    I have the TCOP, Two Man Marine, ICS and just got the Lite Fighter One. I’m still waiting on an opportunity to set them up simultaneously and do a night to night trial. I want to try your candle method you showed us using the ECO in the TCOP Curry. I just found out Lite Fighter has a winter kit that adds an additional layer between the fly and the tent body. You guys prove the equipment so I don’t have to. I’m ready to just get out there in them. Thanks for another great view guys!

    Being from Northern Michigan we would be rocking a light jacket in 30 degrees 😆 By the end of winter, 30 degrees is t-shirt weather if the sun is out. Just poking fun. If I had your summers I'd be dead from heat exhaustion.

    I have both of the tents. Have yet to use them as intended. Set the Litefighter up and my ACU tent so my kids could have a sleep over inside with them. Did notice the weight difference with the litefighter. Liked that and the ease of setting it up. Took half the time vs THE ACU which is similar in ways to the TCOP. Hopefully come next spring or summer I will actually get to use both myself.

      You're right, there is a noticeable difference in the weight. The LiteFighter is the most lightweight of all of the tents that we have and it's easy to setup.

    Guys you are truly hardy souls 👍👍
    I'm just waiting to see you doing a snow camp, or camping in a snow storm 👌🤞
    You guys are more likely to get snow than UK unless it's Northern most parts of Scotland. UK has the gulf stream passing the western coasts and the ait temperature is warmer. Most of the UK's arctic weather arrives from Eastern Europe but conditions have to be just right as snow is no longer guaranteed unlike when I was a boy in the 70s and 80s.
    You guys stay safe atb Taff 🤠👊👊

    I just picked up a pair of the OR Firebrand gloves. Almost zero reviews of the gloves and mitts anywhere online. I like them, but they are much more difficult to remove and put back on than I expected. I bought large size, but the extra large may have been a better fit. I wear them with OR's now discontinued version of the level 7, the Colossus parka and the standard grey color GI level 7 trousers. I believe the GI version is slightly lower quality shell material than the USMC version. No reinforced seat like the USMC either. I have been looking at OR's civilian Primaloft/Aerogel booties to finish the set.
    Thanks for confirming what I expected about the Lightfighter, the short length. I also stand 6'2" and I don't like the head and toes of my sleeping bag to touch the tent. Everything else about the Lightfighter has always seemed great to me.

    I use the lite fighter in the spring winter autumn months and TCOP in winter. I’m 6’2 and felt slightly cramped in the lite fighter. Both worthy tents for different applications.

    • @robertsbushcraft

      That's kind of the only real big issue with the LiteFighter for me.

    • @goodredman
      @goodredman Год назад +1

      Agree with this. I am 6’3” without my boots on. It is a little bit on the small side head to toe in LiteFighter. The company offers a cold-weather kit. I realized due to the size and it’s really meant to fit on top of a cot my preference like you is to use a different tent in the colder months when you have more gear as well. I was actually using the rain fly from LF in the solid coyote color pattern absolutely with my 10th body from the improved combat shelter. Got TCOP recently to try for winter camping. The footprint is larger. Also having three long poles and a tent body that’s not a big inner bed net it’s much more solid in cold climate conditions with high winds.
      I have found it’s possible to use some of the components from the 3 tents interchangeably. eg. LiteFighter spider poles with the improve combat shelter inner body.

    Hey Fellas,
    I have to apologize, from the jump. Lol.. I had been waiting for y'all to do this review. I bought the Litefighter and I really appreciate the function, of that implement. I also like the TCOP but the weight difference is significant. The LF-1 has a Winter Kit, that allows you to turn the 3-season LF-1, into a 4-season shelter. The option is great and allows you to manage your loadout weight. Again, Thx for the review and i want to hear more about, what you guys think about the LF-1. -LB 😎 ❄..

    • @robertsbushcraft
      @robertsbushcraft  2 года назад +1

      We had to sideline that video for a bit, LB. What we've found so far is that where one lacks, the other shines. What really makes the difference is the intent of the outing. One has a lower profile and is easier to conceal and blocks light, the other does not, and so on. Bottom line? Get both :D

    Gabriel, I don't know how you fit in the LiteFighter without getting condensation on your feet or head. I'm right at 6' and it's just a tad too small for me. I fit it just laying down with no sleeping bag but with a bag, forget it. Either feet or pillow get wet from condensation. The TCOP has more room, but a lot heavier.

      @@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival the face screen is what puts this bivy in my favorites category. To me thats where it excels over the woodland bivy because that one will lay directly on your face. The IBC has wire inserts that form a frame to keep the bivy up off your head and face, has a mesh screen, and a flap that can be completely closed. I do feel like there is more room in the woodland covers, the IBCs feel tighter. If the woodland is too small for you, these might be as well.

    Hey Guys, great video. I really want to get the LiteFighter tent, that's been on my wishlist for about a year now after I first heard of them. What's great also is they are made here in the U.S. and they have an optional winter cover that goes over the mesh screen to turn it into a 4 season tent and they also have a bag that you can carry the tent in that can attach to your backpack.
    I have the TCOP tent also and I was wondering if you guys have had this problem also? Last summer I set up the tent in the backyard for the first time, and to make sure everything was good. I had a very hard time getting the second fly pole to insert into the last grommet, does this get easier as you use it? and maybe the fly material stretches out a bit? hope you understand my question. I haven't taken it out on a trip yet because of that. Especially if I have to set up in the dark or have to set up fast in rainy weather. ⛺👍

    • @robertsbushcraft
      @robertsbushcraft  2 года назад +1

      Getting that pole into the insert will always be a bit difficult I'm afraid. I use a piece of paracard as a loop at the end of the black grommeted tab to give me a bit more purchase on it when I need to pull to get the pole in.

      Don't know what video you watched. Both tents have bathtub floors. It clearly shows it in the videos. They just have big vestibules under the rain fly to accommodate storing muddy dirty gear so you can keep it dry without dirtying the inside of the tent. Most double wall tents with bathtub floors usually have some type of vestibule. These are just a little larger than a lot of civilian tents because grunts tend to have large rucksacks and lots of gear.
