It's like playing in front of a loud amplifier: If you hold your guitar near the speakers, the intense sound will blast the vibrating strings of your guitar. Then, instead of the string vibrations dying out like they naturally do, they often keep vibrating. Sometimes they break into interesting harmonics if you hold the guitar in the right position.

G-string again, 9th fret, slide down to the 5th again, and turn on harmonic mode, slide up to the 7th, then 9th, then 7th again, turn on harmonic mode, and bend up to the 9th right as the solo begins (the 2 parts overlap eachother.)
Man, it's like looks a harmmonic with a kind of effect that came from the guitar, you can see he putting the fingers on place of the guitar when he did it.

Synyster Gates (schecter has it standard in models other than his signature but the purple is my favorite) uses a sustainiac pickup in the neck spot and is actuated by two switches close to the bridge (that's what he keeps reaching for).
