Everyone else at Daytona: “NASCAR!!!”
LCN: “Is it real grass?”
Good, informative and simple instructions Allyn. Good one for beginners. Thanks for the video!
Another video full of great information, Allyn! Thanks for sharing. Love the footage you captured from Daytona! Really glad you and Josh could make it out.
I have been a follower of yours for a couple years now and I'm always learning more with every video. My lawn was in bad shape and after one season it has gotten better. I was even able to lay down a domination line with my neighbors who have a beautiful lawn and have the pros come in and take care of it. Proud of my lawn now. People are telling me my lawn looks good that's when you know your doing something right compliments on your hard work. Thanks LCN
awesome bro!!!
I love the podcast. Can’t find any faults with it. Then again your videos these days are so much better than your earlier videos. Keep up the good work my friend.
Pretty cool video! Definitely helpful for the homeowner not ready to splurge on expensive equipment. Cool Daytona footage!
If it matters Allyn, I liked the angle you used in this video using your podcast stuff.
Was planning on a prodiamine app this weekend, but it was terrible weather in San Antonio. Loved the podcast! Really didn’t know if I’d like it, but it reinforces the videos very well. Keep it up!
They hooked you up real nice with the pit/garage pass. Daytona speedway is a great place.
You are giving me hope that these ridiculously cold days, and the snow, ice and crappy weather in Lincoln NE wont be here forever. Thanks LCN!
Of all the yard channels, I enjoy the background music on Allyn's channel the best. Ben Sims is pretty good too.
Mate love your videos. U and lawn tips are going to help me dominant the neighborhood. Ty
Up on Stitcher! Yea boi! Looked like an awesome time at Daytona too. Heading down there next year. 🏁 Also just ordered my bio-stim pack from you too, so this video was helpful. 👍
Good point about the walk-speed and measuring.
Highly anticipated your videos, Outstanding job.. This video like the others it has a lot of info thank you from Lynwood sunny California
The LCN on the real grass infield! Poetic!
"Gotta keep up appearances, my friends"
And that throw-away one-liner is why I subscribe to this channel lol im dead
Great video sir! Thanks for the content
I'm so ready for you to do a project with bermuda.
If you ever in Palm Springs, Ca. Check out the grass at the Empire Polo Fields.
I am in the camp of using blue mark once and never again. Took a turn too sharp on the mower and tipped the tow behind sprayer, cracked a valve and my hands looked like smurf for several days. lol lesson learned the hard way.
One of the few things my 9 month old son stops and chills for is when I throw your vids up on the TV. Start him young! BTW, I recommend checking out the Indycar GP in St. Pete in a few weeks. Love that race!
for sure I love going to SP for the Indy cars!
I was unable to aerate during the fall. Do you think aerating in the spring would be beneficial.
Great video. I have a new backpack sprayer and I will conducting the test once it gets a little warmer here in Va.
Cool stuff. I assume the process would be the same with a battery powered sprayer without the pumps?
Podcast got some good content too. Glad I didn't put down my prodiamine, thanks for the tips and the plug👍
Spray it! I'm in Richmond, VA, and sprayed Air-8 and Humic12 but waiting on soil temps to come up for the Prodiamine - probably March.
Nice video man. Say, how close are you to the speedway? I've loved that track and all the facilities there, good stuff.
Good vid. Allyn
nice vid thank you... need help, i cut down a tree 3 years ago and had the stump ground down several inches below the soil .. 3 years later i still can not grow grass in a 12' area around were the stump was.. i live in north west south carolina and my lawn is primarily tall fescue.. the weeds always take over and the grass dies every year... Help
Any NYSDEC PESTICIDE APPLICATORS here?! This dude is fun to watch!
Allyn, what pre-m would you recommend for the beginner to use if not the Prodiamine granular that you mix in a pump sprayer?
I bought a flowzone back pack sprayer but had to make a special spray tip cause it’s like a pressure washer but hey it was a deal I couldn’t pass up sprayer down
love the music medley this episode
Was that Connor Ward bringing up the rear in the race?
He said: "The first time you use marking blue will be the last time you use marking blue" . . . SO TRUE!!! I have a bottle of marking blue sitting on my shelf. It was never opened a second time!
Man the way you were handling that pump I had to make sure I was on the right tab of my phone.
Freakin' Awesome! Thanks so much!
I love the math... but did if you test with full tank verses close to empty should it be the same?
Pre-Emergents, Herbacides, and Fungicides. Can these use the same sprayer ?
You have to find out how far you need to go before you drop too much in psi and need to pump again, your walking speed/distance needs to be calculated , you need to overlap about 6” because the ends of your pass have less than the center, keep your tip around 18” off the ground (way too high in the video). There are more variables and if you want I can send you the correct way to do it. You do have the right idea but there is more to it than what you’ve taught in this video. Homeowners should also buy a cheap backpack sprayer (not a small pump sprayer) that will allow them to pump and maintain a constant psi throughout the application process. This will allow you to walk at a calculated speed with a calculated psi to achieve the proper amount of liquid delivered over the area treated.
Which "Battery Powered" 5 Gallon "Backpack" Sprayer would you recommend?
Where would a HOMEOWNER get it, and HOW MUCH?
Thanks for sharing!
Take care,

You are so right about the blue marking dye. Luckily I bought the smallest bottle. I can not see where I am spraying with my 2 gallon sprayers plus sprayer. I can but only in front, not the tips, so I cant kiss the tips. What else would you recommend?
polarized sunglasses will help for sure.
Hey Allen what kind of sunglasses
I use marking blue on everything from fungicides to fertilizer lol. Even if its a ready to spray container I put marking blue in it. This makes me know I did a good job or not
Loving the podcast. It's a great thing to listen to when in my garage working on things. Appreciate all the hard work you do.
Pls from now on too eternity, when ya say throw err down, you must say kiss the tips straight away, luv it!!!!
Digging the music!
Bicoratic "Memory Card Full" & "Where to?"
Man, I just sprayed 10,000sq ft in the backyard with this sprayer. That was hard work.
Question: Is it possible to reuse an empty OTC pre-M bottle for the bio-stim? I'm environmentally conscious and hate to discard plastic if I can re-purpose it. If I can reuse it, how does the measurement change/work. Most of these bottles are 32oz and cover 5000 sq ft. I'm just trying to be kind to the environment and utilize what I already have.
Hey Allyn! I just moved into a new home in Southern California, my first owned place. I've invited out a few landscapers who haven't really told me much, but from what I can tell I have a weed-covered St. Augustine lawn with some significant dead patches throughout. I've watched just about every st augustine video you have. I guess my question is a. what is the best way to identify the types, if there are multiple types, of grass in my lawn. b. what the heck do I do if they require a different kind of care. c. Should I start with the Scotts Bonus S, water and let it get sun (it all does). and d. can you save me? haha, thanks and I want so badly to get it to a point of maintenance but I've struck out getting some advice
sounds like a question I can answer on the podcast this week - stay tuned!
Amazing. I also emailed you because I’m also a bit stuck as they don’t sell that weed & feed to California. Should I just start over? How will I care for a st Augustine lawn if they don’t even make the products for it available. Ugh. Well, looking forward to the podcast
Do any analysis while you were out on the infield?
no I didn't have time - I wish I could have
You should take some tips from connor ward, his lawn looks great!
Allyn I’m looking to get a battery sprayer and have really been interested in the Jacto brand. Do you know anything about these sprayers? Maybe you can use your RUclips status and get one for review?
I have never heard of them, sorry but if I get one I'll spray it out and let you know
Probably a dumb question but here it goes... Is it ok to spray a herbicide (for example, broad leaf weed killer) and RGS at the same time? What about in addition to Milo or a starter fert? I feel like it would be ok, then again would the fert and the rgs help the weeds “beat” the weed killer?
You could but to get the most out of each product you would want to use different spray tips, foliar application vs soil application. The milo or bio stem will not beat the herbicide, it will actually help given that 2,4-D is a growth regulator class systemic broad leaf herbicide.
Awesome, I appreciate the info!
I have the same sprayer, I have the Prodiamine WDG.... Challenge accepted! :)
ha ha nice!
I just bought the bio pack and warm season program. I put in new st Aug sod a few weeks back. At what point can I put the next products down on my new sod?
RGS at 3oz/1000 every 3 weeks starting right away, water it in
@@Thelawncarenut thank you
A video of you just enjoying the mow maybe?
So do i spray my yard or do a weed and feed to kill off my weeds before i starting seeding??? I'm so confuse one video he says sprayer the next he using a spreader......
Weed and feed is a granular product that has some herbicides and fertilizer in it. That needs to be applied with a spreader. Regular herbicides should be done with a sprayer of some sort. You have better control over the spray and how much is put down.
Cool😎
Wear smart glasses with a gps displaying your speed
You need to build yourself (or have someone build it for you) a nice big shed for all of your lawn stuff.
You said "The first time you use marking blue will be the last time you use marking blue". Can you explain why? I was eying that before I saw this video. Thought it'd be useful to see where I've sprayed.
Because it's hella messy
Was that curly doc on your sidewalk?
Yes for sure it may have been !
What is wrong with marking blue? What is rgs?
It's hella messy and gets everywhere
LCN ... love your videos but ... why even make this if one doesn’t have a battery powered sprayer for consistency. If it’s a cost issue, then Ortho dial n spray with a hose for Fertilizer or Soil support and a hose end RTS for pre-emergent or fungicide.
Gotta start somewhere
Lowe’s has a new Craftsman 23” push mower. Looks great and the bigger deck is always a plus. Can you get one for a review soon? I’m interesting in trying it out this year
Your crazy lawn care nutt
Make a grass angel!
"16 Ounce Flow" was my nickname junior year of high school.
The times are skewed because you aren't pumping while spraying (you had your phone on your hand)
@15:30 wasn’t it supposed to be 1 gallon not 1/2 gallon?
Oh wait, I see 1 gallon over two passes
Looks like your into sprayers just like you are with hand pruners? Just an observation.
Wow. Mine only put out 4oz in 30 seconds. So it's going to take me 16 minutes to do 1,000 sf. It's going to be a long day lol.
18:24 Ha ha ha ha... I see what you did there
What I saw was Richard Petty running over to meet Allyn Hane, the LCN and RUclips sensation! That’s how I would tell it.
Very helpful Video in selecting a sprayer for my future purchase. Ty. Please clean your garage so your wife can park her vehicle inside. BOOM....!
I know what two minutes feels like! Lol
I'm a 1-minute man myself.
hi i just start this channel is all about pest control and also lawn care i would like your support guys have a great day will see you in spring .
Looks like a windy day. I thought it was advised not to do any spraying on a windy day?
Good thing we are only using water
First. Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhh
Not first cause you suck!
Dammit was too busy watching your channel
And it wasn’t even a dirty first. Aren’t you supposed to be spending time with family, not working on firsts?
@@Jmfokken yes. Not even a dirty first
You are always first . That’s what Mrs. Ward told me 😲
Nice Audi, you guys ditch the lame ass hyundai?
Oh for Pete's sake. Just buy a Chapin battery powered backpack sprayer. Well worth it
I have 5 of them. This is for those not ready to invest yet.
Sure, until the battery craps after two uses! Ordered a new battery but it’ll take a week to get a new one (bad because it’s preemergent window time here) but bought a Husky 4gal backpack pump sprayer to fill in. Already have a 2 gal like LCNs.
Sorry to hear that. I have had good luck with mine and have used it extensively last year. Ryan Knorr has had leaking issues with his as well. I would like to get a Jacto sprayer but is it $367 on Amazon. So if (or when) my Chapin breaks I would probably buy an identical one. @@mfarley4512
I think I’ll try the Ryobi next, I already have some of their 18v +ONE tools and batteries. Thanks for the heads up on another choice though, John.
Waiting on the DeWalt 👍🏼 20v battery sprayer. I already have 6 batteries so no problem with extra power! 🤩
I like to "blow" out of my garage as well.
Isn't this a Lowe's brand of a pump sprayer not home depot?🤔🤔🤔🤔
could be, I do go both places.
@@Thelawncarenut All good brah I just was thinking that was a Lowe's brand.
They let you in speedway ... with your prior convictions and all?
There was a lot of rubbing in this video!
Aaaaaaaand just got 10” of snow FML
Technically shouldn't you have to watch first @connorward
@11:10 thats what she said
Why don't you do it the other way around. Fill the tank with water, do your usual spray over the lawn, and see how much water you use. After that put in the right amount of stuff (pre-emergent, herbicide, or whatever) for the size of the lawn, and just spray the usual way. This way you adapt the amount of chemical you use to your spray habit instead of adjusting your spray habit for the amount of water you're supposed to use.

"Much wider mouth" was my ex-wife's nickname in college...
yikes!
You know what two minutes feels like? What ever happened to two pumps and you’re done?
Shall I assume you may not be a fan of the marking blue because it is one of the messiest things you ever can work with?
Technically you didn't calibrate the sprayer, you calibrated you to the sprayer. :)
First!
First?
Perfect, now I have the best revenge for when the mailman uses his pump sprayer on my wife.
First
can or will you guys go metric ever ?
