A wonderful series, and a fantastic bike born from passion and skill. I've enjoyed every step, and the build thread. Thank you so much for documenting the process so well.
After watching all the build videos and now seeing it done,Great job capturing mid century feel and look with 21st century technology.Sweet lookn scoot.
excellent work, I observe from the beginning of the project, and truly is a pleasure to see it finished, I congratulate you for the work and achievement obtained. greetings and I hope to see another project. and thanks for sharing.
If you ever want to move on to a different project and feel like parting with this old girl please let me know you did an awesome job man ...10 thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤪🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey man i love this build ! I’ve seen all of your videos about it last year but i dont remember any of the specs.. would you share your springer length and your rack degree ?? I love the uphill angle its just perfect... thanks !
dammit. first he got the camera pointing backwards, then when he finally figures it out and turns it around, he's got the tank all in the way. but a killer chop. a lot of really cool fabrication.
Nice bike, i have the same magneto , but how did you time it ? where did you have the advanced timing mark in the hole, and did you get teh narrow lobe in the magneto to just break the point ? Thx
Very nice! Admire (and a bit envious of) the hard work, dedication, and talent that goes into building something so nice. Was wondering about how long did it take to build it from the day you bought it until you decided it was finished? 👌 👍
Now that’s a real Harley chopper! Screw all this “bagger big wheel” horseshit! True chopper/bobbers come from your garage..not off a showroom floor! Ride on...
Put a tank shift lid on that tranny and never look back. An Evo pushrod (bent to fit, naturally) makes for a dandy shifter. Weld it right to the plate that is attached to the shaft (in the lid) that turns the drum. Super fun to ride! Great job!
+liljacko2006 We're unsure of who made the springer. It was a Craigslist buy. For a little while, we had numerous people say it was a Huggy Bear front end. That got us pretty excited, but unfortunately it's not a Huggy Bear springer. It's 13" over. Thank you for watching!
IMHO You should have got a basket case or some abused old shovel instead of butchering such a sweet shovel as you started with!......A REAL SHAME ! Nice clean early 70's FX are hard to come by...lots of baskets and not so nice ones out there...............And I'm a chopper guy too that has built many over the past decades.............. Also must mention the rake is wrong for that long of a springer...... ( more rake or shorter springer needed) bike should sit level for obvious mechanical reasons. Also I would have rigged up a front brake..... rear only brake very dangerous in a fast stop situation....LASTLY............ LOSE THE MUSIC!!!..Hearing the bike run would have been the best music.
Beautiful scooter.
Shovels make the sweetest choppers.
Old iron heads come a close second.
Great video
Dude, the 70's called and they want their chopper back... Seriously, epic build !!!
+David Spin Thank you sir!
+milkcrate82 nice bike, how hard I'd building one from rolling chassis?
