Much better cast overall. So much great voice talent was cut from this film for no good reason whatsoever. Also, a very nice tribute to the late Michael Angelis at the end of the vid.
I’m so glad I’ve actually managed to find the whole original voice cast version of this movie, I hope now we can find this and the full August 1999 script, I would hope for the May 1999 script but that script wasn’t filmed for some annoying reason I don’t know why and this voice cast is better than the cast in the final cut. Also, John Bellis would’ve been good as a Narrator in the actual Thomas & Friends Series along with Michael Angelis.
RIP Michael Angelis the longtime U.K. Thomas narrator and the voice of James and Percy. To be honest his voice for James honestly fits more than the stupid bratty girl voice James has in the Final Cut of the movie. While Thomas and Percy’s voices are tolerable since they are small engines James deserves a more manly voice to his character.
Amazing. Can't believe I'd hear all those voices together, for what would be the final footage of the film. And Michael Angelis, Keith Scott fit so well for James, Percy, Splatter, Dodge, Diesel 10 and Thomas (even if that one did confuse me a bit, but I don't want to offend John Bellis for sounding too old for the character, like the test audiences have).

has anyone ever thought about the fact that it makes NO sense that they didn’t put an official narrator of the show into their movie? it is completely nonsensical that Michael Angelis wasn’t in this movie, especially since he’s been with the show for seven years by the time this movie was released.
Something curious is that the Japanese dubbing of the movie did, they used the narrator of the series as if he were telling the movie to the people as in the series. (in addition to the fact that since the characters already had different voices instead of the narrator doing them, that cast is preserved in the film)
Listening to these, I actually prefer the finalised voices. While I don't mind Belis' voice, Glenn's voice is just iconic and works so well for the character. Diesel 10 just doesn't have the screen-stealing presence that Neil Crone has, and overall works better for the more comedic situations that Diesel 10 is often in.
