Captain Disillusion gets on the last train out of meme town and performs his own version of the invisible box challenge.
I highly doubt that Captain D actually went outside to do this, I mean his editing skills are way too good for him to go outside

I've been in VFX and 3D modeling since 2005, and I I have no clue how you projected the road material onto the 3D plane with no apparent distortion. Very well done.
My guess is thay he configure the footage to bend a bit so it fixed the distortion
(camera lenses all have a slight 'bubble-like' distortion to them - think mild fisheye lens - that means things don't move evenly across the screen. Something big like a fake floor will 'slip' if this isn't accounted for)
The camera solve process that recreates the camera move can also spit out lens distortion info. Use this to undistort the image, do your projection work, then redistort it afterwards.

Yeah!! Look at Hulk smashing alien ships . Or Davy Jones with bunch of tentacles hanging and interacting with stuff. The amount of effort and time it takes for few seconds of run time.
Not just breakdowns, but reverse-engineered breakdowns by un-doing effects and then making a breakdown from that.
Not to mention doing it himself
I love the Patience Meter draining down slowly. I need one of these above my head for when people are telling me their dreams, or stories that never get to the punchline.

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Arynn Kitsune he used a green box because he was hoping to put the projection mapped shot of the ground under the main composition layer, then key out the box so that the projection mapped layer would only show where the box is. Sounds like it didn't work that well though.

Even if he doesnt have a lot if subs his quality of subs are better, 5 mill plus subs not even a quarter will watch all his videos and even less will like it. Theres very few channels out there that i watch and love all their videos. So even if cap did get millions of subs it would be in vain as those subs wont necessarily watch all his vids with as much love as we do now
You guys produce, most likely, the best videos I’ve ever seen. The continuity and story of each video are spot on and engaging, your skill, knowledge and technique is reflected in the quality of not only the editing but also the production of your videos, and your acting is Oscar worthy if I do say so myself.

Crying potatoes in one of his previous videos he mentioned how his viewers have gotten out hand and he said the fault might be his. And in this video it feels like he's toned down his name calling and bad talking because he doesn't want to send us the wrong message.
He can still sting every so often. There was no need to be mean on this particular quick D because nobody had done anything to deserve it. This was a tutorial video. There wasn't anything to truly debunk, and the guy doing the double step was just an honest visual effect he cut down with ease. The last segment was the meat and potatoes of the video.
This man is a genius. He is simply the most technically competent person I've ever seen on RUclips. I am in awe.
Ha ha, another great one Captain. And the moral of the story is, no matter how easy you think your VFX shot is going to be, it always turns out to be the opposite. On a side note, I don't think I've ever had shot where I've managed to completely use just the green screen. In fact I think using green screen for a lot of shots is a complete waste of time.
Bubblegummonsters I'd think that the contrast would help with rotoscoping, but any color that's different from object would be
SugarBooty thanks sugar booty. What I meant was unless under really good lighting set ups I find that you always end up with artifacts with green screen so a lot of the time it’s just better to go in and rotoscope as it’s always the edges that cause the most issues
If possible, I throw a negative light (magenta gelled lights) onto foreground subjects to kill color spill from a vivid green screen. This let me pull a clean key off green screened fog. But it helps in general.

I just realized that Captain D reminds me of one of my, for lack of a better term, heroes, Charlie Chaplin... And I think it finally sunk home due to the topic of discussion revolving around pantomime. It goes without saying that he's just as creative, intelligent and hilarious. But damn, he kinda looks like him, just a bit, too. Y'know, with a silver splash across his face. :)
Few people know that Charlie Chaplin also had what you refer to as "a silver splash across his face". That's why Chaplin grew his signature moustache; the silver reflection would overexpose the film they were using, and the only way to completely cover the entire lower half of his face was with a small moustache.

I think that's selling Ariel a bit short. You do need to have a lot of physical capability to pull this stunt off without any trickery. Maybe having her as a guest on a national news show is a bit much, but what she did isn't without merit.
