This is me too! Any tips to alter the wardrobe for those of us that are older? I actually did a search across you tube and Pinterest and came up with almost nothing. The only thing I saw was to use longer tweed/ plaid skirts. Haha, I like the way the different hues of the white pages look. The lack of color from the spines makes all the other colors around the books stand out more. And I remember what books I put there, so I can easily pull them out to grab whichever one I’m looking for ☺️

For the ultimate cozy "cottage-core" vibes, PLEASE watch "Little Grey Rabbit", it's a short series made in 2000 based on the popular children's books. I grew up watching them and loved to curl up on my rocking chair and watch them when I was sick. I still have the VHS tapes :) I love the simplistic way of life, the cute illustrations, and the little traditions they have, and I only realized later that they basically are the poster children (er... woodland creatures) for cottage-core. Highly recommend. Oh and one of the characters is voiced by Hugh Laurie XD

I love literally EVERYTHING that you picked out!! Your autumn vibe is exactly how I love fall. Some people decorate in a very minimalist manner and don't go for interesting themes like Weasleys at the Burrow (my FAVORITE) or dark academia. Also those candles!! I DIE for Leaves!
I too struggle with a theme, I love so many different things. One of the great things about Autumn is that it’s about change so everything works! My eclectic plastic blow molds from childhood to my local grown pumpkins and mums all go together beautifully. Love decorating for fall/Halloween. I love candy corn. We mix two bags of candy corn with a bottle of dry roasted peanuts. It’s a favorite fall treat. Weirdly tastes like snickers.

Another video I'm catching up on. My study is going to be Harry Potter themed. I've got about 8 wands, so my son is putting up the wand rack for me. He's also gotten me some of the figures - Hedwig, Gringot's Goblin, etc. and at Christmas he got me the Malfoy cane, the map and two pop-up books. So much fun! Love the Molly theme too as it looks so cozy and OMG, my Granddaughters (13 and 8) would absolutely LOVE it if we hung candles from the ceiling! What ideas!!! It's Spring and you're making me want it to be Autumn.

I have very fond memories of watching Midsomer Murders as a family, curled up on the sofa on a Sunday night. Dad would make chicken, ham, and mayo sandwiches with inch-thick slices of crusty white bread. Home-made scones with clotted cream and raspberry jam, two black cats blissfully unaware of how needle-like their claws were, and the occasional flicker of bats swooping past the window as the sun went down. I also highly recommend Blackadder (skip the first series, they got so much better!), Sherlock, His Dark Materials (2019 version), The Watch (based on Terry Pratchett's books), Merlin, The Musketeers (2014 version), The IT Crowd, The Vicar of Dibley, Staged, Black Books, My Family, Good Omens, Sharpe, Hornblower, every Agatha Christie adaptation but especially David Suchet as Poirot, Michael Palin's travel series, everything by David Attenborough, Taskmaster, Poldark, and Jonathan Creek (magic-trick inventor who lives in a windmill solves impossible murders). And, of course, Doctor Who (start with Christopher Eccleston's series if you're curious but overwhelmed by just how much there is - it's where the reboot started and a great place to jump in). I don't know which of these are available on which platforms, but I'd happily rewatch all of them. We get so much American TV and film in Britain, it's nice to return the favour.

I actually do love candy corn and the little pumpkin mix that you get on tubs. But I am and always been fall obsessed and being born in Nov feel its just part of me. I can literally feel fall coming in bones no matter the weather or where like when I lived in HI or NC/GA . Also don't know quite when is right to add the Halloweeny type decor with autumn decor but always feel when right time is for me. Love dark academia and mix of old and fun and witchy and cozy woodland. I have a wood walled library in my home I just love.

I love that you put the books page side out. It made the leaf garland really pop against the white background and didn't distract from the cute fireplace 10/10

Great picks for your themes. I think my favorite completed room would be your bedroom! It was really great watching how you decorated your rooms. I was definitely inspired by a lot of things such as the idea of covering your kitchen counters with a wood vinyl. I was also so happy when you mentioned The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hard Castle. I loved that book too!

Another video I'm catching up on. My study is going to be Harry Potter themed. I've got about 8 wands, so my son is putting up the wand rack for me. He's also gotten me some of the figures - Hedwig, Gringot's Goblin, etc. and at Christmas he got me the Malfoy cane, the map and two pop-up books. So much fun! Love the Molly theme too as it looks so cozy and OMG, my Granddaughters (13 and 8) would absolutely LOVE it if we hung candles from the ceiling! What ideas!!! It's Spring and you're making me want it to be Autumn.

I have very fond memories of watching Midsomer Murders as a family, curled up on the sofa on a Sunday night. Dad would make chicken, ham, and mayo sandwiches with inch-thick slices of crusty white bread. Home-made scones with clotted cream and raspberry jam, two black cats blissfully unaware of how needle-like their claws were, and the occasional flicker of bats swooping past the window as the sun went down.
I also highly recommend Blackadder (skip the first series, they got so much better!), Sherlock, His Dark Materials (2019 version), The Watch (based on Terry Pratchett's books), Merlin, The Musketeers (2014 version), The IT Crowd, The Vicar of Dibley, Staged, Black Books, My Family, Good Omens, Sharpe, Hornblower, every Agatha Christie adaptation but especially David Suchet as Poirot, Michael Palin's travel series, everything by David Attenborough, Taskmaster, Poldark, and Jonathan Creek (magic-trick inventor who lives in a windmill solves impossible murders).
And, of course, Doctor Who (start with Christopher Eccleston's series if you're curious but overwhelmed by just how much there is - it's where the reboot started and a great place to jump in).
I don't know which of these are available on which platforms, but I'd happily rewatch all of them. We get so much American TV and film in Britain, it's nice to return the favour.

I actually do love candy corn and the little pumpkin mix that you get on tubs. But I am and always been fall obsessed and being born in Nov feel its just part of me. I can literally feel fall coming in bones no matter the weather or where like when I lived in HI or NC/GA . Also don't know quite when is right to add the Halloweeny type decor with autumn decor but always feel when right time is for me. Love dark academia and mix of old and fun and witchy and cozy woodland. I have a wood walled library in my home I just love.

I am continually fascinated with how you hide the spines of the books and display the pages instead. I never considered doing that, but I think my minimalist husband would appreciate it, with it looking less cluttered by not having a whole bunch of colors jumping out and causing a lot of movement.
