Actually this is my first time here didn't wanna watch hunter x hunter (1999 and 2011) because it isn't complete series and now I've watched both (1999+ova and 2011) and the movies i feel so sad that i can't watch the rest of the story.

They might as well just do that but likely won’t because with Togashi’s schedule of making chapters then the anime would have to take a real long time to allow the manga to get further. So the one thing that they can do is animate half way in succession war

I remember i binge watched in 3 days the chimaera ant arc with my mom and finished it the day before she had her surgery for her cancer, now she is gone but i still have those days as one of my most happy memories with her.

The part that made me cry hard was when Leorio almost becomes the chairman to save Gon. He was innocent and confused, but sincere about his goal and determined to save his buddy. When Gon shows up and runs to him with tears of relief and happiness was so contagious. The whole election game was a masterpiece. I started to watch hxh in 2024 I didn't expect it to be this good.

Probably the only anime where I cried more for the antagonist than for the protagonist, masterpiece would be an understatement.
It seems the Chimera Ant Arc truly fulfilled it's mission in breaking normal shounen tropes if that is what made you feel. It truly showed the flaws of us humans and our capability for destruction. And us fearing the unknown is the whole motivation on why The Hunter's Association is hellbent on destroying Meruem....

the wretched nah, It was always intended for Meruem to be the antag. There was a split between Gon and Meruem throughout the arc though. While Gon lost him humanity, Meruem found his.

I just love how Gon and Meruem start at complete opposite spectrums. Gon being more human and Meruem being a monster. But slowly through the chimera arc they change their personality. Gon being the most monster-like at the end and Meruem being the more human one.
Gon becoming more monster-like because he lost someone who was import to him (Kite)
and Meruem becoming more human-like because he met someone who become important to him too(Komugi)
