Bam just like that big power!! Now I think about this kid here on RUclips who’s been apparently on the road to 700whp with his 06 GT for the last 2 years I think. All he’s got is the basic bolt on and still a long ways from 700whp. Clearly a well modified GT500 is the way to go for Mustang enthusiasts looking for big power.

Ecspecially if you want the early s197 body. They look so nasty when done right. The gen 1 coyote can't do as high rwhp safely as a gt500 and the gen2 and 3 can do similar numbers peak give or take on stock motor but the gt500 doesn't rev quite as high but also has way more torque and power down low and mid range really makes it have a raw old school muscle car feel accompanied with an old school muscle car look and sound. The 5.4/5.8 shares the firing order with 2v, 3v, and earlier 4v as well as windsor pushrod 5.0s so they have that classic deep muscle tone to the exhaust little more so than a coyote. Compared to a 3v its not even close and even compared to a coyote it takes a gen2/3 to match the rwhp capability and how easy it is to get there as a gt500 and even then the torque isn't near as high and have a totally different feel on the street and track. They're also much more unique coyotes are everywhere although I still love em. The 5.4 is a sleeping beast just waiting to be awakened. It is kind of underestimated due to its lower stock hp but make no mistake the old shelbys are just as capable as the newer ones with the right relatively simple mods.

I'd love to s a tutorial on the boost a pump installation and thought on needs and benefits. I've had one laying around for five years and have yet to install it. No instructions but brand new. My car is moded similarly to the one in this video.

I'm curious about fuel system mods. Was the Boost-a-pump it? Stock injectors and fuel pump?

What upper pulley on this car? What pulley would you suggest if running 91. Also what pulley for autocross and road course driving.

How much power can the stock engine safely take?

750whp is safe. 800whp is getting there and anything over 800 is gonna be pushing it. the rods go before anything

@@stevenhinckle7597 the better your fuel is the easier time it has staying together at elevated power levels. You're about right on with your numbers and on stock bottom end these cars don't like alot of rpm. 6500 Max imo they don't like rpm and many times have failures due to spinning them too high moreso than sheer power. Use good fuel and keep rpm below 6500 and they can def live at those power levels.
