Incredible run. I will never get luck like this again. It felt like racing without items. Just one lightning and only a few Blue Shells for the whole run, and considering I didn't 3lap PRB GBA Sky Garden and I hit a snowman on lap 3 of N64 Frappe Snowland, I can still shave off around 15 seconds. Whilst the 51 is theoretically possible, such an opportunity with this kind of RNG will not come around in a very long time.

That's not even true just for speedrunners, but for everyone wanting to play MKDS at any level other than just hyper-casual beginner level.
This was nearly a perfect run. A better Frappe Snowland and Wario Stadium and you migth have got the sub-52
Not to mention GBA Sky Garden, that's the big one.

That was an insane run, it's crazy how you saved a lot of time, especially from saving 42 seconds on the lightning cup. Getting sub 52 minutes is going to be stupidly difficult and stupidly rare and will take a stupidly long time. What an absolutely shocking run! 👏
This wasn't just a result of the some of the greatest RNG ever received in a video game, it was a result of such amazing skill and composure throughout the run. Not dealing with shocks and reds is a real blessing, but it doesn't make PRB or avoiding CPUs any easier. You took advantage of the rare RNG very well, even with the 1/3 PRB on Sky Garden. I don't think we'll see this time get beaten for a long time, if at all. It would take equally insane RNG and risky PRB strats to replicate anything like this. Congratulations Abel, legendary run!

I had no idea you could dodge blueshells, I’ve not watched a speedrun of this before, just time trials
Yes! All you have to do is charge a mini turbo, wait until it hovers over you, time it so you release it right before impact and immediately press R to hop away. You can also dodge it with a mushroom or by going over a boost pad.

SUB 53!?!?! This lad is on fire. I just saw your other video earlier today I cant fathom how youve cut the time down even more. The amount of skill and dedication this takes is something most people will never understand. Felt like I was watching speed up footage. Good show lad!
Thanks! A big part of this run is also luck, admittedly. I was very fortunate to have an attempt with minimal lightnings and Blue Shells used.

I love doing 32 track runs, although i never knew this was an actual speedrun category, although I'm nowhere near as good as you are, I can barely maintain a snake for a prolonged time, and don't even bother asking me to do a PRB lol.
Not that it would matter, as I cannot record a 32 track speedrun even if I wanted to, I can record time trials thanks to MKDasher's method, but I cannot record a speedrun from my DSI since I have no capture card.

Out of curiosity, why don't you hold bananas/shells so you always have an extra second item ready in case you get two attacks in a short amount of time?

Actually, I was comparing with a 52m57s run, which I was about to upload beforehand. But yeah it's a huge cut - got very, very lucky with the RNG.
