- This is a really loved classical guitar stretching exercise to improve dexterity and flexibility for the fretting hand, and I have seen it a few times on RUclips and I decided to explain it a little bit further. I already covered it in some other videos I made but this time I felt like I should dedicate an entire video to it, making sure you all get everything you need.

Thank you for the valuable lesson. God Bless and Best Wishes always.
impossible for me, ring finger and little finger dont want to be single
I feel you, take it slowly, I'm sure you can do it step by step! :)
Look easy...but is really tough for my hands....thank for this video
Its maybe a silly question but is there an excercise for this excercise. I can barely can do this with my index finger but absolutely no way with the next finger. If i put down my fingers like you do i can only move my second finger upwards or downwards but sideways i cannot move more than milimeters. Thanks anyway for the great videos.
Thank you for your lesson, delivered in most pleasant and friendly way. If I may, that sculpture in clay behind you of a sitting man moulding something, is that from Goa, India? I am from Goa and had one like that. Many Thanks, again.
my guitar string broke in 5 weeks and idk if thats normal
The part about how the fretting hand can exert less pressure as the string vibration grows narrower is good for people like me who have hands that resist relaxing.
I know this exercise
This will be a challenge for my old hands, but I'm going to give it a try. Cheers, Will.
Best of luck Will, take it slowly and try not to do the entire thing at once, maybe just until the 7th or 5th fret
Marcin is your dad 😂
Thank you. Always appreciate and learn from the youtube videos.
thank you! glad you like it!
Coool 😎
Great lesson! I was a professional clarinetist and have been studying guitar for 2.5 years. The difference between warming up for a wind instrument and a string instrument is huge. I never realized how different the ergonomics of the two would be.
That's very interesting! I would have thought there has to be some similarities, at least for the fingers. Good luck with guitar! :)
@fuffy442 Did you learn that by trying to blow into your guitar's headstock? 😄
i find this a tough stretch between the ring and little finger specially at the 1st to 5th position , but i keep at it 😊
take it easy, you got this!
Thank you, I’ve never seen this one. This is extremely difficult, I can’t even do the first chord..
Thanks mam. Now i can try to play guitar. Take care and god bless.
I enjoy this exercise. It reminds me of Chopin.
Great video. I'm learning Classical Guitar so this helpful.

Diminished triads on each string.
Reminds me of a stretch that helped me make significant progress (over time like you said).
It was a John Petrucci stretch that was in his "Rock Discipline" instructional video (same kind of 4-finger slant, but he was walking it up & down the fretboard). You might even try flipping the slant over like he did, it helped me alot.
I saw this on one of your previous videos. I noticed I can easly do it on higher frets up the neck but not on the lower ones am really having a hard time starting on the 12th fret. Whatam I doing wrong
The distance between frets gets larger as you go down towards the first fret and so it becomes more difficult to stretch your fingers. It's actually normal.
@@delangelarte3324 I think you misunderstood i mean in the reverse order starting on 1ste fret easy, starting on 12 is hard
maybe try starting at fret 10@@komatikvengeance8811 ? maybe that will work better. it's not a rule to start at 12, hope this helps!
