I have found that most punches, no matter how expensive, do not like to punch through lightweight papers. Vellum is especially tricky. Adding a layer of a stiffer paper behind it usually solves that problem. It's always fun to watch you having fun.
When you put the round body on the heart butterfly, I saw the beginnings of an angel! A cone shape under the "head" for the robe? And a gold halo? IDK...you get my imagination flowing! Cute ideas...TFS🤗
Today's episode is about paper punches, in where Pam wonders aloud whether caterpillars have feet. Only here are such riveting and esoteric questions pondered - aloud - and then drawn into life complete with a smile. You made my day. ~ Lisa
You are so fun to watch!! You can forget about life's heartaches & strife and have fun. Love your butterfly & caterpillar!! Maybe he had a rough night & couldn't hold his head up!! thanks for a fun video. I'm my church's secretary & the passed 2 weeks have been horrible-nothing but calls from people asking for prayers for loved ones with COVID. It's nice to plug in to my You Tube friends & listen to happy people like you, Pam. You fiends be safe out there. Prayers for all of you.
Hi Pam, I missed having my cuppa with you this morning. It's now 9:00 pm here in TEXAS. I absolutely could not go to bed without my Pam Paper Outpost (PPO). The beginning of my day was just not the same. Love all my punches. TFS You are my day starter!
Omg Pam! My circle punch been doing this - and certainly cuts better sometimes when I use scrapbooking Papier instead of coffee dyed paper. Now I know why. Thanks to you.
I have also used the negative shapes as a stencil, the thickness of the paper will determine how many times the image can be used. Sometimes, if the paper has held up after stenciling, I use that as an accent on a page.
Somewhere along my crafting journey, I too joined the ‘must buy a bazillion punches’ brigade. Thanks for the tips and the reminder to actually use the darn things. At this very moment I am punching leaves out of colorful fall pictures in a magazine. 🍁🍂 Enjoyed the video as always. Thank you for sharing your talent and time with us. 👍
With the flower you made at the beginning of this video, instead of drawing leaves, you could cut out a heart and then cut that in half lengthwise and use each half as a leaf. Just a thought.
I enjoy when you say "create with recluse abandon". I may have told you that before. I also love seeing your messy desk. So much inspiration all around you.
Pam: boy you had fun! Your tip of doubling up to punch so it doesn’t get stuck was s good one. A good reminder as what to do with punches. Super! Carol from California
I try to watch other you tubers to learn like you suggested but I can’t enjoy them. They are not YOU. The amazing simple tips and the reckless abandon are unique to this channel. The topping on the paper cake is Sunny and your happy laughter. 😊
I had a punch I hadn't used in a long while and it wouldn't squeeze all the way. I sprayed it with some WD 40 ( water dispersant) and, after lots of squeezes on scrap paper to remove the excess spray, the punch was as good as new!
I have a small punch of a cat walking and I punched the whole side of the page and put a different color pocket on the page behind it. It turned out really cute. I used the little ones I punched out randomly thru the rest of the journal lol I gave it to my daughter who is a crazy cat lady ;) It is fun sometimes just to experiment and see what you get. Thank you for sharing with us Pam!
Punching tin foil sharpens them and gets the glue off when I’m impatient (which is often)…Sunny is the sweetest and I love his new friend …great tips Pam!
The tin foil thing has never worked for me. I’ve hauled out a dozen or so to create a ready stash of hearts, leaves, stars and blossoms. Thanks for the reminder!
Hey sis n sunny n papa n feathers , iv been filling up 6 ephemera books today , remembered all your birds n flowers iv got in the past now I can see them all xx sp
Aluminum foil sharpens scissors ✂️ make sure the shiny side is up while cutting long narrow strips. My neighbor friend worked at hallmark store gave me the tip! Thanks Pam & Sunny
Wow what a great idea to use paper punches I have a die cut for the hearts I will use it to make flowers and butterflies thanks for the tips Sonny is a great fur baby I have a Chihuahua and he brings smile and laughs to us too
Hello Pam! I just love cute as a button Sunny with his Lamb, just made my morning! Great ideas with the punches and it reminds me I have a box of the scissors that cut all different shapes I forget about them to. Hope you week is going good so far, hubby and I celebrated out 41 years of marriage yesterday. Take care!
Love...and I hated red tide when we lived there. And my husband worked on home water softners the beaches and it would kick his tail... I just love your videos. And that little guy Sonny! 🥰
Your videos really encourage " playing" with supplies . I think that can inspire creativity and inspiration!! I don't do that enough ,I don't have natural artistic talent, always rely on examples from others!
Thanks for sharing Pam. I have 2 circle punches that I was thinking of getting rid of once we get moved and they're unpacked I'll give him a shot with doubling up the paper! I'm glad I waited they're practically new punches it just started not working as well!! I have so few items I can't take the chance of throwing something away if I can fix it. Namesta my sweet friend 🤗🐞🥰
I must definitely get a circle punch they are so versatile. Another fun and informative video. You are always a delight to watch Pam. You make crafting such fun. Sunny is adorable. Blessings to you.
Lots of cute ideas, Pam. Thanks for the reminder to revisit our punches (and even other crafting tools) and use them in new ways. TFS. From Cheryl in AZ.
I love using my punches...you can use your negative hole punch to put pictures behind them or small flowers or leaves...but I adore your Caterpillar...haven't done that yet but will be ! So so cute 🥰
I got out my punches just last week, this is very timely for me. New ideas are always fun, thank you. I read somewhere that using waxed paper by punching through it several times, help to lubricate and it really does work well, has sure helped me. Aluminum foil will not sharpen punches. I have seen on amazon some sellers do say to use foil for sharpening, anyone that knows metals will tell you different,
Punches I love them and I hate them, well maybe not hate, but they frustrate me when the punches 'stick'! YOU just gave me a solution, and it works!! Thank you, Pam! 🥰 Hi Sunny Buns! and Lamb Chop! whom I remember from childhood 🤣 hello from rain-stormy Denmark 🌸 🌱
Great tips in your video, thank you. I also found that the thinner the paper the more you will have to use 2 or more pieces of paper to use those punches. Regular photo copy paper is not that thick, so doubling up is a great idea :)
Enjoyed the video while de-contructing old books for future projects. I'm in the Tampa Bay area and wonder if the red tide, mold from all the rain, or old book dust is causing my allergies to explode....I know I've been talking and hearing funny for weeks.....thanksfor the fun.... Carolyn
WOW! Thanks for sharing. My craft area is filled with thrifted or used things like punches and ink pads. I just tried your tip using my pitiful circle punch and it worked! YAY!
This was fun! At the start I was thinking (worried) that I was gonna have to go purchase a bunch of different punches but then you got busy with the one inch circles and I breathed a sigh of relief, cuz THAT I have. Whew! That was close! I've seen those mega-punches before - the kind like your heart punch - and was wondering if maybe it's for punching lots of papers at once, even more than the two or three pages that "fix" the smaller punches (brilliant point, I might add). Don't have a bigger punch like your heart one... it was just my thought. Thank you sweetie, from the SoCal desert, MK 🤗❤🏜
Morning Pam from Denver CO! This video could not be more timely. I was just thinking about buying new circle punch and corner rounder, but after doing what you suggest, VOILA! Good to go and don't have to spend any more dough! I also find that if I glue two pieces of paper together and don't wait until they dry, the punches don't work so good. Thanks also for the ideas for combining shapes and using the negatives!
I have to give you a 👍-I have about 6 or7 punches in the drawer & most of them are duds..I will try your techniques & oh that caterpillar is so cute....thanks Pam-margy
looks nice and I can do this good nowe because the first thing I make from one paper its go wrong and it makes me sad that I buy it and dit not howe to do it then I do it with 2 papers and yesss it makes my day ! Its always trying again over and over I love it bye Pam ❤
Just a word of caution about those punches with the handles .... if the paper is too thick the handles can snap right off... mine did just on a plain piece of cardstock! I have a huge collection of punches and that style is my least favorite. Thank you for all the great ideas! Lots of love and Happy Punching 😁
You have a video about making small paper boxes. Those boxes would be a great way to store a surplus of punched birds, leaves, stars, tulips…and how cute on a shelf or cabinet top.
I have found that most punches, no matter how expensive, do not like to punch through lightweight papers. Vellum is especially tricky. Adding a layer of a stiffer paper behind it usually solves that problem. It's always fun to watch you having fun.

If you mod podge or varnish the negative it lasts a long, long time. I hang my most often-used stencils on a peg board behind my work table.

Love the heart punch border idea!!! So clever and cute!
Your caterpillar is adorable! Thanks so much for the ideas 😁 I only own a circle and butterfly punch, and you just gave them new life.
Thank you Pam , great fun to use punishes. Sometimes you just forget to use them. 🙏
I find I can get into a rut when remembering to use my punches. Hmm! Thanks 4 stirring-the-pot of endless creating! You rock!😊🌻
Sunny and Lammy...so huggable and sweet!
I am learning so much from you! The journey is enjoyable. Thank you so much
A new perspective on punches, love it.
Makes a lot of sense to all the junk journaling people.there's no wrong way to make a journal.
Love the caterpillar! ❤️. Great suggestion of doubling paper and it sure seemed to solve the problem. Hi Sweet Sunny! 🥰

Good mid morning all! Will have to get out my old punches and try these tips! Haven't used them in awhile. Thanks for the reminder! 💕

Thanks, I didn't think about using paper double. I bought a very expensive punch that doesn't work. Love your Chanel!❤️Ellen
I think the caterpillar is precious!
The butterfly you made from hearts and the circle reminded me of a wrapped up piece of candy when it was situated in the center position. :) -Kryste
Just love your inspiration, and baseball worms! Too cute! Always look fwd to your videos!
Ooh lots of good fun Pam. Thanks for sharing the tips.
I have a bunch of the little punches and I too thought some of them did not work. Thanks for the tip! Sonny and you always add sunshine to my day!
