    If a comms director for a “non-profit” makes 100K, then there is something wrong with that organisation.

      Not paying taxes is attractive and there no shortageof young women lining up to make peanuts. Most of them act as pocket liners for the top people.

    • @ondreiii
      @ondreiii 2 года назад +13

      I don’t get why people think non-profit workers should be paid peanuts. 🤔
      Btw, Comms Director making 100k is considered low in the corporate world.

    • @Wiintb
      @Wiintb 2 года назад

      @@ondreiii If it is not-for-profit, the maximum funds have to go to the project itself and it is only fair to expect people who contribute to such projects do so as they believe in the cause. It is not to be compared with the corporate positions.

    • @ondreiii
      @ondreiii 2 года назад +7

      @@Wiintb it’s a non profit because there are no stakeholders waiting for dividends. It’s still an organization that needs to be well-ran by competent individuals with *reasonable* pay. Believing in the organization mission should be perceived as a great value as one will do above and beyond to make things happen but they also need to bring food to the table for their families.
      You’re so inconsiderate and ignorant. 🫤

    • @Wiintb
      @Wiintb 2 года назад

      @@ondreiii Sir/Madam. Exactly my point. Instead of paying 100K for a comms director, you can give dig 2000 kids for an year if the charity is to feed or dig 1000 wells in Africa.
      You don’t need advertising for non-profit work.
      The non-profit organisations that we support do basic comms to share their update without much fuss. Work done by people who do it for passion.

    Makes you feel good about giving to charity. That's where most of your money is going, to pay salaries. Choose a charity that actually uses your money towards helping people, like Charity: Water.

      Exploiting workers yes that’s better 😑. How can people live without decent pay, 100k may seem high but it might be average and lower compared to for profit organizations. Donations should factor in admin as well as people are passion driven and go above and beyond because they care about their work. This doesn’t mean they should make little.

    • @ondreiii
      @ondreiii 2 года назад +12

      Non profit doesn’t mean everyone is a volunteer. You need to bring in competent people to run an organization even if it’s a non profit, and to bring in that competent people you need to offer a reasonable pay.

    • @jacobkennedy5392

      Plus non profits come in all sizes. I used to work at a regional non-profit with around 50 full-time staff; our directors made about $60-80K. $100K salary for a director at a national or global non profit like World Wildlife Fund or Red Cross is pretty standard

    • @nibabi
      @nibabi Год назад +1

      No, not odd at all. Many places are nonprofit. Hospitals, universities and some museums. The Smithsonian can probably afford to pay six figures.
