  • A comet strikes the earth! Is this the end of mankind?
Experience the thrill of the cosmos with this engaging space documentary, focusing on the cataclysmic power of comets and their influence on our world. This scientific exploration chronicles the aftermath of a comet catastrophe, revealing the profound impacts on our planet. This space documentary not only marks the end of an era but also heralds the commencement of a new one - the age of the conquerors.
Approximately sixty-five million years ago, a comet made a devastating impact on Earth, causing a drastic shift in life as we knew it. Presently, we stand on the brink of a similar event - another comet is on a collision course with Earth. In this compelling comet-focused documentary, we journey with Fernando Martinez, a Mexican working in Houston, Texas, who is heading home to join his family in the face of the approaching comet.
Meanwhile, in France, the Vaton family seeks shelter, and the Baka pygmy tribesmen in Africa continue to hunt, oblivious to the looming comet disaster. Adding to the suspense, Astrophysicist Noah Boyle, and computer scientist Shiang Yatan, stay vigilant at the space observation center in Hawaii, as they try to pinpoint the exact moment the comet will strike.
Join us on this riveting journey through space and time, exploring the unpredictable nature of comets and their potential to reshape life on Earth. This is not just a documentary - it's a journey into the unknown, it's the telling of an epoch-shaping event, it's a comet saga set against the vast backdrop of space.

    What I've learned:
Lesson 1: Go to the side of the planet away from impact site (Obvious)
Lesson 2: Go to the hemisphere that's in spring or summer & stay near the equator
Lesson 3: Don't be near the coast in the first 24-48 hours
Lesson 4: Don't go out to Sea
Lesson 5: When escaping make sure you prioritize clothes and food supplies. Ignore tech because the EMP will kill it anyway

12:00 he mentioned, that borders will be closed, emergency law will be proclaimed and the national strategic reserves come into play. There are too little of them existing, for all of the people, so only mandatory members of the community will get some of them, to try to keep up society runnig - basically to keep the "deep state" alive ( I admit, a little bit cynical in translation, but in real life the truth - everyone who had served knows exactly what I mean )
17:06 he points out, that there where no such evacuation of a whole region this big in history before, a complete state like Mexico can´t evacuate himselfe in this short timespam, only individual evacuation will be induced by hundred thousands with uncertain outcome.
19:50 during the evacuation accidents will happen for shure, increasing aggression and first fights for recources will start
42:33 Until now, when major natural disasters occurred, international aid organizations brought their resources to the affected areas and were thus able to provide assistance, but at this size and without any communication due to the vast damage, there will be no help. There is not infrastructure for help existing at this point, after such huge catastrophy. The world will burn and no one is there to come and extinguish the flames...
47:23 In this situation there will be extreme challenges on an individual level. A lack of nutrition, no medicine and even small injuries will lead to death very often and quick, also infections will end many lifes. Life expectancy will drop immediately.
On a global level he points out, there will be a loss in knowlegde and stored knowlegde (lost books and brainpower), a steep decline of usable technologies for the short and mid future, a relapse into the Middle Ages is highly likely.
1:08:05 In this situation there will be fundamental structural changes within society. First of all, you need these people who can directly ensure survival with crucial skillsets to overcome the struggles of this times. The manager is no longer worth anything, and the professor is no longer worth anything if he can't do things like that.He must be able to build, hunt, gather food or, if necessary, even fight and protect themselfes and also their social group. Our known structure of society will change completly.
I hope this gives you a better understanding about the topics the German professor talks about.

Humans are the most intelligent, most innovative, most creative, and most amazing creatures that this planet has ever seen. Humans can accomplish anything, and it's pretty foolish to think otherwise, since we've proved exactly that countless times over. I will never understand why there are so many self deprecating and self loathing humans who for some reason choose to disregard the all of the absolutely mind blowing things that humanity has been able to accomplish. Fortunately, people like you do not make up all of humanity, and you certainly do not speak for all of humanity. You should just stick to speaking for yourself, while you continue to enjoy the life you have... and you only have it because humanity's success and accomplishments over the last 50,000 years or so have allowed you to have it.

To survive you need the basics. 1. Masks to keep your air cleaner ( even dust masks can help), 2 water , 3 food, 4 a weapon and the will to use it at need ( or someone else will take your preparations for themselves). Failing this you are depending on luck and as everyone should know Luck is a fickle and fragile thread to hang your life on.

    • @mattjack3983
      @mattjack3983 2 месяца назад

Sorry but a "dust mask" isn't going to be all that helpful bud. If you are thinking that "it's better than nothing", then someone needs to tell you that it might as well be nothing. If you are serious about surviving a catastrophe on a global scale, and preparing properly, then you should probably not be counting on a "dust mask", and get yourself a properly filtered respirator mask.

It's 400 degrees outside and the characters in Paris are running around with their coats on? The guy in Mexico has less of a beard after walking for days? I could go on and on. How does no one on the film crew notice this kind of thing? And what are the odds that the next impact will occur in the same spot the last one did 65MYA? It all lends an air of silliness to what could be a good program IMHO.

When the chunk of iron hit Mexico 65 million years ago, it was solid enough that it hit very hard. Comets are made of what they pick up during their travels. Some rocks, some dust, and huge amounts of frozen gasses. One comet impact in the past was loaded with combustible gasses like methane or hydrogen. Comets are known to break up before impact due to the gravity of the solar system. Those blocks of frozen flammable gasses can impact over huge areas and burn after impact. The Great Chicago fire is suspected to be one. Fires that seemed to jump start around the area. Flashing in one place, then another. Hot enough to set fire to homes and Mrs. Oleary's barn.
