the audio on this thing is KILLER! ive never heard better surround sound on a tablet while watching Netflix or RUclips videos and music sounds amazing. absolutely blown away
My Tab S8 Ultra is still amazing! It still has a great screen and battery life is still good. I just consume media on it so no need for more power, 8 Gen 1 is still doing just fine :)
Aside the huge price, this will be a God sent for musicians. They use it as electronic music sheets and they can change pages with specially designed bluetooth pedals. 😊 (Ofc, a nieche application..)

I know there is a 13.3 inch Boox e-ink tablet specifically for this niche, but that’s also expensive. Wouldn’t a cheaper s8 ultra be the better device? Screen tech is the same, and the snap dragon 8gen 1 surely is still overkill.

I have a 4 year old ipad pro that I have maybe used 3 times in the last 2 weeks, just because I was out of office and I wanted a lighter device instead of my thinkpad. I can do the same with my mobile phone, but it's just more comfortable when I need to type out a long email or some report with a keyboard and touchpad.
Samsung "SECOND SCREEN" is a dream on this tab; I can do 2560x1600 or 1920x1200, and it's really smooth. Way better than Lenovo's 12" and 14" offerings.

A few weeks ago I bought a Samsung Book 3 360 i7 with 13.3" screen, and included the Z-pen for £799. Yes it was end of line, but I think it was the better option. I looked at the Tab S9, but by the time you get the keyboard cover, you might as well get a 2in1!

I have an S9 Ultra and I am so glad I got it, use it daily (great for media consumption) and the snapdragon chip is just a gem. Not too keen on the mediatek chip in the S10. Would still recommend the S9 over the S10.

And good cameras on a tablet are clearly not for concerts or sightseeing, but they're great for home use for example during livestreaming :). For designer the good camera on the back is a great asset... snap a scene, object or interior and immediately do a high quality trace of sketch design over the top.. as an architect been using this capability sind the first Samsunng Note 12.1 back in 2013... using an Tab S4 for the last 5 years,,, never leaves my side,,, ( my wife calls it Sammy.. my mistress) so damn reliable .. I wish it would breakdown so I could justify an S10... sigh... PS definitely get the sim card versions...
Very fast review, well done! Maybe you do some review on the screen glare/reflections performance between Tab S9 ULTRA and Tab s10 ULTRA which is very relevant for note taking scenarios? I've read that Tab S10 Ultra has some coating to reduce glare, not sure what this means though when compared with S9 Ultra; becasue like always, it is about context and relevance when one compares. I use S9 plus for note taking. I am always disturbed by the reflections of the ceiling lights ... in any room I go, becasue this is how indoors environment usually looks like ... and when you write, you always keep the tablet pointing to the ceiling in a room where you cannot control the lightning most of the time (meeting rooms, shared spaces, classrooms). Good luck!
If they put Windows there, the battery would die like crazy, and Android doesn't eat up the battery as much as Windows, and Windows 11 is a total disaster.

if the s pen does get removed there is a setting where it can detect that it isnt connected and sends a notification to the tablet if anyone was interested
Still rocking my S8 Ultra. No issues with productivity and HDR content watching (which is really what most do with their tablets anyway). The second screen works just as well with my Edge 4. AI is overrated. I don't see a reason to upgrade at such a premium price. I'll wait for some real innovations.

Or you can get a s8 or s9 ultra, they are basically the same tablet in terms of screen size and specs aside from the older chips
I use a S8 Ultra with a pedal and MobileSheets, works perfectly. Just the right size for sheet music. The pen is useful for making annotations.
