My best friend went to school with him. He was in the Juilliard young artist program for Violin and Theatre Performance. She said he was one of the smartest and most talented people in the program. So what you're saying doesn't surprise me ONE BIT.

I was 90% sure he was backing off his page to lose weight especially since all of the content leading up to his hiatus was overly focused on how much he weighed. He was making sure people knew he was "not doing well" and said something like I'm not allowed to do a mukbang in one video. Then he started doing the podcast as a way to still make money while hardly uploading on his own channel. I'm not surprised he lost weight and I'm happy he did so for his health.

I am SO glad someone with a brain is talking about Nic. So often people who do videos on him underestimate him. Also they don’t watch much of his stuff. Nick has two video types. Comedic which is hilarious (usually), and the ones where he sits and talks and you realize he's actually intellent and well-spoken.
I never really watched him. I saw videos of him after he gained weight, and I knew he was preforming. Have you seen that movie where there’s this guy kidnapping people and streams them live on the internet? He sets them up in these machines that will kill them faster and faster as the views rise. Sometimes he lets the people vote on if they should die or not, and every time the viewers vote yes. That’s what I think he’s doing to himself. That’s what I thought as soon as I saw him. I’m probably wrong, but it seems he wanted to prove the viewership goes down when he isn’t buying and killing himself. I’m probably wrong, but I believe his motivation is complex. I mean, I don’t think he’s striving for money and fame solely.

Bros genuinely got the right idea, my whole field of study is about environmental studies and sustainability (people and our relationship to the environment and one another). I'm genuinely really impressed and glad he's speaking on these things correctly at least. There is always a give and a take when it comes to "alternative" energy.

I sat back and watched and said “I knew it, I fkn knew it.” Never underestimate the intellect of someone just because they’re young or act goofy or do gross-out entertainment or rant, or all of the above. You are playing into exactly what they want.

I haven't watched him in a few years, but before that I watched him since he was a vegan - I think if your'e like me and watched his videos (the entire video, not just the first few minutes) you knew what he was doing. He thinks of himself as a performance artist (like Andy Kaufman)- to him all of this is a role he plays - and a lot of people just believe him on face value. Which is what he wanted.

Thats how I feel. I do think he is naturally intelligent, but what he's done really isnt smart. However I think his priorities are probably very different than yours or mine. If he did it all for views then it was effective. It's totally possible that yes he was out of control and this wasn't planned and he finally realized he's gonna die if he doesnt change. People have been asking him to do a weight loss journey for a long time.
Ever see the Doc called Supersize me? the guy made millions from it and then used the experiment to inspire people to eat healthy. Nick took a page from that and did it for a few years. If he manages to go full circle and drop all the weight and do something good with the message, it could be the most impactful thing on the internet in a very long time

I see where you’re going with this and the evidence. However the irreversible damage on his body from his weight won’t be eliminated from him losing weight. Such as the cartilage in his knees or loose skin from his previous size. I don’t think damaging your body and quality of life is worth a paycheck. No amount of money is worth the money and time it will take to undo the damage he inflicted on himself regardless of it was on purpose. Even if this was a social experiment as he claims, in reality this violates ethics. A real experiment is not allowed to mentally or physically harm the participant. Nick harmed himself in both ways, so there is no “gotcha” moment.

This is SO correct. So many people (including myself sometimes) choose to watch things that instill fear (the news), disgust (fear factor), extreme just for the sake of being extreme (survivor, that one show thats like a life size obstacle course), people in toxic relationships (90 day fiancé) stuff like that rather than watching people happy, in love, and thriving. He learned how to package all those into a single character, but I could never get into mukbang.
I can relate to him a bit. I also was a vegan for 10 years and I ended it because I got very sick, skinny, losing hair and I had chronic diarrhea. Yeah vegan RUclips 2016 was bat shit crazy! The Harley and freelee breakup was one hell of a ride lol When I quit I got death threats from other vegans I know calling me all sorts of names. I gained 15 kg after starting to eat meat but I got healthier in other ways 😊
I've been vegan since 2006 and I remember the horror show of vegan youtube. I was really lucky I had really great vegans that I got to know in certain online vegan communities, but for the most part, hell is other vegans. It's getting better but it was wild for a while.

IDK Who ALR is but in general you can't treally compare male and female weight loss. It's much harder for women to lose weight in general.

This is very interesting. I re-watched your Irrelant World of Gabbie Hanna video a few days ago and you included a lengthy section on Nicholas calling Gabbie out. He had her pegged to a T and calmly and intelligently broke down the issues with her behavior. Not surprisingly, Gabbie didn't engage with him. Gabbie wants to troll, but her attempts are not intentionally entertaining the way that Nick and Trisha are. She lacks the self-awareness they do and thus is never in on the joke.

I believe he overstate his orchestration of this whole thing. Personally, I think he came into it somewhere along the way. His tendencies for drama from back in the day when he wreck the vegan community can’t be totally deliberate. It might give him some ideas. It might be one seed of many of this current tree that is his grand design. But like all good art, it is always a bit of reality and a bit of fiction. The fact that he is a brilliant violinist always gave me a hint of suspicion that this is one of the best conceptual art ever performed this century.

Thats crazy he lost that much weight that quick. Is he doin the ozempic or whatever its called? I eat healthy, go to the gym several times a week and STILL cant lose a dang 20lbs
You have to keep in mind starting weight. Those with higher BMIs and weight are more likely to lose weight more quickly than the average person who's might be lower. Basically, if you have an extra 50-100+ lbs to lose, it's going to fall off in comparison to someone who has 20-40lbs to lose.
The bigger you are the faster you can lose weight it's a fact look it up, it just melt right off. but the last 20 or 30 pounds are the hardest to lose, the body wants to hold onto it.
Well I always said if Nikacado started a weight loss journey I'd be with him. Fingers crossed!

I was vegan for around 8 years and I think something that isn't really talked about when you stop being vegan and start eating "normal" again is that your body almost goes into what felt like a survival state. I restricted myself soooo heavily while absolutely still having cravings those entire 8 years and when I finally allowed myself the freedom to eat anything I couldn't stop and gained around 60 pounds in a year and was the heaviest I've ever been in my life because I felt like every meal could be my last and I wouldn't get those nutrients again!! Absolutely just speaking from my own experience, but when I first heard of Nik that was my very first thought and I'm glad he's getting some healthy discipline back!

I always believed he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I wasn't ever someone who disliked him. I was offput by him (I guess, as is human nature) and didn't watch his videos, but the clips and video essays I've seen, of him very obviously making a joke disguised as insane commentary by, as you said, his persona, was actually super funny. I always thought he had a really dark sense of humor, but at times he could be hilarious. I was always a little confused more people didn't comment on this, that people didn't actually see this. And, usually, a monologue about "ants in a farm" could be seen as very cringey by me, Nikocado Avocado is actually entitled to say that all unironically.

I switched 3 red lipsticks on my hand and one lipstic stained. I tried to get it off with the other hand and it stained my other hand. The red stain is STILL in the palm of my hand today. I think one of my liquid lips are expired 😩😩
