I think Joshua Kimmich should be the priority. He can play CDM to allow Rodri to rest, he can play RB when facing a team with a slow LW or a deep defensive team to let Walker rest, and he’s worked with Pep when he was managing Bayern. He’s also in his prime at 29 years old and already knows the Pep system very well. Manchester City cannot risk Rodri facing a big injury and not having a backup.

That is why since David Silver or Aguero or Vincent Company or any City legends that left no player was made to replicate what a former player did.
