Volunteering Blitz: A Month in Moments

For 30 days, 12 volunteers from Jordan, Italy, Romania, Spain, and Turkey, part of the UNITY project - Universal Childhood Games - ESC-SOLID-2023-VTHPA-101126508, completed short-term volunteering mobility within our association.
The project was a surprise in the sense that we received the invitation to host it at the end of May. Usually, we only manage long-term projects because the methodology of alternative museums requires time, but this context allowed us to explore new implementation options.
The volunteers underwent a one-week training in Craiova, where they learned the Giant Dolls' House method, a tool that invites young people to reflect on their homes and lives, raising awareness about homelessness and the refugee experience.
In this video collage, you can view short moments recorded during the 30 days in which the volunteers planned, shared ideas, prepared intercultural presentations, experimented, proposed and facilitated inspirational sessions and motivational discussions during the "Super Talks", prepared interactive activities for vulnerable children and youth from rural areas, and explored the alternative museum methodology, thinking about their own works of art to encapsulate emotions, worked with 180 children from the villages of Vânători, Tătăruși, and Todirești, created a presentation catalog of their work, and organized a final exhibition.
