Another great video. Back in the day, my mother made something similar to the paper tree. Hers became an angel. She added a wood ball for the head, moss for hair, and a doily for the wings. I think the angel may have had hands to hold a book. After assembling the piece, she sprayed it with gold paint. The angel is long gone, but the memory remains. Thank you.
Love your paper tree! I was taught to make them when I was a little girl. My mother would give us old Readers Digest magazines to make them, and then we sprayed them with gold spray paint and then gold sparkles.. I haven’t thought about that great memory in years. Thank you, it made my evening. ❤
i really enjoy watching your episodes Lori.. and seeing all your beautiful stitching. The cats too of course! Watching you everyday during December is such a bonus! Thank you !
I’ve seen those wood pieces around but had no idea what to do with them. Thanks for giving me another crafty idea - now I just have to remember where I’ve seen them but I know I have lots of scrapbook paper to use. Keep the videos coming.
What fun to have a crafting group that meets regularly. I like the idea of the Simmer pot. Also, like the idea of starting projects so they’re ready to stitch when you get the itch. 😉
Great to see you Lori. I love that paper tree. Thanks for sharing your new starts and all those great ideas with us. I love the idea of a simmer pot. Happy Stitching!
How fun to have a group of friends to be crafty with. The trees and ornaments are all cute. You have such a knack for putting together such lovely vignettes. I like seeing how you put things together. I often struggle with making what I have not look like just a bunch of stuff plunked on a shelf or cabinet. You have a talent for it.
Glad to hear you had a nice day with friends - there’s nothing better. The trees are so pretty- what a clever idea. We will see you again tomorrow- have a great day!
How wonderful to have such a crafty friend that shares her love with your group. Those group gatherings are well worth the 45 minute drive to attend. Thanks for sharing with us on Vlogmas.
Love the look of the ornaments. Do you think you could use cut outs from old Christmas cards and maybe Mod Podge them to the wood circle or maybe using some decorative napkin designs? Thanks for the inspiration, Lori. Glad you had some time with your friends too. 😸
Your paper tree is so pretty. It brings back memories of my grandmother's Mr. and Mrs. Claus made with old Reader's Digest magazines using a similar technique. Your crafting day sounds like it is so much fun.
Yes, the paper tree would be a great idea and I am downsizing so have loads of books I need to address. What fun. Love your intro and your scenic pictures, beautiful scenery. Loved having coffee with you this morning 🎄🐾😻🪡🧵
Another really enjoyable video! Thank you Lori! I love your book-tree and wooden ornaments, they are adorable and must have been so much fun to make with friends! 💃🎄🥰
Wow, you are stirring up some great memories of my childhood. Looking forward to making those same memories for my great nieces and nephews. Really enjoy your Vlogmas videos.
Thank you so much! That’s the view off my back deck. I usually wake up pretty early and catch most sunrises. It’s super cold here, plus we’ve been having fog. It makes for some spectacular sunrises and scenery shots.
Loved your paper tree. I also have a crafty group that met every Thursday. Usually we work on what ever we want. Sometimes there is a project that someone wants to share. We made reindeer out of mason jars this week. Thanks for another video.
I love all the crafty trees and ornaments you and your friends made. I have some of the wood pieces and you have inspired me to play with them. I think they would make nice gifts for my crafty friends. Have a lovely day.
The tree is so so fun! I just got a couple old German bibles from our church that a family donated to who ever wanted them. I think it would be so cool to use one of them !😂
Your paper trees reminded of crafts we did years ago! We used old Readers Digest mags, and because of pictures and ads they each had a unique coloration. Thanks for reminding me about this! My granddaughter loves crafting and I may try either of these when she and her brother are in Christmas break! (When she was very young she called it doing arts and craps!)
Love that you had a fun crafty day with friends. The tree and ornaments are a great choice. I am definitely interested in the links for the graphics. Those ornaments are so cute and it seems the possibilities are limitless. I also use a simmer pot and love that it makes the house smell so festive. Looking forward to tomorrows video already.
Such fun crafting projects Lori , the wood ornaments brought back fun memories of my being a Scout Leader for my son’s Cub Scout troop we had the boys make those one year as Christmas gifts for their parents so much fun😘 I would love a crafting time like u have so special…
@ yes I’ve been a few times. I grew up in Bend and my first Sister Quilt show was in 1984. I attended again last year and I plan to attend next summers 50th show.
My daughter has my Moms Santa s&p shakers from the 1940’s! Also we had Christmas luncheon with our stitching friends and one of the ladies gave us each and simmer kit. Now I’d like to get a simmer pot. Lol
@ The folded paper makes his coat. His head is a molded Santa face with white cotton for his beard and coat trim. His hat is felt and his arms are cone shaped felt with tiny styrofoam balls inside for his hands. There are pretty red ribbons tied with a bow at the top of his coat. I bought him at a gift shop in the hospital where I worked. He’s in great shape for his 50 plus years!Wish you could see him! ❤️
Lovely paper tree. A few Saturday’s ago I went to a ladies evening at our church ⛪️ It was Christmas theme where I was able to make a paper angel and a ribbon tree. Plus an ornament swap and my ornament I bought home was a “J”&”Y” with a small wreath as the O for the word JOY. A fun and Delightful evening. Blessings.

Paper trees - it is amazing that a craft so old can still look new and fit in with primitive decorating. Great job on the ornaments also.
