For everyone worried that he isn’t getting scraps: notice how it follows the manager around, watching him intently. He knows him. I suspect he probably does get a cheeky raw fish scrap now and then

He's a crowd puller, make him his own corner pool/perch and you've got people coming miles for their fish and chips to see him.
That sounds kinda theme park-y, in my opinion. Possibly cheapen what appears to be a successful business.
It seems to me like the nonchalant approach works fine.
The pelican be like: this restaurant makes us wait for too long, i give them 1 star.
They really are beautiful birds. You can see the direct connection between them and dinosaurs.

It's a pain being short. Nobody serves you. I don't even know if staff were aware it was there.
Theres a duck who lives in a pond of some nursing home and commutes to the local Starbucks every morning to look cute and get fed. He'll sort of check you out and then walk right up to you pass the vibe check. Then by lunchtime he/she goes back to the pond.
Now of course theres a sign right next to where he stands which says "Do not feed birds", but seeing as he/she's there every single morning, I doubt people listen. That duck has been doing it for years now.
He finally managed to come out of poverty by getting a degree and a job. Let him do his thing.

Poor baby 😥 he wanders in the shop, nobody is going to give him a little snack. He's completely desoriented and all of those people are freaking scary to him. Try to put him in a corner or even pet him. That's far from normal...
Actually, he doesn’t look scared or disorientated at all. It looks perfectly comfortable. I would say that people acted entirely appropriately by not touching it, giving it some distance, and generally ignoring it. The bloke who was standing in the doorway should have moved away, but apart from that it was all good. And it is pretty normal in places like The Entrance on the east coast.

There's really a Pelican just chilling in line, and everyone's acting like it's just another day. The poor thing is waddling around casually awaiting someone to feed it.
But what the birb doesn't know is it would immediately find a home with me. Because i need that birb in my life. And we would be the best of friends until the end. I'd feed it all the food it wants and call him/her fred.

Should have gotten some fish. He's a good polite patient boy. Maybe they don't want to encourage him, but he'd be a nice attraction for a small price as he comes in every day for a free meal, and I'm sure they have plenty of scraps to give him.

To anyone asking "oh why don't they feed it"? You don't want to encourage the wild animals to start seeing your shop as a potential food source, because it can clog and slow down the actual business. That, and they can quickly make a mess of the place, which drives off potential customers.
