Khabib's gameplans are always the best. Nice team work. Keep making history.
Also historically fighters accepting short notice fight have a lot of success belive it or not.
A famous exemple is nate diaz vs conor and geathje vs tony ferguson. And there is many other exemples like that.
But we also got masvidal who did better against usman on short notice than when he had a training camp.
Full training camp masvidal got easily koed by kamaru, were as on short notice he did a better job of competing throughout the 5 rounds.
Same with short notice nate diaz beat conor, but with a full training camp the fight was closer.
If you were in the gym and you are in good shape and you accept a fight on short notice, you got the advantage of having a fresh body and and a clear mind and the advantage that your opponent will be overconfident most likely . The only thing that matter the most is how you pace yourself how efficient you are with your cardio and the strategy you use in the fight...
Look at khabib vs al, Al was only training for a 3 round fight and he still went the distance vs khabib in a 5 rounder , because he knew how to pace himself in a 5 rounder.
Abviously it depends on the fighter and the match up, but short notice isn't necessary bad or good.
It's like the falls popular believe that people that miss weight and have a massive advantage because of it wins more often then not, which isn't true at all. Most fighters that miss wight loses most of the time.
Volk has no excuses plus he was always open for head kicks remember when max knocked him down with one.

To be goat status, he needs to move up and challenge himself and become double champ. Even if he loses, he will be goat status just for taking on the challenge.Khabib could have been the number one goat forever if he did that but he retired in his prime. Islam may have that opportunity. That’s why John Jones is considered the goat because he wiped out a division and moved up and challenged himself. Izzy did it Alex did it even though they lost they still took on that challenge. That’s why people look at those type of fighters different. GSP as well.

No it’s because Islam only trains with Magomed Bagandov now. Give Magomed the credit he deserves. His style is different because he doesn’t train with Javier anymore. Magomed is head coach of Abdulmanap school and the reason Islam has great striking. They also have a Tae Kwon Do coach named Seifulla Magomedov and he is the reason Umar and Usman have great kicking.

No he hasn’t the work is done by Magomed Bagandov who is Islams head coach, Javier wasn’t even in this camp just showed up a week before the fight. Give credit to Magomed where it is deserved. That’s why Islam striking is so much better now.
To be honest I was so afraid Islam going to be knocked out by Volk.
But after seeing he dismissed his wrestling game and went to just strikes with Volk, then suddenly the kick happened, I couldn't believe my eyes.

Volk was ready for the wrong thing. He was vulnerable to the body/head kick in the last fight and Islam and his team made a fantastic adjustment for this one. It was a devastating KO to watch since I’m a fan of both fighters lol, but congrats to Islam!

I was in a bar in London watching surrounded by hundreds of English fans who were all booing Islam and saying how Volk will knock him out. I was the ONLY one supporting Islam. It was sweet when everyone went quiet after Islam literally did the quiet sign after the knock out. I was the only one cheering in the bar.

congrats to coach Javier and Islam and the whole team. Was hoping Khabib would be in his corner but Islam clearly didn’t need him. Just having Khabib in the full camp was a big help i’m sure. Regardless, Islam performed perfectly. What a brilliant finish not just how he landed the head kick over the guard which was up properly but how he set it up with the low kicks. And he was really close to Volk when he threw and landed that perfect head kick. Awesome. Islam is the number one p4p fighter in the world right now regardless of what the list says

As I said last time, Australians just had a loud voice with their robbery screams. Islam won 3 or 4 rounds despite being dehydrated, had is blood taken while cutting weight (Alex didn't have to, only non-Aussie fighters had to) and many other nerfs. All the haters were knocked out last night as well.

And his first two defenses were against the former #1 p4p Alexander Volkanovski, with the second fight being a 1st round KO. To not give Islam credit and recognition is criminal.

Hey i really hope someone at aka reads this because it is super important. Please for the sake of volk please bring him in and ask him to be with you guys and train, he is struggling in a way that is very tough on someone like him, and i think some brotherhood would do him some good to be shwon proper love and respect would do him a huge benefit. I am sure no one is thinking of this or his mental health but when he said "im doing myself in when i am not fighting" tells you that he is incomplete mentally and probably doesnt have a lot of support that is good support and is probably closer to a manager employee relationship between him and those around him, please inchalah bring him into your brotherhood before he does something
