This whole time I thought it was the bearings that went bad on my A/C compressor. Turned out I had no fluid on my steering wheel but my steering wheel always felt normal. After adding the fluid, the noise went away. Thank you for the video! I’ve been driving 2+ years with the noise. Not sure how the steering wheel kept normal.
Dude that’s pretty awesome my vid helped you to figure out your situation because that’s what it’s all about. Well go out and enjoy your ride and subscribe if you haven’t already thanks.
I use the same zip tie trick when swapping washing machine belts out. They have one massive pulley on the drum and a tiny one on the motor with no tensioner. To that I say "If necessity is the mother of invention, then MacGyver is the father!!"
MacGyver all the way man. I used to love that show and all his clever escapes. The zip tie trick I had heard of but it was my 1st attempt of using that method. Successful it was. On another note I do have a proper belt tensioner multi open end wrench setup for other practical jobs. This belt system on the ac uses a stretch fit belt so this idea came in handy and saved the day. The camaro is purring and no more squeal anymore. Thanks for watching bud.
Thank you for this video 🙏 I just had the same exact problem. I have a couple of questions. Did you have to remove your serpentine belt in order to install the ac belt ? I think I answered my own question bc yours just slipped off. My belt actually ripped apart. Good catch on the power steering fluid. I’ll make sure to check mine to be on the safe side. Always better to be safe.
Checked the oil in my 2013 Camaro SS and noticed that the AC belt is torn about an eight of an inch in one portion of the belt, so I’ll be tackling this replacement myself in the next day or two. Seems to be a common issue with these cars.
Yes it sucks but at least you noticed before totally destroying your belt before you could replace it with a new 1. I just dropped a new vid so check that out and subscribe if you haven’t already thanks
@@ssjohnny6311 nice I think I’ll just buy that tool now and a extra belt just to have. I’m really pushing to get all the parts for my blower by spring and hopefully install to. I gotta feelin that belt will slip once I go forced induction
@@mr2hard2see yeah picture this just like you're SS was making that noise now mine is doing the same thing I've been riding like that for almost a month now I don't know what it could be I still have both new belts on and I swapped out the tensioner you know how it sits on the top or the motor. And I still have the noise
@@ssjohnny6311 technically I had 2 issues and by dealing with the belt inspecting the motor I heard the 2nd problem. check your power steering mine was low I topped it off and everything went back to normal. I basically caught it as it started making sounds but no damage was done...good luck.

Come in second for Mr2Hard2See
That’s your Harmonic Balancer. 90% it is i had same sound and it fixed it. Don’t go with other brand but acdelco
That’s incorrect bro my balancer has always been good and I’m using the same balancer with my ZL1 supercharger right now. Thanks for watching
