It is so annoying when people keep being so hostile about this when the reason it even started was that in the past people in cutscenes would get locked out of the arena. These days they are literally ported in so there is zero reason for people to be hostile about pulling.
@@bluumberryYes there is, if you did it on purpose, you’re an a-hole. If you didn’t realise/did it on accident, then that’s fine, just be more careful in the future.
i thought the number on job icon is how much damage you dealt, except for tank (A for agro), 2 is highest damage dealer, 8 is less damage since 7 and 8 is usually healer
the number is where you are in terms of your target's emnity. healing and doing damage generates emnity so it can work as a sort of general idea of how your fellow dps are doing. the bar filling up under the number is just more specifically how close they are to having emnity themselves. if you do a trial or raid here there is a mechanic that targets the top two emnity holders, you might see that the off-tank has a number 2 and there bar is yellow, as well as about half-full, because theyve been managing their aggro to not overtake the main tank, but also make sure dps dont take a hit for being number 2 another tip about emnity is for healers in dungeons. because healing generates emnity, you generall want to make sure that any pack your tank picks up gets hit by the tank before healing them. if youre following your tank in a W2W, then try to stay on top of him. pop your sprint and follow as closely as you can in case you NEED to heal him during it, because if there are enemies that are aggroed onto him but not tagged yet, your healing will make them target you. being right next to your tank when this happens means he can simply keep using his aoe combo and the enemies will be pulled off of you. one last thing is that putting a regen on the tank will generate emnity, but the periodic healing from that regen wont (im saying this because that was recently changed in 6.3, so some people might still think it constantly generates emnity, and might tell you not to put a regen on the tank before/during a w2w pull)
I remember logging into LL on my old main yesterday.. A Roe. I've been leveling another char and barely had time to hop on him. Had like four Lala just walk up and start petting me while I was waiting for a raid. It was only made more weird because I was petting my dog at that time. 😂
Somebody once suggested that I should switch the game language to Japanese while playing Samurai. You know, for immersion. That same person suggested that I should read tooltips buuut I have no idea what they say in Japanese. I'm having fun though. More than my teammates for sure. And I love the immersion.
I'm guessing they just meant to change your cutscene audio to Japanese - not your entire language settings. I have the game audio set to Japanese personally and I enjoy the voice acting a lot more than the English, but it's all personal preference.
You'd be shocked how many newbies spoil stuff in novice network chat on something that's painfully obvious about a msq bit. ALSO about being a mentor, I'd suggest only wearing your crown when you're actively teaching.
If you want to know if you're doing well in an alliance raid regarding DPS: Check on the party list what number you are on aggro meter. However when people die, it's not as accurate anymore. Tanks is first with A for Aggro. And then usually DPS and heals last (unless a lot of adds come in)
In my experience, I'm the wholesome, casual level player (in the past) and I have been the one accused of "having low damage" explicitly in text. And in return for defending myself in anyway shape or form (using diplomacy/polite/passive agressive/seeing if rudeness deserves rudeness will work) I have mostly 80-95% of the time been voted off and been kicked off the dungeon. So this stuff isn't true in my experience. It's usually just virtue signalling (not accusing kougaon, but accusing the ecosystem as a whole from my experience) from people who do the things they're preaching not to do. My hate for mentors stems from my sprouts day when I didn’t understand party finder, so I stuck with Duty Finder to do ARR extreme trials. Then the group ignored the adds, focused the boss, boss was dead... and I was told I wasn't deserving of my crown since then I question: Why? I was a good BK employee :(
horrible to learn that there's drama i could witness every week happening out there that i have to join *twitter* to read.
Lalafels make me uncomfortable for some reason and whenever I meet one I hear sirens in my head
I really love your Viera so much I can not get over it how pretty he is, I remember seeing it first time when you did MSQ. I still love it so much
Still glad I got lucky with my house. Logged into shigane a few months after SHB released and there were two open housing plots that had dropped in price a few times so I just walked up and bought it. No long click session or the lottery. Sad to say, but after they f'd up summoner - IMO - I almost cancelled my sub. But the thought of having to fight to get another house kept me around lol
I bought a job skip for my alt.
I began it on a Paladin but wanted reaper as the DPS change for certain fights.
To do this I needed a lvl 70 job, so I got the job skip to get the reaper that way I could finish up a stormblood quest that was level locked and I was a bit under with the paladin XD (didn't want to lose the flow of the game rush as I got stopped abruptly at the climax of stormblood due to this lock)
Not gonna lie I never knew you could use arms length was a mitigation tool for a long time till I saw a video on RUclips on it and started using it as mitigation tool
This video was the heart to heart I needed thank you
Kougaon: Don’t apply for the Housing system
Me:Applies for housing cause I’m on Dyanamis and no one else bid 😏
❌️ Being a Mentor because you want to be toxic to sprouts
✅️ Being a Mentor for that cool dragon monocle
lalas spamming the emotes was truly an experience when hunt trains during EW launch required pit stops
Nobody liked them
Wah! Wah! Wah! Wah! Wah! Wah!
we will find you and emote you O.O
Dont worry! All us Chad elezen will pet the Viera for you. 😎👍
I saw a frame at like the 4:18 mark where you may be on my world. Those damn JADES...
I've been the sole mentor in extremes before and had to teach the fight. I've be able to get clears most of the time. Definitely a challenge.
Uninstalling the game is tank mitigation. Can't take damage if you don't play, lmao.
I got to miss almost the entire fight of floor 30 in the new Deep Dungeon from somebody instant pulling while I was in cutscene. On another note I feel at least on Coeurl the mentors in NN are actually doing what was intended with the system.
@Phoenix I keep it on since I have had enough new players just ask me questions from having it on and I would rather them ask me than one of the awful ones.
We've all accidently put an erp in the wrong chat before or just me?
The fc I’m a part of was for awhile full of halfpints & I was the only tall & sole light bulb changer until couple months later we starting getting a upsurge of talls.
Perfect BGM for this upsetting topic of video :3 XD sooting /soot
" Don't fall in love with NPC "
Me, with 2 out of the 3 NPC I like being dead, presumibly dead and the third being our Mommy Overlady Y'Shtola:
....too late
oo i didnt know i could leave the area if i accidentally pull! i make sure not to, but good to know!
I guess no one waits for cut scenes in raids for first timers. I was cursed out because I complained that no one waited
Some people are impatient unfortunately. I've been trying to unsync stuff solo my first time to watch the cutscenes.
That raiders they dont care first story well most dont.
quickly logging in to remove that Y'shtola picture from the shrine before word gets out and Kougaon gets my account banned
I was going to make a comment about how the writers play it way too safe to actually kill off the characters that people are likely to fall for... then I remembered that my favorite character died...
What is that hairstyle called that your Viera uses in the video? I love it.
7:15 THIS happened just yesterday during a guild raid. I stepped liyerally 1 foot forward and triggered the combat. Was about to get kicked from raid but 1 other person had my back. Kinda hard to justify kicking someone for accidentally moving forward 1 step. I'd recommend not moving an inch, if you're waiting on others to watch a CS.
@@MayHugger you didnt even read my comment huh
@@bluumberry I have read it 5 times now, my response (despite the grammar mistakes) is still the same.
That last advice was the best
won a medium size home first try
it really is just a skill issue
When we pick up sprouts thats what we tell them. Read your tool tips, and sprint is a cooldown.
and tank stance still dont exist in the game. wow tanks only know 2 words, aggro and threat. which is never ever said in the tool tips in ff14.
Is extreme content with duty finder possible? as I can't use pf in free trial.
Tbh, I'm only a Mentor because of the Astrope, I am a mount collector.
i thought the number on job icon is how much damage you dealt, except for tank (A for agro), 2 is highest damage dealer, 8 is less damage since 7 and 8 is usually healer
the number is where you are in terms of your target's emnity. healing and doing damage generates emnity so it can work as a sort of general idea of how your fellow dps are doing. the bar filling up under the number is just more specifically how close they are to having emnity themselves. if you do a trial or raid here there is a mechanic that targets the top two emnity holders, you might see that the off-tank has a number 2 and there bar is yellow, as well as about half-full, because theyve been managing their aggro to not overtake the main tank, but also make sure dps dont take a hit for being number 2
another tip about emnity is for healers in dungeons. because healing generates emnity, you generall want to make sure that any pack your tank picks up gets hit by the tank before healing them. if youre following your tank in a W2W, then try to stay on top of him. pop your sprint and follow as closely as you can in case you NEED to heal him during it, because if there are enemies that are aggroed onto him but not tagged yet, your healing will make them target you. being right next to your tank when this happens means he can simply keep using his aoe combo and the enemies will be pulled off of you. one last thing is that putting a regen on the tank will generate emnity, but the periodic healing from that regen wont (im saying this because that was recently changed in 6.3, so some people might still think it constantly generates emnity, and might tell you not to put a regen on the tank before/during a w2w pull)
The moogle I fell in love with ended up dying. :( RIP King Moggle mog
I remember logging into LL on my old main yesterday.. A Roe. I've been leveling another char and barely had time to hop on him.
Had like four Lala just walk up and start petting me while I was waiting for a raid.
It was only made more weird because I was petting my dog at that time. 😂
Kougan: "Do go after Y'shtola, bevause she is mine!"
Asmonbald: "Oh, I see. Guess we're gonna have to fight!"
I saw a few nice glamour sets in this video. Can anybody tell me which glamour is that female Viera using?
Funny video as always.
Btw, that black jacket you have for your character is banger. Is it from PvP?
It's the GNB AF for EW
It's hard not to fall in love with some of the FF14 story characters. I just got into Heavensward and there's this Huranchifant guy i really like!
As a lalafell player, I will find you and /surprised
I'll remember this the next time we meet in pvp, kou.
I was waiting for the ass eating but all I got was the butterfly knife trick....which will suffice for now.
ALSO about being a mentor, I'd suggest only wearing your crown when you're actively teaching.
as a lala we pet bunny girls O.O
If you want to know if you're doing well in an alliance raid regarding DPS:
Check on the party list what number you are on aggro meter. However when people die, it's not as accurate anymore.
Tanks is first with A for Aggro. And then usually DPS and heals last (unless a lot of adds come in)
I play Lalafell. I spam the surprised emote. I understand my transgressions. I do it anyway.
the tall queens lose again :( no headpats for us... im not crying, youre crying...
Open-mindedness, intuition, and spirituality for all
I have come across many pulls while I was watching cutscenes for the first time and "Yes", I just happen to be the healer in the party. Many times I entered the fight and tell myself "Oh my, what a mess".
To late I'm in love with Y'shtola and lyse and nothing will ever change that! >:3
I committed a few of these 'taboos'. Shove it, I love raiding! XD I've done all of the recent raids since ShB each time they dropped, and regularly run them to get my higher ilvl gear before the relics drop. I'd do savage content if I had more time available to get in with a static.
Out of context moogle quote that lives rent free in my head: "I'm too koopo to koopo."
Instead of wishing Lalafel’s away, here’s an idea from my guildmaster. Punt the Lala emote!
“Touch that grass, or eat it too” 😭😂
Kou be like, hmm, some people dont seem to be getting my sarcasm, how can I fix that? Oh, I know, I'll say League is a chill game, no one will believe that!
Great video!
im breaking at least two rules here im into the harder stuff the game offers and i do intend to mentor for that astrope because its pretty and i want it! XD
What do you do when you want to be a mentor that takes their job seriously?
Go for it! FFXIV needs more mentors who actually care about helping people instead of flexing their crown. I’ve met plenty of really sweet and helpful mentors; they just get a bad rap
Please do it. FFXIV needs good mentors.
Yeah just go for it! And take a break from NN/mentor roulette when you burn out from it. It'll still be there when you're ready to go back to it :)
@@Ash-vu1et they get a bad rap because they’re usually assholes lol
you also forget 99% of the mentor are super toxic x) but no seriously I have seen more toxic as mentor then anyone else 0.0
The mentors that aren't toxic typically hide their mentor crowns and you don't even know that they ARE mentors lol.
@@dresamae That's definitely me. I'm frightened of being attacked over a stupid crown due to the actions of others. I resigned awhile ago as I wasn't sure if the hidden crown function worked in matchmaking activities
@@chelsthegameruiner8669 the crown is only forced to show when running mentor roulettes. It makes sense but still unfortunate lol.
But im in the same boat. I became a mentor to actually help people. NN is treated like a social fc chat and actual sprouts needing help get ignored. You make any mistake with the crown on, and people are giving you a lot of shit for it. The bad mentors really did ruin it for the good ones lol.
@@dresamae Yeah. My friend Connor (Smol Smol in game) actively tries helping sprouts as a mentor. He's actually really knowledgeable in regards to certain savage and extreme activities. I remember seeing NN as a returning player and being confused as to what was being discussed, and noticed a player asking questions. I sent them a tell and answered the question since I felt bad that they were being ignored
@@dresamae why do you think i hide mine haha ya it suck because once I want to faerie and automatically joined the NN during a huge ERP fest...
In defense of people who don't use arm's length, it's not really well explained lol. People have read it and thought all it does is prevent them from being pushed and pulled around.
Too late! Totally in love with G'raha, Alisae and yes Lyse. Edited for typo.
Back in HW I bought a random house while roaming the lavender beds. Lost it when I took a break from SB though.. I thought to myself (oh its easy getting a house, I'll just buy a new one)....yeah, about that... still homeless
another W video let's gooooo
As someone who has only ever had villains as their fave characters, I got used to my faves dying at the age of 11.
I've learned that me liking a character, is their death knell.
Honestly, every time I see a person freak out over a character dying now. It just makes me eye-roll, like... they don't even know what it's like when it's literally every character they ever faved... lol
:Murmuring to his ear: There is a mod silence Lalafells, search it, but dont say it to Yoshi P. :3
moguls and yshtola have one thing in common, they dont die.
Jade here! BRUH I thought we were friends! I'll see you in PVP again I guess! I will be sure to bring Isabelle too :D
Personaly i would add this: "in group content, be a 24m, raid, or even trials, dont be THAT guy who holds the entire group as hostage by not rolling the itens." That is extremely annoying.
yeah people pulling while you hit a CS happens so much.
that looked like Famfrit Limsa xD
The calendar 😂
Kougan: Y'shtola is mine
Community: Challenge Accepted!
shame. i live in california were we cant have grass in our lawns due to fires... sooooo what am i to do then... damn mannnnn.
My hate for mentors stems from my sprouts day when I didn’t understand party finder, so I stuck with Duty Finder to do ARR extreme trials. (I like doing all side quests before moving on to next zone) So having hour long queues with mentors only for them to leave the moment they queue in and realize what it was *sigh* Could never get over that shit
isnt that literally entirely your fault dawg 💀💀
I wish I got an extreme in mentor roulette
@@hb-mek How is it a sprout's fault that they queue for content only for people to leave immediately after pop? There is a problem there but the sprout is simply trying to play the game.
@@Cloud7050 everytime this has happened atleast one mentor normally says "btw if you want to do extreme trials please use the party finder rather than duty finder"
By the sounds of it it sounds like this guy did this multiple times. grade A moron behaviour entirely his fault.
I relish the challenge when I get an ex but the other mentors usually leave. I'd much rather spend an hour wiping to nidhogg ex than do a lame dungeon again.
I like this Video Little sun.
The ‘don’t get attached to a character, they might die’ is kinda bull shite! At least with the main cast. A particular main character has ‘died’ at least twice already and they only come back with powers. Ain’t no one in the main cast dying.
The lalafell in 2023 is peak
