  • In this video I build a bicycle wheel for my mountain bike, from individual components, showing how the wheel is laced, brought to alignment and finally tensioned.
I use a Kinlin TL29 rim, a Bitex Boost standard rear hub and Sapim Race spokes and nipples.

well done you for building your own wheels .not as easy as it looks when it comes to dishing ,fine tuning & tension.got my 1st set of handbuilt wheels when i was about 12 years old & many more to follow. it was always shimano or campag hubs on mavic rims & chrome double butted spokes. when i seen the colour of your hub i thought it was hope or chris king.are you going to ride them tubeless ?

Hi - I did a bit of research and found Bitex - they do a spectrum of hubs in different colours. I’ll initially set them up with an inner tube and ride them then take off the tyre/inner tube and check them for’true’. If alls well, I’ll finally go tubeless…Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best 👍👍
