  • A bobolink singing on a fence wire. It catches a flying insect about halfway through the clip. This was shot with a Nikon P610 at a distance of ~10 meters in a farm field in Desbarats, Ontario.

Growing up on a Wisconsin farm, these were such familiar friends; this makes me so nostalgic, so far in the past!

I haven't heard a Bob- a- link in almost 70 years. When I was on the farm I saw several. And red winged black birds are another I haven't seen for years and years.

Sadly, Bobolinks have become scarce here in New Jersey. But fortunately, the call of the Red-Winged blackbird is still very common every spring. They seem to do well wherever there’s sufficient cover and a small body of water.

You should look up the Lyar bird (I think that’s how it’s spelled). Mimics everything including machinery.

🍏 Early in the morning, before the alarm clock wakes me up, it's the melodious sounds of the beautiful birds that wakes me up with a pleasurable feeling. It's the birds melodious sounds that makes my mood feel better and cool. They fly from tree to tree making different types of sounds and getting themselves happy. They also makes my mood feel better and cool.
🍎 I opened the windows and peeped through the trees and the flower plants. There, I saw several types of lovely birds and their sweet sounds that gave me a cool relaxation.
Birds welcomes the morning and waiting patiently for the sun to rise. They welcome the sun rise by their melodious sounds that is hardly difficult to highlight its natural performance.
🍏 While I was watching the movements of the beautiful birds through the window, suddenly I felt someone touching my shoulder very slowly and softly. In no time I turned back to see who was that. To my surprise I saw my younger sister Sara watching along with me the bird's free movements and then their pleasurable sounds that attracts our attention and relaxations.
🍎 If I was a bird, if I had lovely voices, if I had melodious sounds, if I would be able to fly up in the sky, if I can fly from tree to tree, if I can enjoy the tasty fruits as my favourite, if I could soak my body with the rain shower, if I could allow the sun light to make my tiny body feel better, then how happy I would be to live in this world with full of happiness.
But I am unlucky to be a human being where there is no freedom like a bird has.

Check out William Cullen Bryant's poem "Robert of Lincoln". The subject is a pair of Bobolinks, Dolichonyx oryzivorus. One of the best, most observant, and descriptive nature poems ever written! RUclips won't let me post a link, or post the text.
Oryzivorus = rice eater, and in years when Rice cultivation was important in the Southern US, Bobolinks were persecuted as agricultural pests. They were also sold for food after fattening up for migration as "Butterbirds"
