Alexisonfire are such a late night listening band! 18 years ago I used to chill with these in bed (trying not to accidently move my head and pull the headphone cable out the stereo and wake the whole house up 😂)

I was neutral on the album with the first listen, but it grows on me a great deal with subsequent listens. Loving it now.
13 years later some people still want the old stuff. The worst thing an artist can do is repeat themselves, it means they weren't heard the first time

It feels like a longing. It's tired, it's frustrated, it wants better and wants what could have been. Kinda feels like when you're half way through an arduous task or walk or something where you just have no fuel left and you're conscious of every fucking millimetre you have left to go. It's something I am very familiar with, and having it in musical form... helps? Oddly enough.
