I had the giggles editing this video! I say the word "special" about a million times! So obviously I think my grandson is pretty special! LOL What do you like to do with your grandkids, or if you aren't a grandparent, what do your kids do with their grandparents?
Loved that you want to be a part of your grandson's world and suggested that grandparents don't do what they want to do, but what the grandchild enjoys. Great tip!
Our first grandchild was born Oct 2022 We live on the west coast , they live on the east coast We got to fly out to meet him when he was a month old I’m thankful that his other grandparents / family live close to them - he has a lot of people that love him 🥰 A friend and their granddaughter check out the same age appropriate books at the library and they have a storytime date Your suggestions always encourage- I love the idea of simple packages/ letters / low pressure experiences thank you Leslie 💕
I so agree with everything your saying. My Grandchildren lives seven hours away and when we went to visit this last time, little Caroline (almost 2) had her Nana go through all the mazes at the “Hyper Kids”. And this 64 year old Nana jumped on trampolines and went on slides that took my breath away with my sweet Brenner. We Skype once a week and I ask them to draw Nana and Papa a pretty pic and have Mommy and Daddy mail it to us. I send a picture back through messenger of where we proudly displayed the beautiful drawing.
This was a fantastic video! Such great ideas! I am fortunate that I live close to my 3 grandsons ( 3 years, 13 months, 6 months) I also, believe it or not, was in the room with my daughters and SIL"s when the boys were born.(They asked me to be in the room, I didn't ask). That all being said, my mom was close by when my girls were growing up, but my in-laws lived in Wisconsin. ( we live in California). My MIL always had a wonderful relationship with my girls. As good as my own mom who lived close by. I appreciated her so much for working hard to be so close to my girls, with being so far away. Thanks for another great video!!! Your grandchildren are blessed.
I can’t tell you how glad I am that you did this video! I’m glad you understand. My grandkids are 2400 miles away and it gets hard flying there. I feel bad when my friends all have their grandkids close by.
Great ideas! I’m very fortunate as all 5 of my grandchildren live close. As we were blessed with more grandkids it became more difficult it became to spend one on one time with each one, but we make the effort because it’s so worth it to us and to them. All 4 boys are in school now and our oldest grandchild and only girl is now 19, but we stay close by texting and trying to get together as often as possible with her busy schedule. We were able to take her on a road trip to Disneyland when she was 16, those memories are so precious. .
Had my grandson every weekend until he was 14. He’s 22 now and he’s forgotten his old Nana for a girl friend. But I will always have the fun memories and I only live 2 hours away.🙂
I have yet to even meet my grandson. He lives in Poland and I won't meet him until the summer of 2021 (he will be 10 months old by then) I will only get to physically see him every year or every 2 years for the rest of his life. The positive side is that when they come to visit it will be for the whole summer. I hope people never complain about living "far away" when many of us truly live farrrrr away. It is hard, but my daughter-in-law is from Poland and so I am grateful they can live close to one grandparent.
That is so hard. I am so sorry! I get sad about mine living in Florida. So I am sending you big hugs! Lots of facetime/skype calls in your future! We see our grandson every few months and I always wish it was more. I'm sorry it is so farrrrrr away for you! 💖
What a great reminder to just do something today to be a connected grandparent or even a mom or dad who has a son or daughter away at school to even reach out and create a bond.
Such great ideas and sweet insight. I’m not a grandparent yet but sure hope to incorporate your ideas someday. At the moment, we do live in a different state from our children. Thanks so much! 💜
such a nice video but now i am tearing up. i am not there yet, but i need to be near them. I know that can't always happen, but geez this is a tear jerker!
Mine are leaving today for cross Country. They have lived with me for 8 years on our property. My Husband died almost 4 years ago. I’m 60 and alone for the first time. I’m so sad🥲

I so understand 😢😢
When my grandson was about six (he's 26 now) he said I was his favorite grandma because I got on the floor and played with him. ❤️
