As a journeymen Carpenter, I've been playing with the idea of shed building so I'm trying to get all the facts together before jumping into it.
I'm hoping you have a video of one of your builds somewhere around here. Thanks once again on sharing your experience! 👊💥

This is just another 'buy yourself a job' deal. You'll never make great money, and someone else controls your life. But it's a great way to learn the business and then go off with your own shad business. Or use it as an opportunity to get other types of maintenance or remodeling work from the shed clients.

🤨… Accept you’re a third party contractor, determine when, how many, & what builds you want to be slated for.
There’s MANY of VERY well off GCs & Construction business owners that use Tuff Shed to supplement income in the off season and to keep their guys (or themselves) working during gaps between regular work. They don’t invest anything they don’t already have that would otherwise just be sitting in trucks, driveways and toolboxes….

20nyears as a carpenter.. thats includes starting out as a green horn... i went up through the ranks the old fashioned way.. OTJ training. i was subing from a sub after 2 years. sheeting roofs. Realizing how much more a man can make by doing piece work.. NOW- at an old age man.. i hate employees and ll the admin BS.. this video simplifies the income opportunity. in conclusion> this is part of my research on how to/ where to head as a piece worker. this seems like some respectable income. working by the hour is STILL SLAVE LABOR. ALTHOUGH--- i hope that Tuff Shed doesn't allow for saturation. ( as far as too many contractors) otherwise the only real winner ends up being Tuff shed.. and the carpenters end up fighting over scraps and the prices fall.. basic econ 101

Chris Silverman, You are the person I need to ask some questions about. I am interested in a Tuff Shed but my property has a standing cedar fence that I need it "Very close to" (Withing 8-12 Inches) and most places are saying they need 18 inches or two feet of working space? My cedar fence is taller than a grown man on just this one side of where I want the shed to be placed. One question is the wall next to the fence will have no doors or windows in it (Only a wall) Can the builders raise this wall from inside the shed?
I have a concrete driveway that I want this shed build on top of, like a long utility garage style, can you answer me if they can work around not having two feet, and just raise that one wall from the inside of the project? Thank you

Tuff shed is a prefab shed that has lots of difficulty in getting the right dimensions correct. Nothing but facts written right there.. I do mostly remodel, targeted repair and finish/trim.. my minimum is 1000 a day, anything less than that just doesn’t offset the risk/reward… I couldn’t imagine spending 4 hours of my life procuring material, driving, setting up and completing a small project only to walk away with 280 bucks that’s still just revenue and not profit. Fuck all that..

Around here they advertise 500/day and I can't make that work out to any more than you'd make working on any construction job and letting someone else deal with the headaches.500-general liability -commercial insurance for your truck -gas pulling a trailer -paying your help -25% for taxes - incidentals tires, tools, wear and tear =now enough to run a business on.

If they don't pay you for delivery that's an absolute RIP off. You should get a minimum of $100 for a delivery like that, I know its probably not the industry standard to pay installers for delivery but that's just because people will do it, and they have been getting away with it forever. You are basically an employee forced to use your truck and trailer and forced to operate as a contractor so they avoid all liability, insurance, and payroll taxes.
