WOW! I’ve been awaiting this all bloody week. You’ve definitely not disappointed me, this was one truly great film. I’m sitting in my hovel of a dreary flat feeling the cold and damp, naturally being a very poor pensioner I can’t afford any heating but this film certainly warmed me up. Some amazing views and cloud inversions, you are most certainly two very lucky people to be able to head out into such beautiful mountain scenery. thank you so much Mike, if its any relief we are sat here in our very cold and somewhat damp flat counting the minutes we can have 1250w on in one room to keep us mildly unfrozen! 😂😂 its not long, by our calculations a small space would cost 36p an hour to be just mildly lukewarm. my budget would be blown with that one heater in several hours… not a great state of affairs! thank you so much for great comment though. we do love the Alps and bizarrely they are cheaper, inconceivably than spending similar time in our lovely Lake District. that was the best cloud inversion we have ever seen. rated EE for the most part (exposure/scrambling), a tiny part at the end was EEA (kit recommended). all well within your capabilities ♥️

Congrats getting to the top, it looked very, very challenging and the flies looked horrible. The mountain goats were definitely showing off and they have a beautiful home.
@GENerationXplorers thank you, that means a lot to me. Probably about 60 Trigs all in all. To be honest, I've been knocking known ones off, I know, so very soon, I will have to check my list. I've probably got about 30 to go as I zeroed my Trig count when I started the 88 Trig Point Challenge.
You guys made me jealous, what a shots, what an brilliant atmosphere. One big thumbs up from me, the hiking seems quite steep, especially at the beginning, but the views from the top are unreal. What a beauty!

What an absolutely amazing hike. I get on the top of a 20-foot rock and have trouble finding my footholds, so it was the right decision, Jilly. Absolutely stunning hike! You both done so well and got so much further than I ever could. My vertigo would not have gotten me through that last section. Love the cloud inversion and the sun as you were heading done. Glad the bears 🐻 stayed a safe distance 😅

Not sure where Jilly gets all that energy from to sing, very lovely though, although im not sure the chamois agrees! Im a huge fan of bears but in the pitch black after an exhausting hike not so much, i was very happy when i was back in the car with the doors closed! 😂
Wow. Were you dancing and singing the whole way up the mountain? I think you probably were. Ha ha. Too bad Jill did not make it all the way, but definitely better safe than sorry. I have turned back many times on hikes. Amazing hike, and the cloud layer going back down was spectacular. Bear growl, pretty cool. The goats also very cool to see.
thank you Leon 🙏 yes normally im very excited to hear a bear growl but with a rapidly diminishing next to useless torch light, one wrong turn thanks to gpx i had no patience for the bear! those chamois were lovely they literally escorted us down a significant part of the mountain. a one of a kind day, thank you for watching ♥️

Am I jealous ? YES most definitely. Wow this is amazing from beginning to end . I kept thinking "This can't get any better" but it did time and time again. The first sighting of the mountain was pretty awsome and looked to me a distant dream. 3 1/2 hours ... no chance haha ... but hey you went for it. You experienced it all ... Rocky steps, severe edges, flies, blistering sun .... ROPES !!! unappreciating chamois haha You guys are incredibly adventurous, I'm so in awe. What's this a signpost on a mountain ? haha no gate of the week though haha Well done Jill , I admire you for taking the tough decision not to go on, very wise. Loved the "Lets spin you round" at the top. These are I'm sure the most incredible scenes I've seen from a mountain hike ... you're giving me itcy feet haha I loved all the views all the way up but those cloud inversions have a special place in my heart and my absolute dream to see when out hiking. I'm struggling for words to describe the scene. Favourite shot was of Jill silhouetted against the clouds 😍. So pleased you made it down ok and the bear didn't get ya. Well done in the time too ... 8563 ft is some massive mountain. Jealous, Jealous Jealous but love to see your adventures 😍

Looked a cracking day out with a bit of everything. Those summit climbs always look worse from afar but this one sounded it was how it looked. Good decision to not go on if you don't feel comfortable. I've sh!t myself a few times in situations like that. It's all part of the fun....only if you survive. Nice huge summit cross and epic views. I'm sure a day neither of you will forget 👍

Ah guys here in Welsh we would say... ardderchog ! ( excellent!) That was a fantastic place and what beautiful weather. The ascent was gorgeous, apart from not much shade and the horrible flies I can imagine 😯 Beautiful cloud inversions, big drops and wonderful views. You captured that goat perching on the edge so well. Funny to see snow up there but nice you had some wind. Well done Nick for getting to the summit, loved the cross up there and Gill you did well to get so far, its always safety first and descending a steep mountain is what scares me more than ascending too. Took a long time to get up but what an achievement , the alps are big ! The views from the summit were fabulous and you had gorgeous sunset views coming down, good thing you had the torch ! I would be more scared of the jumping frogs than bears 🤭 Loved that ~ Anna 👍❤️

You guys really went hard on that hike😮. Pretty steep slog most of the way up and those pesky flies must have been annoying😣. Still, all that climbing effort to get those magnificent birds eye views at the top of Monte Legnone were really amazing!! And the last bit with the ferrata looked pretty eerie so I can understand why Jill didn't push on. That sunset above the the clouds on the way down was pretty epic❤❤. Glad you didn't encounter those bears though!! Awesome video Nick & Jill and well done...I bet you slept well that night too!
Sorry I haven't been here for a few weeks, it's been a super busy couple of weeks at work and I'm just catching up on your videos now. This is amazing, what an incredible achievement both of you. I loved seeing the climb and the descent and I'm very glad your video didn't become a 'Nick and Jill's Close Encounter With a Bear' vlog at its conclusion. I would have been absolutely bricking it. Looks like a very special place and what an exhilarating feeling to be on top of the world looking down on creation, as Jill's song put it (used to sing that in primary school lol). I loved this video, wonderful setting, beautiful shots and a really clear sense of the challenges of climbing this particular mountain and the need to take that challenge very seriously if attempted. Wow that was some climb, some climb indeed and when you first saw the actual peak - what a beast! To be fair 4 Euros for an all day park is not too bad at all, despite the sketchy drive up. I miss the summer but I sure do not miss those pesky bugs, drive me nutso and just as well you like a bit of scrambling, especially when the fun began. It looked really steep in places going up (must have been a mare going down) and I had to lol when I saw that signpost, as my addition would have read "Keep going, you are nearly half way to the top"....So pleased you did not do your back in when you did that kick next to the cross on the summit and gutted for Jill that you could not get up that last but but always safety first. The views from the top (and on the way up and down) were insane but man walking down in the dark, real pleased the car was still there and are you sure it was not your stomachs growling you heard🤔😁, great watch, cheers Alan
thank you so much Alan. it features on our more difficult mountain we did on this holiday but i will say it here, now, “there is something about the overwhelming nature of the Alps that makes it so inspiring”. conquered about twenty/thirty alps now and id say a good third of them were the most overwhelming mental challenge i have ever had to overcome. we got to this walk really late, not our fault, the directions on all GPS’s and maps were way out, the first sign, added hours to our estimate and that first reveal of the summit so close to the start had us both questioning our ability all day. it was a race against time and our ability to complete it.. ..the biggest mistake we made? we didn’t pack torches. all we had was a few minutes left on an iphone torch and an untested gopro torch that in very low power mode might last half an hour. we got lost, thanks to GPS technology! 😱😱 we had to retrace our steps, no light. and then the bear growls started. i love a bear growl over anything on the planet. i was petrified. pitch black. no supporting light and no way to discern how close the bear might be. it was the fastest retreat into the car we have ever done! amazing day. one we will never forget ♥️
thank you Dara, yes we had both must recovered from covid three weeks prior. it does take its toll on the lungs as you can probably hear from our breathing. a nasty disease for sure, as someone who has never smoked and taken pride in being reasonably fit and healthy i don’t want to think of the long term damages of covid.

Ciao Ms Kayak! yes this was an awesome trail i think you guys would love. our knees are always fine on the ascents but we both struggle on the descents. thankfully the knee straps and the sticks really helped with that. the very next day we walked several miles without ache or pain! it was a steep hike with about 5000 foot of ascent with very little mileage! have an awesome weekend you awesome pair! ♥️ 🛶

Cheers Simon! We did use all our fluids plus there were no water points! The light on the GoPro came as part of the creator pack and we were so glad of it as we never packed torches as we always thought we’d be down in daylight but everything conspired against us on this day! Sadly with me and Jill separated at the top not long enough. probably only 10 minutes, had Jill been with me we would have probably spent an hour up there and then really struggled with the remaining daylight on our descent! ♥️🇨🇦
Watched this when it was released,this is my sort of hike ,and 20 euros a day is a bargain for car 🚗 hire . The views are stunning ,love the stone hut 🛖,and I was covered in anti mozy stuff , they loved me .what a lovely 😊 day for a hike ,plus I love ❤️ 0 people,wonder if could pitch a 🏕️ there that be so cool 😎,waking up to those views .my husband loves your town videos,but this is why I love my bunnies 🐰,so much energy and the love ❤️ you have for hiking 🥾,and 7 people not bad on way up.I would so love ❤️ do this hike with you guys ,and they always have some sort cross ,and 4 half hours there and back is a good 👍 day out .I meant be in training for Everest base , but due to hubbys cancer ♋️ and many other things happening,had to shelf it.think for me trying getting to top 🔝 would be hard with my short legs 🦵 😂.❤loved this video debs xx

Bravo.The last part of Legnone can be dangerous, unfortunately few climbers died in the past years and one military plane crashed on the top of this mountain.I think that even you took some risk in descending so late.
Your absolutely right Gianni, ashamed to say all the best planning and research failed us on this one. from two satnavs failing to find the start point to Google Maps wanting to take us up a non existent road to literature saying it was only a 3 hour ascent to the summit, everything went against us. we did think long and hard about doing a small, more accessible mountain upon arrival given the time that we arrived but weighed up the pros and cons and accepted that the latter part would be done at nightfall. it’s definitely a mountain that demands respect, id hasten to point out that we ventured up in probably ideal conditions so a lot of preparation would be necessary otherwise. one additional word of caution would be that unlike most mountains in the area there is no water available on the route, you need to come with enough for the day. we took several litres but did find ourselves really struggling with adequate consumption towards the end. we’ve learnt some lessons on this one! 👍
Oh absolutely, you can almost guarantee hearing one if your up a mountain with trees after dusk. After that jogger was killed earlier in the year the Mayor of the region stated there were 150 bears in the region and the bear restocking had been way too successful.

WOW! I’ve been awaiting this all bloody week. You’ve definitely not disappointed me, this was one truly great film. I’m sitting in my hovel of a dreary flat feeling the cold and damp, naturally being a very poor pensioner I can’t afford any heating but this film certainly warmed me up. Some amazing views and cloud inversions, you are most certainly two very lucky people to be able to head out into such beautiful mountain scenery. Your films get more FIVE STAR ratings than any others. Yes this is another FIVE STAR FILM ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well done Nick & Jill your true professionals. ❤️
thank you so much Mike, if its any relief we are sat here in our very cold and somewhat damp flat counting the minutes we can have 1250w on in one room to keep us mildly unfrozen! 😂😂 its not long, by our calculations a small space would cost 36p an hour to be just mildly lukewarm. my budget would be blown with that one heater in several hours…

that was the best cloud inversion we have ever seen. rated EE for the most part (exposure/scrambling), a tiny part at the end was EEA (kit recommended).

I have turned back many times on hikes. Amazing hike, and the cloud layer going back down was spectacular. Bear growl, pretty cool. The goats also very cool to see.

Am I jealous ? YES most definitely. Wow this is amazing from beginning to end . I kept thinking "This can't get any better" but it did time and time again. The first sighting of the mountain was pretty awsome and looked to me a distant dream. 3 1/2 hours ... no chance haha ... but hey you went for it. You experienced it all ... Rocky steps, severe edges, flies, blistering sun .... ROPES !!! unappreciating chamois haha You guys are incredibly adventurous, I'm so in awe. What's this a signpost on a mountain ? haha no gate of the week though haha Well done Jill , I admire you for taking the tough decision not to go on, very wise. Loved the "Lets spin you round" at the top. These are I'm sure the most incredible scenes I've seen from a mountain hike ... you're giving me itcy feet haha I loved all the views all the way up but those cloud inversions have a special place in my heart and my absolute dream to see when out hiking. I'm struggling for words to describe the scene. Favourite shot was of Jill silhouetted against the clouds 😍. So pleased you made it down ok and the bear didn't get ya. Well done in the time too ... 8563 ft is some massive mountain. Jealous, Jealous Jealous but love to see your adventures 😍

Looked a cracking day out with a bit of everything. Those summit climbs always look worse from afar but this one sounded it was how it looked. Good decision to not go on if you don't feel comfortable. I've sh!t myself a few times in situations like that. It's all part of the fun....only if you survive. Nice huge summit cross and epic views. I'm sure a day neither of you will forget 👍

Ah guys here in Welsh we would say... ardderchog ! ( excellent!) That was a fantastic place and what beautiful weather. The ascent was gorgeous, apart from not much shade and the horrible flies I can imagine 😯 Beautiful cloud inversions, big drops and wonderful views. You captured that goat perching on the edge so well. Funny to see snow up there but nice you had some wind. Well done Nick for getting to the summit, loved the cross up there and Gill you did well to get so far, its always safety first and descending a steep mountain is what scares me more than ascending too. Took a long time to get up but what an achievement , the alps are big ! The views from the summit were fabulous and you had gorgeous sunset views coming down, good thing you had the torch ! I would be more scared of the jumping frogs than bears 🤭 Loved that ~ Anna 👍❤️

You guys really went hard on that hike😮. Pretty steep slog most of the way up and those pesky flies must have been annoying😣. Still, all that climbing effort to get those magnificent birds eye views at the top of Monte Legnone were really amazing!! And the last bit with the ferrata looked pretty eerie so I can understand why Jill didn't push on. That sunset above the the clouds on the way down was pretty epic❤❤. Glad you didn't encounter those bears though!! Awesome video Nick & Jill and well done...I bet you slept well that night too!

Sorry I haven't been here for a few weeks, it's been a super busy couple of weeks at work and I'm just catching up on your videos now. This is amazing, what an incredible achievement both of you. I loved seeing the climb and the descent and I'm very glad your video didn't become a 'Nick and Jill's Close Encounter With a Bear' vlog at its conclusion. I would have been absolutely bricking it. Looks like a very special place and what an exhilarating feeling to be on top of the world looking down on creation, as Jill's song put it (used to sing that in primary school lol). I loved this video, wonderful setting, beautiful shots and a really clear sense of the challenges of climbing this particular mountain and the need to take that challenge very seriously if attempted. Wow that was some climb, some climb indeed and when you first saw the actual peak - what a beast! To be fair 4 Euros for an all day park is not too bad at all, despite the sketchy drive up. I miss the summer but I sure do not miss those pesky bugs, drive me nutso and just as well you like a bit of scrambling, especially when the fun began. It looked really steep in places going up (must have been a mare going down) and I had to lol when I saw that signpost, as my addition would have read "Keep going, you are nearly half way to the top"....So pleased you did not do your back in when you did that kick next to the cross on the summit and gutted for Jill that you could not get up that last but but always safety first. The views from the top (and on the way up and down) were insane but man walking down in the dark, real pleased the car was still there and are you sure it was not your stomachs growling you heard🤔😁, great watch, cheers Alan
thank you so much Alan. it features on our more difficult mountain we did on this holiday but i will say it here, now, “there is something about the overwhelming nature of the Alps that makes it so inspiring”. conquered about twenty/thirty alps now and id say a good third of them were the most overwhelming mental challenge i have ever had to overcome.
we got to this walk really late, not our fault, the directions on all GPS’s and maps were way out, the first sign, added hours to our estimate and that first reveal of the summit so close to the start had us both questioning our ability all day.
it was a race against time and our ability to complete it..
..the biggest mistake we made? we didn’t pack torches. all we had was a few minutes left on an iphone torch and an untested gopro torch that in very low power mode might last half an hour.
we got lost, thanks to GPS technology! 😱😱 we had to retrace our steps, no light.
and then the bear growls started. i love a bear growl over anything on the planet.
i was petrified. pitch black. no supporting light and no way to discern how close the bear might be.
it was the fastest retreat into the car we have ever done!
amazing day. one we will never forget ♥️

thank you Dara, yes we had both must recovered from covid three weeks prior. it does take its toll on the lungs as you can probably hear from our breathing. a nasty disease for sure, as someone who has never smoked and taken pride in being reasonably fit and healthy i don’t want to think of the long term damages of covid.

Ciao Ms Kayak! yes this was an awesome trail i think you guys would love. our knees are always fine on the ascents but we both struggle on the descents. thankfully the knee straps and the sticks really helped with that. the very next day we walked several miles without ache or pain!
it was a steep hike with about 5000 foot of ascent with very little mileage! have an awesome weekend you awesome pair! ♥️ 🛶

Cheers Simon! We did use all our fluids plus there were no water points! The light on the GoPro came as part of the creator pack and we were so glad of it as we never packed torches as we always thought we’d be down in daylight but everything conspired against us on this day! Great day though and an epic mountain! 👍 have a great weekend ❤️

@@SetForAdventures it was a relief for sure to not be eaten! Im all for seeing bears at a distance with some daylight, but in the pitch black when your exhausted they are the furthest thing from my mind! 😂

That is one crazy hiking adventure! Wow that climb looked really steep and a bit scary! Amazing to see the cross way up there! Sounds like you made the most of it. Incredible you hiked that many hrs to get there. I’m curious when you finally get to the top…how long do you stay at the top until you have to climb back down. Such a memorable experience! Sadly with me and Jill separated at the top not long enough. probably only 10 minutes, had Jill been with me we would have probably spent an hour up there and then really struggled with the remaining daylight on our descent! ♥️🇨🇦
Watched this when it was released,this is my sort of hike ,and 20 euros a day is a bargain for car 🚗 hire . The views are stunning ,love the stone hut 🛖,and I was covered in anti mozy stuff , they loved me .what a lovely 😊 day for a hike ,plus I love ❤️ 0 people,wonder if could pitch a 🏕️ there that be so cool 😎,waking up to those views .my husband loves your town videos,but this is why I love my bunnies 🐰,so much energy and the love ❤️ you have for hiking 🥾,and 7 people not bad on way up.I would so love ❤️ do this hike with you guys ,and they always have some sort cross ,and 4 half hours there and back is a good 👍 day out .I meant be in training for Everest base , but due to hubbys cancer ♋️ and many other things happening,had to shelf it.think for me trying getting to top 🔝 would be hard with my short legs 🦵 😂.❤loved this video debs xx

Bravo.The last part of Legnone can be dangerous, unfortunately few climbers died in the past years and one military plane crashed on the top of this mountain.I think that even you took some risk in descending so late.
Your absolutely right Gianni, ashamed to say all the best planning and research failed us on this one. from two satnavs failing to find the start point to Google Maps wanting to take us up a non existent road to literature saying it was only a 3 hour ascent to the summit, everything went against us. we did think long and hard about doing a small, more accessible mountain upon arrival given the time that we arrived but weighed up the pros and cons and accepted that the latter part would be done at nightfall. it’s definitely a mountain that demands respect, id hasten to point out that we ventured up in probably ideal conditions so a lot of preparation would be necessary otherwise. one additional word of caution would be that unlike most mountains in the area there is no water available on the route, you need to come with enough for the day. we took several litres but did find ourselves really struggling with adequate consumption towards the end. we’ve learnt some lessons on this one! 👍

Oh absolutely, you can almost guarantee hearing one if your up a mountain with trees after dusk. After that jogger was killed earlier in the year the Mayor of the region stated there were 150 bears in the region and the bear restocking had been way too successful.
