Haha! “Some very wonderful algae in this one” haha! Man how good is cutting! I literally just cleaned off my tiles saw from an afternoon of looking into some beauties! Man the thunderegg ewwwwwyyyy! Stunning!
Who knew it would be so enjoyable watching somebody else cut open their rocks? The part I like best: satisfying my yearning for discovery without wearing out MY sawblade! I also enjoyed the part where you showed us the results of the cut without making us wait in anticipation during the whole cut !
Beautiful rocks! I’ve started putting tumbled stones in cheap glass vases I get at thrift shops. It’s prettier than a jar and I play with them more. Good use for old florist vases😀
I had not either!😄 it was very generous of my friend kyle at World of rockhounds to send me so many; we'll be cutting into the bigger ones as soon as possible!😁 and yes i will be showing the iris agates as soon as i can borrow a camera from someone! Mine just refuses to pick up the full color no matter how hard i mess with it, and they are some very vibrant pieces that deserve to be shown to their fullest😁
:D So many beautiful rocks! 7:40-ish - I am watching this with subtitles, and YT has a problem with the word "agate" - so the captions said "This is an egg I have been sitting on a long time." !!!
Yes!😄 we got some great irises!......i just have to get ahold if a camera that can actually display the color😅 dont know why but my camera absolutely refuses to show the full iris color
I can not wait to get into my bigger thundereggs! They are always a pleasant surprise to get into😁 and i really love my little tile saw; best 40 bucks ive ever spent and its still running strong after 7 years😄 waiting eagerly to get my 14" saw up amd running though
Those plume jaspers are some of my favorite rocks in Montana😄 and so uncommon so they are definitely a real treat whenever we find one!😄 ill be making some rings and pendants from that material very soon!
LOVE LOVE the slice and show videos! The slice of the thunder egg reminded me of looking through a broken window into another universe 😃. And, yes, I did see some iris rainbow 🌈! Thanks, Theo.
Right!?😁 absolutely adore thunder egg slabs! They can look so amazing! And thank you so much!😄 well be doing a lot more cutting on much larger rocks as soon as i get my 14" inch saw up and running😄 and those with iris are going to look a lot better once i can borrow a different camera; not sure why but my camera absolutely refuses to cooperate when it comes to iris😅 soon though!
Those are really nice ones you tumbled already add the ones you just cut I have to find your page so I can pick up a couple of these pieces they’re beautiful
They will be getting listed very soon!😄 my last batch sold out so fast that ive been waiting to have a few batches finished and stocked up before i list them again so that everyone can get a shot at them😄
I remember when I got my first lapidary equipment, I learned a lot of good lessons and created some beautiful stuff. I gave the whole setup to my brother in law when I moved to Hawaii. I sort of regret that (I was thinking that the setup wouldn't be as useful to me here) I had made a mistake. I've still been able to handwork cabs by, Dremel cutting, diamond steels and, finer grades of wet polish sand papers. I think I enjoy the hand ones better. Love your work and ambition to learn.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wow! Such beautiful pieces! Loved the thunder egg, and the Irises! Personally, I would love any of them left whole in a necklace setting ! 😄👍 Really amazing!! I hope you catch up on some sleep!
I am definitely planning on using some of these slabs for pendants😄 ive actually been looking at getting into electroforming so i can keep them as they are😄
I love working with Petoskey stones😄 i make petoskey stone eggs a lot but they actually make some beautiful cabochons for pendants which is why i was slabbing them😄
Awesome video , You are so lucky to find such a range of Agates , I am forever looking on the beach on Guernsey Uk . but just find plain agates . just love your video keep up the good work
I have wanted to come up there for 2+ year, to see if I could find some of those beautiful rocks. I think now I am just looking forward to seeIng your business. The treasures you make with natures bounty.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to hear!😄 im currently redoing the front of the shop because i have a lot of new material and creations to get out there, but they will all be finding their way to my store as soon as i finish up!😄
So incredible! Love this video. The jasper 😮 I NEED to be doing this! The thunder eggs 😲 .... I can’t pick a favorite. Looking forward to the quest for color 👍🏻❤️
Those are some wicked slices!!! And what is your secret to such a deep polish?? They look great. That pet wood trifecta was gorgeous!! Ok, enough of me gushing…great video, I hope you got some sleep.
You're funny and your videos are great. I have a week with my young grandsons (11,9 & 7) and I'm going to equip them to be rock hounds this summer. They will enjoy your videos!
Great stuff Theo! However, in my opinion (formed in 60 yrs) You cut the blue rock across, (I know it's easier) but sometimes, you have to let the stone tell you where to cut it. That blue rock was screening to be cut the opposite of the way you did cut it! Then maybe it wouldn't have disappointed you. 😁🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
Thanks so much!😄 i actually cut that one across multiple axis off camera and got marginally better results. I was hoping for some banding but it was pretty much just a blue milk agate. Stilll worth making some blue cabs though! I was just hoping for a blue blanded Montana agate as i have cut several that looked just like that one before getting cut but it is still a good agate; ill never complain about about a blue😄
Iris agate is a type of agate that has very tight transparent banding which causes light defract and actually forms vibrant rainbow color inside or the stone!😄 if you have never seen one i would highly recommend a google image search because they are amazing!😄
How tall are you Theo?! I’m guessing 6’4”…I’m wondering if I’m able to tell…I enjoy good and seemingly pure spirit people when they’re being themselves…need more folks like this in the world!
Awesome video. Stunning rocks. I'm not quite sure what to look for with iris in agates. I think I have 1 that could possibly be one. A couple of those agates just blew my mind. Just wow. Can't wait to see what's next.
Storm chaser! Yet another occupation for Theo. A recent video showcased his wildlife filming skill, tracking the KDids! Is there a particular reason for running your finger on the blade before cutting a rock? Thanks for the fun! Get some sleep!
Right!? Gotta love amygdaloidal basalt!i find mine aling the yellowstone. They are a but tricky to spot and arent super common so my collection of amydaloidals has been growing very slowly😅 and they take a beautiful polish!😄 ill make sure to show them in an upcoming video once they are polished
Theo, as always, marvelous stuff. Fine finished pieces always start with quality stone, but world class pieces are dependent on world class artists. You have a nice soft touch on that saw that minimizes the saw marks and eliminates the end blow outs. Considering the size of some of the material I have seen you with, you need to get you a big time slab saw, like Montana Rock Mom's Drogon or bigger. Then you can use that tile-saw to do the pre-forms for cabs. That first plume jasper looked like hot lava.
They all look great doing a good work there ! I am watching from Greece so I would like to tell you that for Greeks its so easy to say siringapora because syring and poros that means narrow passage !So its not all Greek to you !
Haha! “Some very wonderful algae in this one” haha!
Man how good is cutting! I literally just cleaned off my tiles saw from an afternoon of looking into some beauties!

Ughhhh! 7:56 and the next one damn!

:'D ... "which is why I shouldn't have nice things." ..." and I'm a very strange person when I'm running on no sleep." OMG, Theo, you crack me up.
The Thunder egg looks just like the view from inside a sea cave looking out towards the ocean. Incredibly beautiful. 🌊
Cool beans... Thanks for showing us that slabs of the same MOHS hardness can survive (mostly) the rigors of the tumbler...
Yes, I did enjoy this one!
That thunder egg turned out really nice.
Right!? I have a bunch more that i can not wait to cut into after seeing that small one😁
Nice stuff!

Yes!😄 we got some great irises!......i just have to get ahold if a camera that can actually display the color😅 dont know why but my camera absolutely refuses to show the full iris color
Wow, the thunderegg slice looks like you peek through a cave window down onto a city engulfed by mist. Really great stuff :)
NICE ROCKS!
Those are some great cuts! I love the thunder eggs! I still have lots and lots of stuff that needs to be cut. Wish I had a saw.
