Thank you for the video. I'm just a bit confused as to why nobody seems to mention the VAT tax (or sales tax in US), when calculating the net profit. Shouldn't we be, first of all, deducting the VAT % out of our selling price? Then deducting all the rest of our costs, to get to our net profit? Thank you.

Hey Joshua! The main reason would be to get sales, and the more of those you have, that then increases the chances of getting reviews. The more of these you get at the start, the sooner you can get your product ranked in Amazon's search and receive organic sales 🙂So yes, it's a powerful launch strategy. -Lenny

I noticed the FBA fees on the profit calculator does that fee (let’s say $6) apply to every product or just one time fee?
It is per product.

i understand the profit margin has to be 30% and above but a little confused on how i am making more than what i spent.. so i calculated using amazon calculator if i sell my product for the average price of $20 and sell all 500 of my unit. the net profit isnt more than what i spent when i launched the product even though net margin is 30%... or am i not seeing how im profiting
Great question! So the net profit will not produce the same amount of your total investment right away unless you set your margin to 100% which is not ideal since you want to sell your item within a sweet spot of $15-$20.
You will gain your total investment over time depending on your sales velocity and other factors. 😊 - FO

Revenue = Units sold x Price + Reimbursements + Other income - Refunds - Promo Rebates
while Profit = Gross profit - Operating Expenses

Yes, it should if you will calculate it per unit. That's why these factors like the costs and all of the other expenses should be considered when you decide the price of your product. ^EG

I used the junglescout sales estimator and it has been wrong by a lot. 240 estimated sales monthly at the average rank for the year... actual sales have been about 30 a month. Costing me a lot of money.

How much is the average storage cost per unit sold? Im trying to calculate the profit and it shows that the average storage cost per unit for my item is $39!!! Is it something usual? This is my first product and Im very confused!

Giveaways work for wholesaling too - especially because you should have healthy margins already.

Also, want to know if I am shipping myself as a seller and chose to charge for shipping, does a prime user get charged that shipping cost too? I feel that if there is an extra charge for prime folks, then they might not buy. Want to increase the reach.
Prime customers don't pay shipping costs, only the seller does which may mean lower profit margins. And you are right - our FBA profit calculator is supposed to give you a glance at what profits may look like and the Amazon version gives you a bit more detail!
Are barcodes a one time cost or an ongoing cost?

The shipping cost and other transport costs shown at 2:08 must be outdated now. Can anyone tell me that what are the recent costs???
The video was recorded over a year ago, but keep in mind that the shipping costs vary as freight forwarders or manufacturers provide their own shipping rates 😉^PW

In that case, you would have to open a company in a country that is on the list - Most people go for a US based LLC however I suggest that you get in touch with a legal advisor if you are not familiar with that process :)

Why do we need to add ship to Amazon fees in this? If we are FBA, Amazon takes care of shipping ryt?

Sometimes selling at a really low price doesn't mean the competitor will win the niche! Low priced products might be considered as low-quality products by customers 😉 ^PW

@@junglescout Hey, It's a private label seller seems like he negotiated good with the manufacturer we are buying from the same one but he has a contract with them that's why he gets a better quote
Please think about what these seemingly easy sales are and consider not selling out your own country by selling for other countries. Is it worth it, esp in the future... your future, and the future after you? Consider staying true to our own free country.
If you want a big profit margin without selling out your own country, find something you love or know something about and think about making them or look for that item(s) at yard sales, thrift stores, even buying bulk in our country. Your profit margin will be MUCH bigger and you’ll be building up more than just a profit.

They have certain pricing and fees, so they can help calculate most of the profit

Now I see why things are overpriced on Amazon alot. Its not cuz the product is high demand, its cuz the seller wants to have a high profit margin to cover all the hidden fees. I have things I would like to sell but I don't want to be paying more fees than money brought in.

what about the customs fees? importing from china isnt just about the freight fees
The shipping fees from your Manufacturer to should be included on you COGS or Cos of goods sold! 😉-RS

all this for me it's big confusing you have to pay tax to Amazon then tax on your profit and what would be left for you not sure about that its wasting of time
You are not considering the 15% cut Amazon takes everytime you ring a product on your FBA Calculator
Just so you know, we add up all the fees it would take to sell and item FBA through amazon with the exception of storage. The Referral fee in the extension's calculator represents the 'Selling on Amazon fees' field in Amazon's calculator, while the FBA Fulfillment fee in the extension represents the Fulfillment by Amazon fees in their calculator. 😉 ^PW
The free sales estimator is super inaccurate, learned this the hard way. Not sure how other sellers don't notice how off it is
