My cousin committed suicide 4 years ago, at the age of 14, I used to listen to this song in her memory as I felt closer to her whenever this song was on. Yesterday her lil sister (my cousin) too committed suicide at the same age. She had been on ventilator for 10 days & yesterday when I was listening this song my mum told me that she’s passed on... My father unexpectedly died two days ago, he just fell down in the morning. He was 48 years old, he was my best friend. I'm 15 , my sister is 13 and my brother is 10. My wife, Crystal, passed away a few months ago. On random Fridays we would sit around my pc after all my work was done. She would ask me to play music because she loved the way my studio monitors sound. This song was always highly requested. We would remember the people we lost, honor their memory. This song has a different purpose for me now. I have always been a bit self destructive. I would do things just to get a little thrill out of life...then I met Crystal. A drummers main function is to keep time within the band. That is what Crystal did for me. She made sure I didn't live too fast but she also kept me moving forward so I didn't get stuck in a rut. Speaking from personal experience, I lost my great grandmother, she was my sort of mother figure. These wounds don't heal quickly. You'll first be numb, then bawl your eyes out in remorse & in grief, then it hits a little less but the burden will carry for quite a while, years even before it becomes a twinge. Losing family is never easy, cherish the memories. Do what you can to honor them, but always go through the process of grief in its full extent.

This song means so much to me. When I was homeless living with my lil brother and my mom who was leaving all the time to get drugs and drink. We were on the streets when we heard her brother, my uncle, passed away I listened to this song. I still cry everytime I listen to it because I have so much words and things I have to say but people come and go at unexpected times. This song helped me deal with his death. If anyone else out there has someone who passed it gets better. It still hurts like hell but it gets better with time. I promise.

Before I laid on an operating table being told that I needed to do the end of life stuff wills and so forth. 30 days waiting for surgery because of aids I gave my own blood. As I awoke from the intense pain in sicu ,,,hoses everywhere, a machine keeping me alive ,,was an experience few will go thur. I had survived. As bad as that felt my daughters death hurts more. 💔 and now my wife's passing. I was there next to her as she passed on. Life ain't easy but I believe I've survived all this and more because I had a purpose. Just not sure what that is now 10yrs later. Alone now taking baby steps. Bloody from the punches of life. Dizzy from being knocked down repeatedly. I stand again

My father passed away 1 week ago and this song has always been a favorite of mine from Avenged Sevenfold because it really speaks to me but now that the one person I was the closest to is really gone, it hits me so much harder now. Man this song hits me very hard, I lost my mom in January of 2018 and that was the worst day/year of my life. Her name was Kim and she was my best friend, we survived a lot of hardship together and we had a special relationship. I lost one of my childhood friend today. He died of corona.. His name was 'Rashed'.. It's sad how I said 'his name was' instead of 'his name is'.. Back then when I was at high school, Avenged Sevenfold was my favourite band (it still is one of my favourite ones). So, I was in a class and showed this song to a special friend at the time to introduce her to the band. She never became an a7x fan but she really enjoyed so far away and sometimes used to say "look what I'm listening to..." This last week, after something like 5 years, she passed away. So far away was already a special music, but from now on, it will have an inexplicable meaning. There's a lot to tell her, but she's too far away. I wish I could say goodbye at least.

My wife, Crystal, passed away a few months ago. On random Fridays we would sit around my pc after all my work was done. She would ask me to play music because she loved the way my studio monitors sound. This song was always highly requested. We would remember the people we lost, honor their memory. This song has a different purpose for me now. I have always been a bit self destructive. I would do things just to get a little thrill out of life...then I met Crystal. A drummers main function is to keep time within the band. That is what Crystal did for me. She made sure I didn't live too fast but she also kept me moving forward so I didn't get stuck in a rut. Speaking from personal experience, I lost my great grandmother, she was my sort of mother figure.
These wounds don't heal quickly. You'll first be numb, then bawl your eyes out in remorse & in grief, then it hits a little less but the burden will carry for quite a while, years even before it becomes a twinge.
Losing family is never easy, cherish the memories. Do what you can to honor them, but always go through the process of grief in its full extent.

Before I laid on an operating table being told that I needed to do the end of life stuff wills and so forth. 30 days waiting for surgery because of aids I gave my own blood. As I awoke from the intense pain in sicu ,,,hoses everywhere, a machine keeping me alive ,,was an experience few will go thur. I had survived. As bad as that felt my daughters death hurts more. 💔 and now my wife's passing. I was there next to her as she passed on. Life ain't easy but I believe I've survived all this and more because I had a purpose. Just not sure what that is now 10yrs later. Alone now taking baby steps. Bloody from the punches of life. Dizzy from being knocked down repeatedly. I stand again

After losing someone very special and irreplaceable whom I have always proudly claimed as my best friend since we were in kindergarten, I was absolutely devastated... Then, as if guided by some irresistible force, Mr. Sanders had released this song on the exact one year anniversary of my brother's passing... Back then when I was at high school, Avenged Sevenfold was my favourite band (it still is one of my favourite ones). So, I was in a class and showed this song to a special friend at the time to introduce her to the band. She never became an a7x fan but she really enjoyed so far away and sometimes used to say "look what I'm listening to..."
This last week, after something like 5 years, she passed away. So far away was already a special music, but from now on, it will have an inexplicable meaning. There's a lot to tell her, but she's too far away. I wish I could say goodbye at least.
I also remember coming here and read to people comments about their losses. Now, I'm one of those people too. Just enjoy with yours because when you Blink your eyes, you realize so much things are gone.
