Love this story will tell it to my students, you totally should go to schools and tell these tales, the kids would adore your energy. Blessed be to you and yours
The month of October is usually the time I look forward to all year. Cooler weather, the best in food, color bursting everywhere, all things spooky and dark, and (for the US) lots of candy. Autumn just feels better deep down in your bones. However this year and the last have been hard on me: Last year I unexpectedly lost the Dog of my Life. This year, we had 2 hurricanes and a tornado all within 10 days of each other. The death of my were-beagle was clearly the harder of the two. More than anything, I miss his song. But it wasn't until this story that I've felt any sort of distraction. I could listen to your stories for hours! I hope you know that what you do matters so much. I can't thank you enough. Oh, wait -- yes I can. I can go and become a member. I'll only be a moment.
Hello! I just wanted to reach out and say a massive thank-you for all the hard work you are doing. I 1st got into your channel over a year ago when I was off work with a serious health scare. I took the time to re visit the interests I've had when I was a younger man, I wanted to be an archaeologist specialising in pre Norman England. Like tolkein I felt a sorrow and absence of the pre christian/ ancient celtic past. And as such I found great comfort in listening to you tell these stories and elements of anthropology, in what was for me a scary time, your enthusiasm gave me much joy. So thank you, you are doing more good than you will ever know Not only are you giving voice to the celtic ancestors of England, of which a lot of us are blood related.but you are providing untold joy to people who are passionate about sharing pre roman English culture to people (my American family who think celtic =Irish and Irish alone). And those who just enjoy a good story by a fire with a dragm of whisky. I shared your walk along the ridgeway, with said family from texas, they were fascinated and awed at how ancinet and tribal our and by extension their history actualy is, and how much shared similarities their ancestors.have with native american tribes. So your work has helped in a small.way to bridge a cultural divide.seveal thousand miles away, bravo!! Thanks again, a scouse fan
Hey, thank you for writing, I’m glad you’ve found something of value here. And really like the thought of a family in Texas following our walk along the ridgeway 😆 Yeah people forget that Britain (England included) has a huge Celtic past and no less than three different Celtic languages Glad to remind people of our shared heritage! 🏴 🇺🇸 🇮🇪 🏴 🏴
Thank you for another story, you are such a good storyteller. And I like the name of the hero, my dad's name was Finn. It's a traditional name in Norway too.
This was a fantastic telling! The sight of Aillén the Burner sounds properly hideous and eldritch, even outright alien, and I loved the inclusion that the sidhe are very much not used to actually walking around our world for as much as they can peer into it during the rest of the year. It really clues one into the mind of Aillén, because here he comes puppeteering himself into our world in a slipshod Halloween costume of an illusion designed only for being intimidatingly tall, articulate music-playing, and flame-throwing, and then Fionne breaks the illusion seemingly rather easily. It makes me wonder if his dulcimer would appear to expand in size too, and I can only imagine he eventually dropped it as well!
In the southern hemisphere it's Springtime, empty bird shells & baby birds, new growth springing. However they celebrate Hollow Eve. Thanks for the great story.😊
Youd be awesome to have around a fire with a couple of coldies talking shite. You might havta start doing fireside spooky stories from that part of the world
Great story and storytelling! I'm learning about the Sidhe and that fairy people doesn't mean winged, like Tinkerbell, but it sounds like they are more like demigods/gods? Or perhaps nature spirits or even the ancestors of the Irish? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I find them to be very fascinating!
No you are spot on, the winged little fairy thing comes a bit later, the original Sídhe are more like fallen gods or other world beings. Often beautiful, or otherwise strange and terrifying, or both!
Why don't they make a lord of the rings/ game of thrones style movie or TV show with these Celtic legends. It's all copyright free. I'd definitely watch a netflix show like that 🎃
@@feidhlimidhmacanaltha3644 at the end of the story, He said He's stuck The demons head on the spear. But when he threw the spear it stuck into the demons head and it was in the Demon's head while it was trying to get back to its world so when he slashed the demon the spear would have already been stuck in his head he wouldn't have had to re-stick it in his head
You make a fair point. And kudos for paying attention 👌 Lets say he wanted a better purchase 😂 Think I may have made that detail up anyway but 🤫 don’t tell anyone
Here's one for Halloween folks

What a fantastic idea! The children need stories of our ancestors more than ever. ✨🙏✨
Agreed 👍

Great storytelling. I love stories about Fionn Mac Cumhaill. Morgan Llewelyn has a great novel about him.

Awesome
To have tasted of the salmon of wisdom. But what to do with that knowledge? 💚💜 Brilliant storytelling.
You keep passing it on until someone kills you for it.

I reckon the storytellers of old would have looked forward to your visits 😉✌️...I know I do 👍👏
Interessant.

There’s not really a clear cut categorisation
Destroyed once a year ... reminds me of Grendel in the Beowulf saga
Great observation! 🧌
✨✨✨
I want to be a storyteller too!
Where can I buy that fit mate?
I’m lost 😂

They already have Lord of the Ring ripped off Celtic Mythology
