Welcome to hell, here’s your Kork digital midi accordion!! It has a harp preset, just in case I'll get to go on a field trip to heaven! The good news is that I, most likely, will by one. Thank you for all your beautiful music and the fr4x you sold to me some years back. Hubert
@@CPez Thanks Cory. I saw a video you did playing it Last night. It will be ages before I can afford one unfortunately. If only I could get sponsorship from Korg. I’m good, but man you are in another league, between you, Dale and Richard Noel you must be the top 3 digital accordion players in the world. And you are certainly the best acoustic player. Anyway have a great day and if I need any information I know where to come.
Thanks for the intro Dale. I just wonder if they are going to the effort of developing the instrument why not including the real time arranger function like their keyboards. That would be a game changer especially for solo entertainers. Having backing options from their Korg PA5X would really make it a more versatile accordion.
I have no personal connection with the developers in Italy, but my guess is, product longevity. Accordion is a very small market, the Roland FR series has been around since 2010 without change. Workstation keyboards get renewed every 2 - 4 years because there is a huge market and those people are willing to buy a new one everytime a new model is released. That is not the case with accordion people.
Great news. Hopefully, the 9x (Korg) will be a most welcome addition addressing many of the concerns that the 8X has. Please tell me that there are bellow straps with this one.
Funny story. Cory Pesaturo has a sample of the accordion. When I asked him if the accordion has an internal motor, or bellows straps - he had to think about it. The FISA does not have bellows straps and Cory, an ardent Roland FR-7x fan, did not miss the bellows straps.
But DO Know guys, it is Absurdly Incorrect to call this the 9X, or say it will be similar. It is like saying the New Lamborghini Revuelto a Ferrari F8. BOTH Ferrari and Lamborghini would be apoplectic. It’s a Completely different company. Completely different vision. Almost Completely different people.
For those of us that are interested in a used 8X, is how many years can the rechargeable 8X battery last before it is unusable since the 8X battery is integral to the 8X? Can a new battery be installed to extend the used 8X life?
New batteries for the Roland FR-8x are in stock at Kraft Music in Milwaukee. It is the same battery pack that Roland has used for the last 20 years. Battery life depends on the number of recharge cycles. Typically, about 300 before the battery should be changed.
It's nice to see that Korg got onto the digital accordion bandwagon and will come out with a new compact model, as well. Roland V-Accordions are some of the most desirable instruments around, the FR-1x, FR-3x, FR-5x, and the later models such as the FR-8x, and FR-4x. Sad to see though the reality that the best instruments don't sell in big numbers in the mainstream markets. One of the most amazing products Roland has ever devised, the V-Guitar system was a commercial flop. One of my favorite musicians of all time, Alan Holdsworth, was praising the V-Guitar, and he was obviously saddened himself that the demoed a product that he was so excited about, and yet Roland had to discontinue the V-Guitar due to poor sales. I think Roland are doing well though with their excellent stage piano, the RD-2000. That instrument has an amazing V-Piano technology, which was also a big flop initially, when it was introduced with the dedicated instrument called the V-Piano itself. Today, Roland has very highly desirable lineup of instruments, including synthesizers such us the JD-XA, System-8, Jupiter-X/Xm, Juno-X, and most recently the excellent SH-4d. In guitar market the GT-1000 multi effects processor and SY-1000 guitar synthesizer are still some of the best, if not the best. Not to mention the TD-50x drum module, which is the centerpiece of Roland's V-Drums system. I hope Roland will continue producing the V-Accordions. The V-Accordions made Roland really special in my heart. Very sad to see that these types of products don't sell in mainstream markets.
@AndreBerg99 Korg is good, too. For instance, I chose the Nautilus over the Fantom for my 88-key weighted keyboard requirements, and the Drumlogue as my drum machine. Both the Nautilus and the Drumlogue are fantastic!!! But when it comes to guitar effects, electronic drums, and, most recently, wind controllers, Roland would be my choice. Although I must say that I very much like the Yamaha YDS-150 digital saxophone, too. It's beautiful!!!
Can't wait for you to work your magic on these, maestro!

Would appreciate to know when you get your hands on one if this new Korg accordion has the keyboard action of the Roland 8X or the Bugari EVO.
I will cover that when a have a FISA to demo on video.
I’ve had 1 for a month, so can answer anything Stargate 👍🏻

The good thing about Roland is that they are willing to try new market catagories. Sometimes they work, sometimes not.
@@dalematthies Right, like the Aerophone. I love the presentations by Alistair Parnell.
@@AndreBerg99 Sorry, perhaps I am too dense to understand - but are you asking a specific question?
