- If you do enjoy a slight change of pace from the usual array of JDMs I present here on the channel, you'll love my yearly pilgrimage to Mooneyes' Hot Rod Custom Show. I've been covering the set up day of this event every year since 2009 for Speedhunters, a big favorite of mine as I get to see these rare customs and one off creations move around as they get positioned in their displays. Hearing them really adds a whole different vibe to the show and it's visually one of the coolest events in Japan.

First time seeing this; amazing, and not surprised as Japanese are known for collecting Americana artifacts. You name it they love it.
This was just the setup. And it's clear how they embrace the branding, the concept, the culture. The finished displays are very likely the top level in show cars.

Welcome aboard! This scene is very much not what I am into but nonetheless I cover Mooneyes events (mainly for Japanese cars) just for the visuals. Love shooting old stuff from the US, but yeah not too sure what I’m looking at most of the time haha

8:31 - Felix Chevrolet is a famous auto dealer in Los Angeles that is popular with lowriders.
Yokohama has been the top international show for traditional kustoms, hot rods, lowriders, mini trucks and choppers for so many years now, you can say it sets the bar for quality, but I wouldn't call it usdm as thst generally refers to modern cars.
There are also a lot of domestic kustoms which I like so much, like that body dropped Kujira, absolute dream car 🖤🏴☠️

Supposedly the company is coming out with a electric version called the Manx 2.0. 24;32 is a sedan delivery not a van! lol 27;59 that is a Dually, all to common here in the states! Because the bigger your truck then obviously the bigger your penis!!! I prefer the K cars and especially the vans! Like the on at 22;15.!.! Love it!!! And I never knew rat rods where so popular over there!? Wow. Subscribing and watching next vid.!
That VW Bug, it's called VolksRod, it's a cheaper way to have a Rat Rod, instead of buying a '32 Ford Deuce.

Yep still no idea what that is lol This is not my scene nor do I pretend it is, I cover Mooneyes shows mainly for the Japanese cars (bit lacking this year round) and the visuals of shooting old American cars in Japan. Simple as that 🤙🏻
