  • You should drain pools and puddles to keep mosquitos away- but if you can't then Mosquito Dunks- epicreviewguys.com/Mosquito-Dunks are a good solution. Just toss one in a stagnant pool or ponds and it will slowly release a bacterial agent that that kills mosquito larvae when ingested. One dunk lasts about 30 days and is safe for other animals that may also drink out of that pool. We have been using Mosquito Dunks for a couple of years in a permanent wet spot where out AC drains and they have done a great job.

    Cool. For $12 I think it sounds like a great deal for those who have lots of mosquitoes near them and get bit quite a bit. :) I bet that if lots of people start to use them mosquitoes could be less of a problem. Thanks for another great review. Unfortunately I will not be able to tune in live for the #QandA video because I will be busy, but I will be sure to watch it later. Thank again for great reviews and fun on EpicReviewGuys and Rainy Day Dreamers.

    I have used these several times and found NO difference in the amount of Mosquitos in our area. I put it in our ponds and any standing water on our acreage and found no decrease in Mosquitos.

      You're either doing something wrong or you're not clearing out other areas where the bugs breed. Look for any standing, stagnant water - old tires laying about, bird feeders, etc. Drain them. Set out a few planters, half-fill them with rainwater, and put a quarter-puck in each. Add a brick because I had a bird drown in one of mine. It should work.
      The pucks definitely work, but it takes a week or so - the living bugs have to die of old age.

    The previous home owner built the deck very close to the air conditioner, and it drains under the deck so it’s always wet there and teeming with mosquitos. I purchased a plastic oil drain pan in the automotive section at Dollar Tree, and added water and a Mosquito Dunk, then slid it under the deck. I was concerned that the water could be harmful to animals and was considering placing a screen over the oil pan, but it looks like it will be fine. Thanks for the info!

      madelenealvarez Hi Madelene. They say you can even use them in drinking water containers for animals. I don't think I would do that with a pet, but they make them sound pretty safe.

    Great review my friend but how many dunks would I use for a 500-800 gallon fish pond?

    • @EpicReviewGuys
      @EpicReviewGuys  8 лет назад +1

      I think it is based on the square footage of the surface area of your pond. I think one will cover 100 sq ft so that is a 10 by 10 foot pond. And you have to add another one monthly.

    Hello, Will this work for indoor plants?? If yes I should I use it

    • @williamvd5065
      @williamvd5065 Месяц назад +1

      yes works well for indoor plants too, you can either keep the stone in water and use that water to then give to your plants or get Mosquito bits which is the same product but small stones instead like a gravel, and you can scatter a few of those over the topsoil and mix them in a little :)

    I live in Canada and I absolutely love mosquito dunks they are 100% effective because I have taken water samples and there is no mosquito larvae at all! Environmentally friendly to all living creatures plants animals you can't go wrong.The mosquito dunks actually paralyze the larva and they die so they can never turn into flying mosquitoes that will bite you. However in Canada mosquito dunks are $22.00 for 8 Mosquito Dunks. I don't know how you get them so cheap? Nevertheless they do last for one month and you measure the mosquito dunks by the square metres of floating water. Very much like you would dose an oncology patient with medication which is by their body surface. Mosquito dunks are measured via the water surface and you need so little. They are truly amazing and they do what they say they do! No chemicals needed. Excellent for environment, plants, animals! ☺️🌹🌹🌹
