Had a crack (complete novice) at laying some bricks; just a simple planter made from demolition bricks of all dimensions. Used a laser for part of it and had difficulty seeing the laser line in the sunlight. The string is more hassle to set up but you can always see it. :)

great video and demonstration for someone like myself who wanted to see how it is done using a laser. I recently built a 3 course wall (it was my first attempt at laying bricks). My issue was not levelling but to get it at a straight line. I used the string but just could not achieve it. Probably something so simple but like I mentioned I am a novice at all of this and want to learn. so thank you for this video.
Any recommendations on which laser to buy? Thanks,

HI, sir many thanks for sharing this video.it was really helpful however I think the point is how to set up the laser device so that we can get those three lines crossing each other. so I think it would be so handy if you showed us the position of laser devices in this video.

i can see the same ones (with one smooth side and one side with vertical grooves) have been used in my house, near the foundations. I want to confirm if that means they are engineering bricks?

I said ages ago why dont they come up with something for brickies like a laser line. A small device you sit on the edge of the end brick on the wall and it shoots a line straight down to the other end.
No hassle with pins or sagging pinging or snapping lines.....seems a no brainier?

Would be fun to see you doing this with both a string line and a laser but wearing goggles that filter out the laser and seeing how accurate you get without it
