@sal zerilli why though? The Sopranls is still a very highly praised series and in fact, would be even more embraced by critics. The Sopranos is not an apology to crime nor an action series, is a character driven, critical portrait of christian/western values and masculinity.
@sal zerilli What freedoms are being attacked? If anything, Trump is the champion of cancel culture. He is constantly trying to shut companies down who disagree with him and he wanted to open up the libel laws to sue people over anything. He even sued Bill Maher over a joke which is cancel culture at its worst.
"It's hard to get someone good these days. They are either doing drugs, or compromised with the law, or they are young and not following orders. It's all me, me, me" - Says the guy for whom everything is about him. "I hope you don't feel this way about me, Tone?" - Says the guy who is compromised with the law for doing drugs.
The early episodes had a lot more scenes shot outside on sunny days. I can always tell if it's an early episode by the summer weather. Later episodes have darker lighting and more moody interiors. Or maybe they changed lighting crews.
They did the same thing with the music. Actually, it was this season, season 2, when the music started getting darker. Season 1 they were playing a bunch of bubble gum oldies.
I love this scene. At 0:58 there's this black dude holding a hat and he does this funny looking motion with his arms, it looks so out of place (it looks like he did it too soon and then corrects himself). Hilarious.
LOL! A completely selfish mafiosa who manipulates his own family, burns down a friend's restaurant for cash, defrauds a HUD program for the poor, sells expired pills to senior citizens, and conspires to knock off the head of a family for a higher percentage point saying "kids today; it's all me, me, me".....
To be fair he did his friend a favor. Junior was gonna have someone whacked in the middle of the restaurant and make it so nobody would want to eat there. At least this way Artie could get the insurance money and open a new place that would still attract business.
That was the point of the show. Most people know most politicians are corrupt and street gangs are bad. But for the most part romanticize the mafia. The show was meant to highlight how they are just hypocritical and glorified pariah of society.
Other than Artie, Pussy was Tony's other close friend/brother. And other than Melfi, Pussy was Tony's therapist at times. Puss snitching became Tony's downfall and the beginning of the end for the Jersey crew
