Trinidad laws need to be updated and the authority needs to be more serious as this is a very serious crime. A lot more goes on in a home invasion families are scarred for life as their private space and belongings are robbed, and they are raped, shot, beaten, and left for dead in some cases. Our citizens need to be protected.
I hope you Trinidadian hearing how smart, how intelligent our law makers are. This is not an offense to break in some one home. He wishes that they can go back to the law books and make this a capital offense. What? Why we living in a country like this.? Welcome to the third world. No wonder the criminals had no respect for law enforcement offers. Or laws for that matter. The size of this country and the amount of criminals is proportionally unreal. There needs to be more positive engagement / interaction by the police with the general public - for too long many citizens have lost the trust of the police service.

That's because the police are not there to serve and protect you, that's all propaganda, they are there to subjugate you at the will of the state. For instance.. if a curfew was called, there would be plenty of cars doing patrols. If you're having a private gathering to decry the government, that will become a public matter/that needs policing. They wouldn't even wait for it to happen, they would try to block it, so they would be calling you.. No member of the public can change jack 💩, but The Public can, if the public themselves weren't so challenged..!!! And because of that, things can only go from bad to worse. There will be no improvement to our misery/despair until we insist on it, starting with the man in the mirror, we need to make that change.
Correct, our laws are terrible and too full of loopholes.
