AURORA is a self-taught piano player and singer. She is from norway, and is 27 soon 28 years old and she started making melodies when she was 6 years old . The words came when she was 9 or 11 years old. She made runaway when she was 11years old. She is a multi talent. She can paint, dance, and make meaningful music. The newer songs are very different from what we have seen of her, i recommend you to check out her older stuff first. She is in a new area, but she still sounds like her. You have to check out her live performances the music feels even better live because you see the art being made on the stage, and it will blow your mind everytime!! its a bit hard to give recommendations because all of her songs and live performances are beautiful but i recommend her cop26 concert she sings alot of her songs that is popular and its mostly acoustic. In that way, you also get to see her speak to the crowd and understand her as an artist and what she stands for.
Aurora doesn't write about herself. She always says the music is bigger than her, and she has a longer vision about what music is and what it could do for us, it can make you dance, cry or be sad or happy. She have made a lot of songs and realised them many years after because she is realising them when she thinks the world needs it the most.
Aurora is the most authentic person I think you will see in the music industry. She writes all of her songs mostly all alone. She produces them on her own terms and make her musicvideos too. Aurora herself is art. She is also very strict when it comes to her band and the people she works with she said, "I need people that don't look at the notes while playing."
When she writes music, she has something to say. It has become more "political" she sings about the right to love, racism and the most important to her is mother earth as she call the world. She was mostly in the forest when she was a child all the time, alone, and she still loves it.. Her parents used a big cow bell to call her in to dinner. If you see cop26, you will understand it.
When she was little, she didn't like to be with a lot of people, and she only got social media because she became an artist. She dont care about fame and has a totally other view on success than others. Us from Norway is obviously so proud of her and we think its fun thats so many can see her talent and help others to feel.she iis having a norwegian tour and people from 48 countries are coming to see her.
She is just pure and so authentic. ❤

The true version of how Aurora was discovered is that a friend of hers bought her a session at what must have been a walk in studio and she made a CD ,maybe of a song called Puppet as a gift to her mother .Her mother was so impressed by what she heard that she told Aurora that she should share her songs with the world to hear. The song ,again maybe Puppet was released to the internet by a engineer at the studio without Aurora knowing or permission , this went viral and was heard by her now manager and was signed to a record deal. To this day Aurora does not know the name of the engineer but is very grateful to him now. This recording session is mentioned by her sisters in the short documentary Nothing is Eternal. Re -Lucky , Aurora says that she had the melody in her head aged about 9 and the words came to her later aged 15.

Aurora is autistic, It is not a disease to get a diagnosis within the autism spectrum. Often they are unique and exceptional people. Let them have their peculiarities. Let them have their imaginary friends. Cover everyone for dinner, and don't correct! A good example is the artist Aurora. The parents have supported her all the way, and have not corrected her. Now Aurora is a world star.

I hope Lex got to hear the song's you played before. (Runaway & and It Happened Quiet) I found Aurora the same time I found Angelina. All thanks to RUclips's algorithms. This entire concert is pure magic, from start to finish, not only Aurora's performance, but from everyone else involved, including all the other musicians and vocalists, as well as those responsible for recording it. I don't remember the songs you reacted to before, but "Through the Eyes of a Child" from this concert is one of her most popular, and for good reason. And from a couple years before this concert, "Murder Song" from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert is one of the best performances I've ever seen, by anyone.

Welcome to the Queendom Lex. It’s always fun watching someone listen to Aurora the first time. There is so much to listen to! Perhaps you should listen to her newest release to see where she is now … Conflict of the Mind. Unlike any other singer I have listen to, Aurora always write interesting songs. Not too many girl meets boy songs (but do check out Exist for Love) but songs about the climate crisis or men’s inability to cry or domestic violence … or a million other things. Looking forward to following you on this journey. If you do some Aurora all the warriors and weirdos - as we are called - will subscribe :-)

So very, very impressive. This song has a dark underlying motive. It deals with surviving mooddisorder that lead to selfdestructive behaviour. The moment she sings about is the realisation what has happened along the way and that she (or rather the subject in this song) has survived all the pain and turmoil. The whole concert is mesmerizing. My first encounter with Aurora was her single Running With The Wolves. A while later I was confronted with this concert and my fate was sealed.
Since then she has produced so much music. A great side of hers is the urge to create other versions than the album recordings of her songs. These are always very surprisingly good (understated) and mostly recorded live. Her singing qualities and her overall musicality always shine through. I wish you the same journey I am making with whatever Aurora comes up with! ❤

I hope Lex has watched your first reaction to Aurora now. This artist is wonderful in acoustic set up, well, as you saw today she's great in any set up live. It Happend Quiet, Runaway and Murder Song were a perfect way to discover her, as this one is too. This concert at Nidarosdomen is a wonder in itself, where all her songs are reinterpreted and reorchastrated. All that gives you a glimpse of the extent of her musical palette.
As suggestions, maybe one MV, and two live performances, the last of them being an unreleased song:
    AURORA - The Seed: ruclips.net/video/_Mc_OM5oNA8/видео.html
Aurora - Under the Water (Live on the Honda Stage): ruclips.net/video/zVGQWw4Ap6o/видео.html
AURORA - Animal Soul | Live on TV: ruclips.net/video/i3WK73eXK14/видео.html

Does she even look like he is convinced that she is lucky to be alive? Think of the words, "I don't know who that I am or where I go, but I know what lies behind me. Thanks Dave. Enya vibes. Not the same, but reminds me more of Enya than Joni.

She has more complex melodies and music than Enya. And very diverse also.

    I don't see or hear her as a Joni Mitchell . . . .
She is something else, not Bjork, or Tori Amos or Kate Bush, she has a style all her own, and an "innocence". If it is a bit of Joni, _maybe_ her later years, but still, Aurora is very different than many out there. Maybe a more melancholic "Regina Spektor"? I don't know all of Aurora's music, but been meaning to do a deep dive.
I had given you guys a playlist with the track "Take Me Home" a couple of years ago, which is very beautiful (and sad).
    - This was GORGEOUS :) Nice pick Dave. I'll need to find that Marathon, Nick.

@@Dave-hb7lx How funny, I was going to edit my comment before your reply and the "heart" from N&L. I had to "Hurry" out while I wrote the comment.
The more I thought about it, her _style_ (the quirkiness) is a bit like Bjork, in songs like "Pagan Poetry". I actually don't know how popular she is after her few albums. I don't listen to the Radio, or any type of stations that would even play her music around the LA area. Kind of like "Dido", she was HUGE for her 1st 2 albums, and then she wasn't. Which gets me curious to hear her later (or newer) albums.
And yeah, I've seen 1 short interview with her, as she is VERY child-like, yet she is "27". But it seems she knows what she wants sonically, and has interesting lyrical topics.
And apologies to the fans, the track I had on a playlist I created was not called _Take Me Home_ but "Runaway" (probably thee song that brought her stardom in the U.S.).
