The Raven program is a separate entity, but within Security Forces, so you would have to first complete tech school in order to be eligible to be sent to Raven school.
The best thing would be for you to talk to your chain of command, or whoever is in charge of the program wherever you’re at. Sometimes they will just see you’re a motivated troop and ask you if you have interest, or sometimes you have to chase them down and let them know you’re interested. Sorry I couldn’t give you a better answer. Maybe someone else will chime in.
You have to be stationed at an AMC base (air mobility command) from there it should be an application process. You’ll then go to a pre raven course to prepare and make sure you’re ready for the real course
@@jrock0block80 I’m lazy to type all of them but if you type in AMC bases in a search engine, a list of bases will pop up. There’s also a base in Maryland called joint base Andrews. It’s not amc but they have a Raven section as well I believe
Hey, thanks for checking out the vid. No, you don’t need to be an officer. All the individuals are enlisted members. And the rest depends on other aspects, including if you’re trying to join the Guard, Reserves, or be Active Duty, but I’d suggest that you talk to a recruiter.
@@itzjaysuave6992 So this is from the 145th SF in Charlotte NC and I'm in the process of joining rn. They have 5-7 members at the base who take turns deploying with aircraft since it's an airlift wing.
Raven teaches you how to get beat up without being allowed to defend yourself, all just to walk around an airplane. Like most SF training exercises, they are not realistic.
@@controversialist8944 well yeah we got the flight pay, didn't really care about the tab or the number. I went through back in '08. Just me personally didn't find it realistic for what we did It's a good leadership course I guess and you can put on your promotion packet.
@@thescottishlion what i heard was it was basically a 8 week smoke session haha. had a few SRA who went through last year and they came back with the tab
What are the work hours like for a Raven? Is it similar to 12 hour SF shifts?
No, it varies, so it’s all more fluid.
Interesting timing finding this video, I just left the Guard to get a better shot at going Raven. Oh well.
can i become raven in tech school or wait until a certain amount of time as a SF

Do the 145th Ravens have the ability to attend other schools as well like airborne and air assault
have you gotten your answers yet
@@westlee1626 nope
@@ATaveras yes, as a raven that only increases your chances in being able to attend school.
So how do you become one once you’re in? Do you submit a packet to be selected? Is it based on nominations? Thanks.

So far, none of them yet, but hopefully soon.
which air force bases have raven
Did these candidates ever make it through?
Yes, some of them are now officially Ravens, and hope that all will be eventually.

Pretty much the same as a ranger tab...
Absolutely not. Ranger is a completely different monster. No comparison.
