Seen them all over the years and without a doubt it was the Who at winterland saturday march 27 ,1976 that stands out as being the best performance and in particular the BEST VOCAL presentation iv ever heard! WHOd a thunk!
Convergence of twin bandmates musical virtuoso that were meant to meet at that point in time build on each other's artistic ideas akin to synchronicity its kismet duo songwriters throughout musical history. So crazy when Roger's talking about the "Who are You" period and it was in the time of punk, saying they were "trying to find" their place in it; how ironic in a sense because not only were the Who really the prototype/ "godfathers" of punk (their '60's music/ destruction, etc.) but Pete in an earlier interview offers a foreshadowing of punk, as if he knew it was coming...what a multi-faceted band.
I hate when someone how spend many of his early years and days working his ass of have to find her place again the punks came later they were the ones how have to be more practical
