly born, he just wrestled his way into existence.
That was a gutwrench powerbomb. I use the Flatliner as a finisher :3 glad you like it
Wait, isn't this that game that has that rapper Matt went to drama class with? If so when does the ultimate showdown between rage and that guy occur?
Only when he beats Crow, can Rage with earn the right to challenge Zubaz. CAN YOU FEEL THE RAGING STORM THAT'S COMING
Shit, even I felt the crime in that Ice-T match
The real fight is about to start...
That song at the beginning is just amazing
During Ice-T rematch : "NOW WE GOT A MATCH! LETS GO! LETS GO!"
Yo Woolie is messing with my shit. I put a baked good on my windowsill earlier and now it's gone.
So what is everyone's first Trejo moment? Mine was in Desperado.
Holy shit that Ice-T fight!
If Rage wore the Vegeta gloves would he be the prince of all black people
Also, Matt doesn't seem to get that grapples shouldn't be overly used.
Is "running grab" going to be Woolie's "drop your shield"?
Kickboxing/Streetfighter was my favourite style combo
I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU GUYS ARE PLAYING THIS GAME!!!!
Matt never brings up the best wrustling move The Canadian Destroyer!!!!
That dude sounds like the guy who voices Lee from Walking Dead and those heroes from Dota 2.
8:39 I call it "The Hulk".
Man that fight came down to the wire's balls.
I really want to see Plagues' interpretation and animation of RAGE's rise from humble beginnings of vicious temper tantrums to punching the earth in half.
True facts about Rage: He's does not shave his head. Hair does not dare to grow on Rage.
I love this idea of Rage, just being vomitted from the bowels of an erupting volcano...amazing...
The milestone stuff's been on IGN since 2004, not that unheard of.
I first saw Trejo in "From Dusk Til Dawn"
That Ice-T fight is the definition of a clutch ending.
A guy that's known for killing people and stealing pies isn't using rage incarnate?
PASS THE STICK
Ice-T's woman is named Coco.
In this video: proof that Woolie loves to watch people die.
Fact of the Day: The guy that played Shark Boy is the same actor that plays the main werewolf in the Twilight movies.
Don't even look it up, just look at a picture of Shark Boy and the resemblance will hit you - like a shark.
What a fucking intense fight. Slow clap.
The Legend of Rage continues!
Rage...the Old Gods shine down upon you waiting for you to accept their offer by shedding the blood of the Music Givers. May you destroy thine enemies and reach thy goal of being the most feared BAMF in all of known history.
FINALLY they put the white bandages on. Fucking hell, that shit was building up since part 1.
I knew the fire of Rage could melt the Ice.
The bubble butt's name is Coco
The moment the intro ended and the game started I shouted "IS THAT MATT?!"
How can you dislike defjam action...okay if it was defjam Icon I would agree but this is prettt awesome :P
Fuck, that second Ice-T match was epic.
Guess I'm buying this game then. How's Vendetta?
Huh
I had no idea about those milestones, I always wondered what the hell those pips meant, thanks Matt and Woolie!
You kidding me? You don't remember Trejo in breaking bad? Trejo's decapitated head deserved an Emmy. :P
Matt got dem chops for days...
It was actually called the STEINER FLATLINER because Scott Steiner literally makes people's hearts stop
Ric Flair needs to manage Rage.
"Robert Rodriguez put my children through college" - Trejo, 1998
I have to wonder sometimes if Pat wasn't just a horribly botched attempt to bring Rage into the world. He's pretty much just a shorter and gingerier version.
Pro Tip- attack like twice & then grab, same goes for when they're on the "environment"

True, true.
Snoopp's total lack of hair movement was really distracting in that cutscene. I'm glad hair physics is a thing now.
Def Jam Icon should have been an upgraded version of this not the BS that it was so sad.
I like how Rage's lore keeps evolving. XD
Anybody else remember King Cobra?
Ice T vs Rage, the clutches battle in ScrubFriendsZibathingy history
Fuckin' Ice-T..... I breezed through this game until I got to him
Fun Fact: Ice-T was kicked out of the Army for stealing a rug.
Secondary fun fact; that rug tied his room together.
The Flatliner was created by Mortis aka Kanyon. Everyone does it now in different ways. When Edge debuted he did it as The Downward Spiral.
I love those fights where you and the opponent just fuck each other *up*. In the Ice-T rematch the ring is just stained with their blood, it's freaking cool.
*sees Yakuza tat* Rage confirm as playable character in Yakuza 6.
Damn that fight was close, what an amazing match!
Whenever Matt says "bubblebutt", I get really uncomfortable.
that ice-t fight was radical !
the flatliner was Mortis aka Kanyon's special move. It was awesome.
YOU GOTTA BREAK THE ICE BEFORE YOU CAN BRAVE THE STORM!!!
So wait, Who would win? John Cena and his Max Stats... Or Rage and his Unending Anger Fists Wraps?
JOHN CENA, AUSTIN! HE'S THE CHAMP! THE TIME IS NOW, AUSTIN!
Rage would beat Cena down until he tries to pin him.
If it's win by pin, Rage will never beat Cena.
Cena takes off his mask and Rage surrenders because of the sheer moe of Rising Superstar Liam-kun.
That was a nail biting fight against Ice-T.
The hybrid styles are definitely a thing. You can see it during enemy selection because the style switches between them. Ice-T was beating up on you with submissions and martial arts for example.
Tried to play this on Dolphin, but it was as slow as Rage's understanding of the concept of love.
The tension on the Ice-T rematch!
First fight was Buff Bagwell vs. Bobby Lashley.
