This is still by far the best tutorial on modeling a hand. I've been searching all over google (idk i guess i just missed your video) and youtube but no other site or video shows this amount of detailing (the nail, knuckles , and tendons) . Thank you dude lol
Hell of a tutorial , I have try others to model a hand and this is the only one that I have done that came out right. Now if you can make an ear tutorial just like this one :) Kodos to you.
I Hello have a question, 29:16 what else did u have in settings, that attached bone parts and joints would rotate too(so the finger bone sort of bends into finger’s shape). For me it does rotate but stays straight(doesn’t bend). Tutorial is very helpful! Update: I managed to do that. Pivot -> Affect Hierarchy Only
Hi Julia.... just double click to parent bone and you see that are highlight... so you need to be sure that pivot point is individual --- i.imgur.com/lzzivmO.png
I am still using 3ds max 2015. How does he hide the fingers? I can only do that if I select polygons and then click hide. He only selects the vertices and manages to hide the fingers
@@DarioPassariello76 i use editable poly and select the polygon but the finger attached with the hands and it's not coppied. When the polygon not selected, I can copy the finger and the hand but It's making another box instance
wich release do you use?.... so, my question is... when you copy the part as element 3ds copy the entire box mesh or just the part is a box? ( finger without subD).
Hi, it's just to make a concave and convex shape to the hand. Hi, low poly on 3ds max (a good shape of model without details).... UV map with Max... export as .obj format.... import on Mudbox or Zb and working with subdivision and brushes..... re-export Low poly model from sculpt software.... export normal - displace and all texture (if you have texturing with diffuse, bump, specular) ..... import all in 3ds max as low poly, create your shader con collect all maps and game is done.... a Hi detailed model with low poly structure!.... good for all industries. PS: I prefer Mudbox, more friendly, fast and very good for texturing (and now already in dev for great features!) Bye!

Does Mudbox shrinks the shape of the model in the same way 3ds does when subdividing, or in another way like ZB?
