- Somehow I have reached the epic milestone of 50 years of age and that's quite something for me with the history I have and all I have been through! Its been an incredible week of wonderful unexpected surprises, in this vlog I share all the events of my 50th birthday week, as well as reflecting on what its like for me to have reached the age of 50, looking back on my days of addiction, struggling through gender dysphoria, severe mental health, often not wanting to get to the age I am now and really never imaging I would, and here I am, so incredibly grateful to be alive! I have the most amazing people in my life and I am incredibly blessed.

I;m 47 in a little over a month, and I can say, with chronic illness, being trans and getting surgery to help with dysphoria, I never thought I'd be here either. My friends say "You're going bald!" or "You're going grey!" They think it's something I don't want (or something they don't like about themselves so they think I don't either??) I tell them "Finally, I earned the grey hair and the bald spots!"

You really don’t look your age. I get this too and I should be 40 this year. It’s so cool that we are 10 years apart. All my friends are older than me.

I am like you: An older gay transman with a lesbian past. But because of my lesbian past my mother can't understand that I am actually a gay transman. I tried to explain this to her a 100 honderd times without any success unfortunately. It doesn't help either that I live in a very conservative town in the south of the Netherlands. People in general don't understand these subjects where I live. So I really think that your videos are usefull to educate people.
