It's not needed anymore after the new ios 18 update. It was optional. The reason why you would transfer the ic, was that you would trick the phone into thinking the original screen was still being used which would keep the True tone and you also would not have the annoying non genuine part notification in the beginning of the settings. With the new ios 18 update that all changed. With Aftermarket screens, True tone automatically is enabled and the Non genuine display has disappeared from the settings. You can only see it if you search into Service & Parts history. But you don't have that pop message anymore.
My model says a2482 but I can’t flip it like a book when I separate the screen, there seems to be cables attached to the screen to the top part near where the camera is, any thoughts?
There's 2 sets of cables. One for the screen and the other for the proximity sensors. You need to unscrew both sets. Unplug them and transfer over the proximity sensor cable over to the new screen.
Would a screen replacement affect the earpiece at all? Brought a second hand iphone 13 that had a screen replacement and the earpiece doesnt work during calls only speaker
@@RichardMeza I’ve read online from everywhere that once you remove the screen and replace it that Face ID and True Tone auto brightness stop working. I’m confused now
@CMB.23 No. There is always some glitch that comes out when new phones are released. They are quickly fixed within the first software update. Usually within the first 2 weeks of the release of the phone. Look at all those news articles or RUclips videos. They are all released when the phone first hits the market.
@@RichardMeza oh okay thanks makes sense now. So is there a link to the screen you bought? I'm going to attempt to fix my own phones screen with your videos help
Absolutely not. Won't even work or connect. The iPhone 13 Pro screen uses a higher refresh rate then the regular iPhone 13. Those screens are not compatible with each other. You can't mix and match parts with different cell phones. They won't work and most of the times the connections are different sizes and won't plug in.

Soft OLED is always the way to go. Great content as always, Richard!
👍
Another great instructional video, as always Richard! Thanks!
Thank you!
Does face id still work or is there a chip that needs to also be transferred to the new screen?
as long as your transfer the light and proximity sensor which is glued to the old screen and put it on the new one you're good
Always helpful! Thanks Richard!
👍
Does the display ic from old screen need to be used?
I see some new screens come with extra small rubbon for this

I can i use a hair dryer to provide the heat, or do I need to get that heating tool you have?
You can use hair dryer, it will take longer though since it's not as hot as a heat gun.
Do I still need to replace the upper connector if I'm using a Genuine Iphone screen that already has it ? TIA
Does anybody know where can I buy the iPhone 13 pro max LCD screen at a cheaper price?
Amazon
What did you end up doing? Need a screen for my 13 pro
Great vid thanks ( loose that watch tho ! )
What is the upper connector called I had it in the cart but thought I didn’t need it but now I do

Where do you buy your screen?

Thank you so much for this video cheers 🍻
Where do you get the screen? Can you send me a link please
Great job! You made it look easy!
Will this work if I currently have a thin green line going down my iPhone 13 Pro screen
You need a screen for a 13 PRO. The regular 13 screen is not compatible with a 13 PRO. To get rid of the green line, you need to replace the screen.
Excellent work
what model is this ?
If I buy a screen from Amazon, will my Face ID stop working?? And how much is a decent pricing to spend on a replacement screen?
The Face ID and the screen have nothing to do with one another.
Why does mine not snap back into place? My old screen doesnt have tabs… my new one does. Every screen I bought has tabs
Nice Tutorial
Thank you
Display buying link please from India
what about the message about lcd screen ?
It pops up when you first turn the phone on, you press OK and it disappears off the screen.
Does Face ID work after doing this on a 13?
Yes. Why wouldn't it??

@@RichardMeza you don’t know what you are talking about. Yes, Face ID stops working and auto dim function disappear after screen replacement.

Are there issues with auto dim etc?
No issues. Auto dim is measured through a sensor. That sensor is separate from the screen.
do i NEED a heat gun
No, you can use a blowdryer. I saw him answer that on another comment :)
Not me looking around the house for "something" about the same size as the tools.
soft oleds are always better fr
