One thing to consider is, not everyone is great at shooting pistols. I can't ever seem to shoot accurate. With that said, by allowing me to have 2 grips (magazine holder and pistol handle) and using the brace. This greatly improves range accuracy. I believe that's the purpose of the recover 20/21. But i do appreciate the honest review.
As a poor boy, I like that it turns a gun I already have into something new instead of having to buy a whole new $500+ gun. The kit is cheap but also sturdy and reliable. Best way to look at it if you have a Glock already is it's a under $200 pistol caliber PDW with Glocks reliability.
Also the holster it comes with basically lets you holster a pdw even if you got a suppressor, outside waist band or leg drop. A good setup would be 66 rounds (two 33 rd mags) of 9 mm suppressed glock pdw holstered wasit band or leg drop which every you prefer, a backup 6 shot 357 magnum on your ankle, and your primary a AR pistol or rifle.
Rescuing a family member who is in a major city during a riot, for example. Situations where you still want to be covert but are somewhat more likely to get into an engagement.
@@albinosh4dow keep living in your call of duty fantasy land, bud. Carrying three guns is only gonna serve to slow you down and get you clipped by a jackass with a hi-point.
Due to long work hours, I often end up caring for my chickens late in the evening after dark. On more than one occassion I've been outside when a pack of coyotes started howling across the street on my neighbors property; I'm guessing maybe 50 to 100 yards away. I've even had them come as close as 20-25 yards on my property and whistle/whine hiding in the tall grass. Although I doubt that they would bother me I can't say the same for my animals. My Gen 3 G17 with the recover tactical kit, olight Baldr weapon light, and holosun 507c mounted on the upper rail has been my "go to" weapon system to carry in these cases. It's super light, it doesn't scare my neighbors if they happen to drive by, and, with the paddle holster, I can keep working with my pets without it being in my way. I could certainly just use my pistol without the brace but I appreciate the added control, accessory mounting options, and included minimalist sling, that come with the use of the recover tactical kit.
I’m gonna plead personal preference when it comes to the recover tactical brace 😂. It works for me just fine. I’m glad you did an update video on it. The red dot mount helps a lot There are no situations where this couldn’t be switched with a regular pcc but like you said, it’s affordable and if you have an extra Glock, why not 🤷🏾♂️.
I like mine as well. I also realized the issue when shooting with night vision, but what I did was just not use the charging handle. The thing is, your gun locks back anyways so you only need the slide release. If you do malfunction, you still have plenty of grip on the slide to clear it. Stock glocks really don't malfunction I think because the brace on the frame really makes the slide reciprocate hard. Although I think that my M11 (Mac) does the role a lot better if I had to choose only one. But it is a few hundred dollars more than the recover setup if you consider you need to mount a grip and a silencer rail to fully get the same benefits. I would definitely take the recover over an UZI, MP5, UMP9, Vector, or other large SMG platforms that basically are the same size as a blackout SBR.
It amazing how well this works if you use it as a brace instead of a stock. You can't seat it like a rifle butt. Grip it as close to a normal shooting grip as possible. Draw the pistol towards your chest while keeping the same sight picture... when it makes contact near your collarbone, that's your stance... or it just don't fit you. Great channel, great vids.
I'm a chinlet/cheekbonelet so I haven't had many problems shooting my 20 with an rmr on it. I also have a 7" compensated barrel in the gun so it's a little more comfortable to shoot it even with very hot loads. I carry it as a woods/hiking gun with wildlife defense loads
Going back to this after a time, I had wanted to get the FLUX but couldn't justify the price and switching over to a P320 since I already got tons of Glock mags. This IS meant for a specific purpose and it's to turn one of my Glock 19s into a dedicated SHTF backpack gun I can take out that's low enough profile than my shorty AR-15 that is not only heavy but also paints a larger target on me if I decide to actually use it vs a "get home gun". A shorty 11.5 inch AR with a LAW folder limits the type of bags you can carry and there's the weight and size of the many spare mags you need to carry around. Sure A G19 with 2 spare mags is also some weight and if I plan to keep this, I would be using the officially Glock 33 round extended mag, a bunch of 9mm mags will also be carrying a lot of weight but if I set expectations for what purpose is this gun, then I know exactly what I'm in for. It is NOT a go to war gun. It's an emergency gun that will give me extra firepower than a standalone pistol. I know some people, who thinks they are John Wick with handguns but let's be real. NONE of us can ever be John Wick level of good. A pistol can only fight so much especially if you are overwhelmed. A PDW 9mm gun even one in the same barrel length will give you more to fight your way out of something
I'm actually working on getting a replacement optics rail (since they sent me one for the smaller 20/20 kit) for my 20/21 kit I put my Glock 40 into. Figure it'd be a great PDW setup with a Romeo 5 on it, and while I can get my face low enough to use irons, I can totally get why most folks couldn't do it comfortably. Doesn't exactly make for the fastest aiming since getting your head low enough takes a second. Also glad to see I'm not the only one who uses their off-hand to throw the brace open from the foregrip position instead of using the dumb nub to open it.
@@touge242 Nah, was just setting it up as a fun around the house gun, and while I would have carried it, turns out the idea needs more work [lighter springs, primarily] before it's functional enough to trust as a defense gun. Still damn cool looking though, nobody can fault it on sheer style.
For me, this makes an excellent PDW for work. I modified the brace with wood and a cap to make it into a proper stock. To use the Iron sights, you have to Dremel off the flap
@@Win7ermu7e consider it an 80% smg accessory. If you have an auto backplate, as I do, it can be finished into a deployable smg using a Glock 17L, Enforce WML and wood/ tape for the stock. I cut off the top flap with a Dremel and it makes the perfect sidearm to pair with a good one point sling. It is much smaller and lighter than any other options available
@@Win7ermu7e ditto... especially with the new optic mount... all they need to do is develop a charging handle and they can put all PCC's out of business...

Great review of the red dot mount, I was on the fence about getting the mount but now it makes perfect sense to add it to the 20/20 especially sense I don’t have any Glock optic cut slides. Thanks Hop!
@@jobiesotelo3385 I got it about a month ago. I like it, but haven't shot it or packed it around yet. My only gripe is that it has a little wobble in the brace.
My biggest gripe with Glock/P320 based "PDW" thingys is that there is no external safety. Slinging one of these is a real worrisome way to have something on your gear make it inside the trigger guard. Some piece of plastic that flips up and blocks the trigger is essential in my mind. Mind you, thats not an issue when you keep your regular Glock in your hand or in a holster.
@@bradleyweiss1089 but now you're carrying on an empty chamber. Or worse, god forbid you have to do something that requires two hands then have to unload your firearm.
Someone worked out that you can remove the trigger guard from the paddle holster that is sold with the kit and run that on the chassis by itself. It's a small c clip style of block that's held on by friction on the guard so you can attach some cord to it to make ripping it off easier or attaching it to your lack or whatever. An on board safety would be better but it's doable for some
The takeaway for me is that they need to cant the strut lower. This guy has some of the highest cheekbones I've ever seen and he still needs to grind into it.
Used with a G34 and either that riser or maybe one of those see all open sights i could see this being a decent CQB weapon provided the see-all isn't a hunk of shit, stick to 20 rounders for consistency it could serve many of the roles you listed, or the typical urban commando fantasy of carrying a pdw in a small sling bag. or (if you live in portland, seattle ect.) a realistic edc.
Hop nailed it = great as a kit gun. It would be awesome with a rimfire/G44 for near rifle-like accuracy capability but still super compact to take along and easier to shoot than a handgun.
I have this for my G34. In Canada we can actually get the brace to stock adaptor because we dont have SBR rules (we got way more shitty laws but SBR aint one). The optic mount makes it really nice CQB PDW
@@pollock56th i kinda want to but i dont to pay shipping on a one item. I think i might wait until they make one for the sig p320 and than order it together to save on shipping
I just found out, that they make a steel sight tower, that is supported on both sides. (GB20.) You can't use their holster with it though. Thanks for the share!!
I never knew you had a video on the Recover. I bought a kit one day a few hours before me and my buddies went shooting and it actually worked pretty well with a Glock 17 and a Holosun 507. Maybe I just have a head perfectly designed for this thing.
I have no trouble using the iron sights . You do have to adjust your shooting tech. The same way as when you shoot a Keltec Sub 2000. And the brace does not hurt when I shoot it as one reviewer whined about. And you will be more accurate at longer range . I like it .
It's not really that much better. The slide is longer, but the frame and height is the same. Haven't tried it, but something like a TMP might be better.
@@andreivaldez2929 a G20/G40 is a 10mm. It has SIGNIFICANTLY more energy (knock-down power) than 9mm. A good 10mm round will produce 700+ ft/lbs of energy, compared to the absolute best +P+ 9mm, at 500 ft/lbs of energy.
@@rdsmith334 you should check out Doc Gary Robert's work on terminal ballistics. You'll be surprised at how close the actual effects are between something like 9x19 and 10mm auto. The only thing 10mm offers in reality is better penetration which depending on where you live and what you expect to do (ie shooting bears or through car doors) could be a good reason to go for 10mm. But in terms of actual damage to organs in a human, you're getting almost the same performance out of any pistol, but slower follow up shots and less capacity the bigger you go.
Wish they'd make one of these kits for the PMR30. I got one for my P80, and I'm thinking I *finally* have a use for my spare Sig Romeo MSR. Always hated it because it doesn't have shake to wake, but for something like this that you'd presumably have on your person for long hikes, etc you would pretty much not want the thing to be shaking on all the time, which is what would happen with a Romeo 5.
Wife is 5' 3, my idea of light is not hers. Hiking in bear country necessitates bear spray & firearm. Taurus TX22, 10/22 charger or a 10mm pistol in this brace kit? TX22 is lightest but least viable, Charger is too heavy for an all day hike on top of gear, but a G20 (G29/G40?) in this brace is a balance. If desperate, a 10mm could take deer-size game for food.
Good stuff, I've got a g34 in one of these with a red dot and a streamlight HL, usin glock 17 round mags with plus 5 taran tactical base plates. I do have a few 31 round mags with plus 2 base plates just to mess around with. Personally the idea for me was to make the smallest capable option possible so using 33 round mags kinda defeated the purpose and added more weight to the overall setup.
I really liked the 20/20 up until the tfv review. Thanks for pointing out its flaw. That optic mount is not a fix. Now the cobra stock is looking better for me. Luckily we don't have to register it in our part of the world.
I have both the recover and the cobra. The cobra is super comfortable to shoot. I use a holoson red dot and the the fab defense foldable forward grip. The negative to the cobra is the "side to side" slop in the stock. It is not a deal breaker and still plenty accurate. The 2020 is not as comfortable, but way more stable than the cobra. Accuracy for me seems better with the 2020. I am in the 🇺🇸 so I decided to SBR the pistol so I have all the options.
I have a 20/21 with a Glock 30S with extended Barrel and comp. It works great. It doesnt feel so awkward like this doofus makes it out to be. Hes intentionally making it look awkward, or, maybe its his birdcage and anorexic arms that are the problem. The system is solid and only flexes if you really put alot of effort into it, under normal hold there is absolutely no flex. The pic rail is solid as well, but a bit high. I think an optic on the pic rail is good for zeroing past 100 yards while keeping the irons for close range under the optic. Or, I installed tall sihhts and made a huge difference with the hold. No need for a slide mounted optic with tall irons. A laser is also a great addition to this setup. I currently have a rifle laser/light and works great with a grip control. It can be holstered, sling is still in its package, never used it. This is now my woods setup running 45super. Its amazing.
This is something I’d keep in my glove box and at range so sick and glad I can buy again legally what sight is that? Also a good option for me bc my g45 isn’t optic ready
I use a 20/80. Light mounted on the right side, a smith and wesson m and p sling, romeo 5 on the top. I have a glock 17L on top of my p80, so a bit more velocity. I carry it in a laptop case as an anti car jacking tool, a backpacking tool, and a very nice maneuverable property defense tool. I live in a city, and this thing gets around just about every assault weapons ban they throw at us.
Alot of people just saying "build an ar9 or go pdw". But if ur doing an ar 9 chances are u want something small and suppressed for maneuverability reasons. Realistically you are not shooting a 9mm anything over 100 yards and shooting further you are reaching for 556, 300, and so on. So whats the difference between a 5 inch handgun and 5 inch ar9... well more points or contact and control so I don't see why thing or a micro conversion wouldn't be a smart choice cause you can take your glock 19 out and conceal then at home slap it back in and have your home defense gun at a much cheaper price point
Crazy idea… cut the brace off and you got a race gun optic mount with holster option. Make it metal. Fix the flex, and option for rmr/pic mount. Save on milling the slide, still have irons, and don’t have to waste money on changing holsters if you change optics or lights.
I find it kinda funny how stocked handguns are making a comeback. Every handgun in the early 1900s had a stock; the Borchardt C93, the C96, the Luger, and the FN Model 1903, just to name a few, only for the concept to be almost ditched. Now here we are, 100 years later, realizing how practical it is to have a compact, stable firing platform, that’s lighter than most SMGs and SBRs. I just hope Beretta starts selling the Raffica’s stock and foregrip, so we can slap it on the M9A4.
Glock 34 or 17 with a threaded barrel, Griffin EZ Lok adapter w/CGS Mod9SK, TLR9 maybe?, Aimpoint or Fakepoint, and a sling. I do kinda like BrassFacts theory on these as a PDW. I think it needs to be suppressed and needs to be considered an ultra light off body carry. Basically being okay with it being more overt is a requirement for it to make sense.
After going to a big homeschool convention in a major city, seeing the 150+ yard shots that could happen in the convention center and while touring around the city plazas and urban parks with my family, I've been thinking about getting something with a stock and, ideally, better ballistics than my pistol BUT I also have little kids hanging off me, diaper bags, AND all the crap my wife purchased along the way. My backpack is full. An SBR even with a folding stick takes up basically the whole bag. I can't carry TWO backpacks, one JUST for a rifle lol. So these pistol chassis like the flux raider have caught my eye. But the raider is stupid expensive and you still have to supply a gun to go with it. You've basically had to spend $1500 to get it set up. I have a spare Glock already so this is very interesting BUT I'm deeply concerned that it doesn't have a manual safety...so this is probably a no go for me.
Hop looks pretty tall. This brace should be fine for tiny people. And it make sense for real spec ops as a quiet gun for guard/dog disposal and shooting lights out, because it weighs not much more than a standard pistol, kinda stable, can mount a suppressor and be carried on a hip. Or it's cheaper to buy this kit and Glock auto sear (for LE/Military) than a whole new toy like 2500$ B&T MP9.
I have tried all of the "Braced pistol PDW" options. While interesting and some were definitively more practical than others ( cough, Flux Brace, cough) I just could not reconcile their use for my purposes. So I instead opted to go with a B&T TP9 equipped with a Vortex S.P.A.R.C. red dot with an A3 Tactical folding brace. The result while definitely not cheap by anyone's stretch of the imagination was a very lightweight, well balanced, low recoil, very practical, and compact quick into action 9mm PDW with an admittedly awful trigger on par with an HK MP5K, but still very ergonomically correct and easy enough to shoot exceptionally accurately. The weight difference between the proven HK MP5K ( or clone) and the B&T TP 9 is not insubstantial. The TP9 is a whole 2 pounds lighter, though the recoil of both platforms is strikingly similar, smooth and exceptionally controllable for both. The Braced TP9 handles like a dream, conceals easily under a lightweight jacket with the flush-fit 15 round magazine inserted, and inside of a re-purposed laptop/messenger bag with the 30 round magazine equipped. Like the MP5K, it is very easy to transition from target to target quickly and apply accurate fire, but one will have to train to the heavy trigger on either. Thankfully the trigger is a straight in-line "sliding" action as opposed to a pivoting action so while it's not super fast it does not really change the point of aim if the shooter performs an "overly enthusiastic" pull of said trigger. The Braced Glock and SIG pistols are not at all "bad" ( Well *some* are legitimately AWFUL.), but they are definitely not a "replacement" or "stand-in" to a good purpose-built 9mm PDW. *There sadly is no such thing as a "Cheap 9mm PDW", and there is no such thing as an "Ersatz 9mm PDW". You either have a 9mm PDW or you have an adapted pistol which ranges from "uncomfortable but handy /practical", all the way to "Useless piece of Tacti-Crap /Snake Oil".* It's a LOT like Night Vision Devices.. you can have good, you can have cheap, but you're not getting both, you have to pick One.
There is a cheap 9mm "PDW", masterpiece arms. They even have an "uzi pro" mini clone which is great with a brace and silencer. And macs are probably one of the easiest guns to make. You can make the entire thing from scratch for less than $50 of materials, and plenty of various build plans and template designs you can download in PDF form online. Chambered in 22TCM, it's basically a better MP7 if you want power and small size over capacity.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Masterpiece arms creations are MAC clones.. and not particularly good ones. Even if they were exceptionally built living up to the company name? The MAC 10 and MAC 11 are products of their time.. bulky, remarkably heavy, high on recoil due to being blowback, short travel and HIGH Weight for that bolt. You can update such but like the micro Uzi? They were good for the 1970's and 1980's but take a lot of work to modernize and for frankly dollar for dollar and hours spent? A rather poor and ill fitting choice of Psuedo PDW. The braced conventional pistol is a more practical, more ergonomically correct more compact, lower recoil, lower effort and lower cost option compared to a MAC clone.
@@reignick1133 Have you ever actually shot a M11? The recoil between the two are nearly identical, and the bolt weight is also nearly the same. The advantage of the TP9 is not in recoil it is in managing ejection port gassing, which for the most part isn't really an issue. The M11 is basically the same weight as the TP9 but a lot smaller. Even more so with their mini mac. The M11 is known for being light because it had to pass the AW ban back in the day. Masterpiece is known for incredibly good clones, I'm not sure why you say they are bad.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj To answer your first question? Yes and I was throughly unimpressed though amused by the high ROF. As for your comparison ? Pretty sure ya don't want to go there : a MAC 11 in *380 ACP* is of roughly similar weight to a TP9 in *9mm NATO* but even then ? The MAC 11 in a lesser caliber is still *over half a pound heavier for ZERO benefit gained.* and this is notably Before any modifications or the addition of a brace to the MAC 11. But even weight and general dirth of viable accessory options for the MAC 10 & 11 notwithstanding? *What you have presented here is a bit of a bit of a facetious non-argument driven by personal investment.* As for masterpiece arms? They could not even solve the trigger slap issue.. Their "solution"?: They put a cheap piece of aquarium pump hose over the trigger. Truly the mark of a well made firearm.. cheap plastic tubing placed on the gun in the most Bubba of manners to solve a problem which can be actually solved by a fairly low ammount of time in AutoCAD. The MAC 10 and MAC 11 in their original open bolt full auto design specifications were passably adequate for their era.. *That era was 40 years ago.* They still make for great range toys, but are sorely lacking as a viable PDW solution. You can press them into that role, I am not saying it's "impossible", bit it's a lot like having a Ford Model T as adaily driver. It's foolish, really not recommended and just not up to the modern day task and purpose. Enjoy it all you like, I'll gladly encourage such, but to say that it's a viable "Cheap PDW" in this age is a stretch too far. By the time you are done with modernizing updating and in some cases of Masterpiece Arms occasionally spotty work repairing that MAC clone to fit the purpose? You would have spent far less money, effort and time on even a braced traditional pistol or braced large frame semi auto like a PSA AK V, or a shorter pistol caliber AR 15.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj as an addendum and to reduce "wall-o-text" post length: the 9mm version of the MAC 11 ? It has a heavier bolt than the .380 ACP variant and being direct blowback? Trying to compare it to the rotating barrel of the TP9 does the MAC 11 9mm zero favors. The TP9 is lighter and has less recoil. Yet again however : if you like the MAC? Sure ,have a blast with it. But it's just not a good viable suggestion for the role of a serious hard use PDW as it have been outclassed even by the humble (but shockingly viable) Ruger PC charger pistol with a folding brace.

Also ….. a brace liked this allows me to have a more capable weapon doing executive protection in a state that limits me to using pistols and prohibits me from using rifles ….. I can argue an AR pistol ….. but it’s hard to argue against a Glock pistol
Since the pistol is pretty much dedicated to the brace, I wonder if the red dot mounts that mount to the slide back plate/rear sight dove rail would actually be better. They have a slight rise but not as much as that 1980's scout/race mount abomination. Strike Industry G-SURF comes to mind as an option. Although it'd obviously limit NV use...
It's cool but personally I think it's use would be best for someone who actually uses the brace like the ATF wishes we would. Or maybe for when you are shooting at a target a fair distance (for a pistol) away and can take the time to unfold it and shoulder it in order to get another point of contact - giving a bit more stability for the shot. I think best pairing would probably be with something like a Glock 40 for when out in hog or bear country because it looks like you can still fire the pistol if you were being charged at even with the brace folded.
for me this kind of thing is "i like the idea of doing PCC/""CQB"" shit with a short gun, but i'm not going to spend the money to get into one of those." kind of like how for a while every PCC had to take glock mags, to save you money on mags. this PCC is kind enough to take glock mags AND GLOCKS, thus saving you money on mags and guns. even for backpacking, even for truck gun type use or something, i wouldn't want something like this, it's just too flexy. maybe they'll come out with one that seems more stable, especially the optic mount. they need a mag holder with the optic rail integrated.
What is the point of that pointy piece of plastic that intrude up at the end of the brace? Is it there for a legal reason? If, I would Dremel it out and put tape on the top.
I assume it's there to help you unlatch the brace, but it actually doesn't work. You have to unlatch the brace by pushing the bottom. Very weird design element.
@@Hoplopfheil Huh, if that is the case... then I would try to remove it with Dremel tool and see if it somewhat improve it. It won't solve the issue with the sight picture but I think you would at least benefit (very little if none) from not getting poked in the face with that thing.
@@Mryodamiles I'd be veeeerrryyy careful of that. The fucktards at the ATF might look at that as altering it from it's originally manufactured "brace" design and kill your poodles. And, yes, they HAVE already hit people for even mildly altering their braces. Assholes...
It's supposed to help you flip the brace out from the folded position and it could if you pull on it hard enough but you still have to go upward to unhook it from the latch. Personally, I think it looks cool, almost like the dropship from Aliens.
No biggie. When you grasp the gun pull up to disengage. Use the tab to swing into place. Use tab as an anchor point when shouldering. Even if just for reference. You don’t have to be in contact. Try it in the dark. Or with your eyes closed. Works well. All tactile. Not tactical.
Hi, tx for the video. Wanted to ask regarding the suggested hight for the romeo5 on the 20/20. I have it too. And can't decide if use the low connector or the high one
having rocked the flux raider for the sig p320 since almost day one yea i rock it as a micro PDW around the farm I usually carry it on the belt in a holster i had made holster tho for winter I got a leather shoulder holster and kinda like it like that for tactical use i go 80s secret service with a single point sling the point is it is a defensive weapon and is small and quick to deploy while having the advantages of a "brace" plus it is based off the the p330 my carry pistol of choice tho i had to wack off the safety lever warranty be dammed
While I'm not normally into these kinds of mods, I would like to see the arm brace replaced with a Glock 33 round magazine. It's not like it's easily concealable anyway, lets plug 3x 33 rounder's into that bad boy, and mount a suppressor on it. 99 round's plus one in the chamber all in one package.
I just wonder why no one has come up with a 16-18" barrel upper Carbine set-up. Kind of a Roni with rifle barrel to keep ATF happy. And one to fit a Sig P320. It might be ridiculous, but that's what most PCCs are designed for: the use of the same ammo/magazines as your sidearm.
Help!!! What conversion kit is best for my needs?? I'm set on the micro roni for now but I'm open t any brain tickling. Im going to make it simple , in south africa its alot easier to get a license for a handgun and a bolt action rifle than for a self loading carbine. Thus all the continuous loops one has to jump through its just not worth it for me personally to go the Assault Rifle route, if i could id go with a good old fasioned reliable Galil. So I'm stuck with a handgun, im happy , i can defend myself and my family , but now with a possible looming genocide at our doorstep it takes things up a notch . That and the fact that i want my daughters to be able to shoot from a young age + my love for simplistic modular logistics has got me set on one platform , one model firearm, one type of magazine, one type of ammo and the good old 3rd gen G17 is the platform i chose , i can own up to 4 fire arms without any special "status" thus my idea is for me and the wife to each eventually have 3X G17 and a bolt action rifle of the same model, but not sure about the calibre or model yet. Our kits will be identical and will consist of the following, it will be one G17 as a sidearm , one G17 in a conversion kit used as our primary firearm. We will each or just one of us be lugging around the bolt action rifles for 700m+ ranges when going into hiding in nature as we have wide open slightly hilly plains . The 3rd G17 we each have will also be in a conversion kit and it wil be with one of our daughters , we have 2 girls so it works out perfectly. That's 4 firearms each and a complete "defensive starter pack" with good built in logistical support. That is the end goal but for now finances have me limited to just one G17 and we getting a conversion kit asap so the kids can also hold and use the firearm proficiently when im away as currently my 10yearold daughter is a bit skinny and unstable to fire the G17 in handgun format, she can rack it though 👏👍
Yes. I have both. Put the Endo on a G17. Works great with a KAK blade. Even though adjustable is not as compact. Endo is very light. So is 20/20. Both work well. 20/20 more concealable. With the bungee like wearing a shoulder holster.
Question, when mounting and remounting the gun, how close to zero will an optic on the rail stay? I am trying to make a decision on if I should mount on the pistol or the rail.
I think the point of these pistol chassis is that they are nearly as effective as a purpose built PCC, but at a fraction of the cost (assuming you already own the corresponding pistol). Why pay $800 for a whole other gun that shoots Glock mags like your Glock? When you can spend sub $200 on a chassis for your Glock? I think that's the main philosophy of this system.
PDW for a 12 year old IPSC competitor? it ain't a JP AR9 but if you need your kid to have 33 rounds plus a spare mag on it right there ion a backpacked sized fight kit...
Alright. I'm super debating on getting this and using a 22lr.conversion kit. Please tell me you tried it and it works well with little to no blowback from.the chamber.
A 10mm in this chassis is really tempting as far as backpacking. Really modernizes the "game" gun aspect. That's how I'm looking at it.
That’s exactly what I’m using mine for. I’ve hunted feral hogs with mine. The 20/21 works fantastic with the optics rail and the available mag pouch.

James who?
Hop is in a place too cold to wear shorts.

For me It’s a stable home defense platform with low concussion in a small wooded house
I’m gonna plead personal preference when it comes to the recover tactical brace 😂. It works for me just fine. I’m glad you did an update video on it. The red dot mount helps a lot
There are no situations where this couldn’t be switched with a regular pcc but like you said, it’s affordable and if you have an extra Glock, why not 🤷🏾♂️.
I would definitely take the recover over an UZI, MP5, UMP9, Vector, or other large SMG platforms that basically are the same size as a blackout SBR.
can't bury a cheekbone if you don't have one
*grabs hammer*
It amazing how well this works if you use it as a brace instead of a stock. You can't seat it like a rifle butt. Grip it as close to a normal shooting grip as possible. Draw the pistol towards your chest while keeping the same sight picture... when it makes contact near your collarbone, that's your stance... or it just don't fit you. Great channel, great vids.
Phenomenal and intelligent straight up review of the Recover 20/20.
Have you got to hike with this kit compared to carrying a pistol? Literally the only application I can think of besides a mall cop range toy.
@@touge242 Nah, was just setting it up as a fun around the house gun, and while I would have carried it, turns out the idea needs more work [lighter springs, primarily] before it's functional enough to trust as a defense gun.
Still damn cool looking though, nobody can fault it on sheer style.
What can it be used for?
A PDW pistol in states where you can't own anything with a stock, outside of a classic shotgun.
For me, this makes an excellent PDW for work. I modified the brace with wood and a cap to make it into a proper stock. To use the Iron sights, you have to Dremel off the flap
Why anyone would buy this over an MCK is beyond me. . .
@@Win7ermu7e consider it an 80% smg accessory. If you have an auto backplate, as I do, it can be finished into a deployable smg using a Glock 17L, Enforce WML and wood/ tape for the stock. Nice combo for my hunting backup! I already have one for my Glock 19 style Strike 80 and love it!
Or an empty chamber.

The Israeli made Micro Roni from yrsinc has a trigger guard like you're talking about
FAB KPOS scout has a foregrip on it that folds to cover the trigger
Someone worked out that you can remove the trigger guard from the paddle holster that is sold with the kit and run that on the chassis by itself. It's a small c clip style of block that's held on by friction on the guard so you can attach some cord to it to make ripping it off easier or attaching it to your lack or whatever. An on board safety would be better but it's doable for some

I have no trouble using the iron sights . You do have to adjust your shooting tech. The same way as when you shoot a Keltec Sub 2000. And the brace does not hurt when I shoot it as one reviewer whined about. And you will be more accurate at longer range . I like it .
Hmmm... G40/G20 and a large frame brace, with the optic, might be a legit, no BS, micro PDW. I wasn’t sold before, but now... maybe.
I was just thinking that.
A G20 with a 6" compensated barrel with the 20/21 brace coming out in January will definitely be quite a powerhouse PDW.
Audio is great very good points. Really appreciate it thank you.
Glad you finally did an update with one of the extras.

@@Mitsurugi2424 nah, but it isn't for anything crazy, definitely a quick acquisition cqb use
To get me to smoosh my face into any protruding nub is going to cost at least 25 rounds of 9mm at today’s exchange rate.
What a great review! Thank you for all the great videos man!
Glock 20 pistol hunting might become a legit option for longer shots that 50 yards with this set up.
This will probably be tucked into my computer bag I carry to work every day...or for the wifey at home. Willing to try it out anyways.
Crazy idea… cut the brace off and you got a race gun optic mount with holster option. Make it metal. Fix the flex, and option for rmr/pic mount. Save on milling the slide, still have irons, and don’t have to waste money on changing holsters if you change optics or lights.
Excellent vehicle gun setup
They fixed all of these issues with their new Recover Tactical P-IX.
LOL sure they did, that thing is a disaster.
Had mine (20/21 Kit) for a few weeks. I like it allot. It's become my "garden gun".

The secret Hop channel.
It's not a very good secret
This seems great! Very low weight compared to Micro Roni
I got a tiny person to shoot it. He did not like it.
You either have a 9mm PDW or you have an adapted pistol which ranges from "uncomfortable but handy /practical", all the way to "Useless piece of Tacti-Crap /Snake Oil".*
It's a LOT like Night Vision Devices.. you can have good, you can have cheap, but you're not getting both, you have to pick One.
*What you have presented here is a bit of a bit of a facetious non-argument driven by personal investment.*
As for masterpiece arms? They could not even solve the trigger slap issue.. Their "solution"?: They put a cheap piece of aquarium pump hose over the trigger.
Truly the mark of a well made firearm.. cheap plastic tubing placed on the gun in the most Bubba of manners to solve a problem which can be actually solved by a fairly low ammount of time in AutoCAD.
The MAC 10 and MAC 11 in their original open bolt full auto design specifications were passably adequate for their era.. *That era was 40 years ago.*
They still make for great range toys, but are sorely lacking as a viable PDW solution.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj as an addendum and to reduce "wall-o-text" post length: the 9mm version of the
MAC 11 ? It has a heavier bolt than the .380 ACP variant and being direct blowback? Trying to compare it to the rotating barrel of the TP9 does the MAC 11 9mm zero favors.
The TP9 is lighter and has less recoil.
Yet again however : if you like the MAC? Sure ,have a blast with it. But it's just not a good viable suggestion for the role of a serious hard use PDW as it have been outclassed even by the humble (but shockingly viable) Ruger PC charger pistol with a folding brace.

I am going to do a thru-hike of over 1,000 miles. With this, I can settle on bringing a single pistol for both self defense and small game hunting.
I wanna see hop review a p30 and some more mid 2000s guns and give his thoughts on how they aged
This would be good for bear country in 10mm
hey Hop, can you get the B&T USW Glock chassis over there in the US of A?
It's cool but personally I think it's use would be best for someone who actually uses the brace like the ATF wishes we would. Or maybe for when you are shooting at a target a fair distance (for a pistol) away and can take the time to unfold it and shoulder it in order to get another point of contact - giving a bit more stability for the shot. I think best pairing would probably be with something like a Glock 40 for when out in hog or bear country because it looks like you can still fire the pistol if you were being charged at even with the brace folded.
for me this kind of thing is "i like the idea of doing PCC/""CQB"" shit with a short gun, but i'm not going to spend the money to get into one of those."
kind of like how for a while every PCC had to take glock mags, to save you money on mags. this PCC is kind enough to take glock mags AND GLOCKS, thus saving you money on mags and guns.
even for backpacking, even for truck gun type use or something, i wouldn't want something like this, it's just too flexy. maybe they'll come out with one that seems more stable, especially the optic mount. they need a mag holder with the optic rail integrated.
Why am I just finding out you had another channel. On a obscure accessory no less lol
Can u give a new review on this setup and/or versus their PXI version and/or micro roni??
Seems like a winner
Why the brace and not a stock wouldn’t the spare mag holder/ vertical fore grip make it a NFA item already?
If there’s an update to be had, I think it’d be cool
Try it out with the check rest and extended back stock on it .
I've been thinking this is the best as a BUG for the team member with the Shotgun as a primary.
i wonder if this works on a glock with the fun switch on the back plate?
What a great review. I think you talked me out of buying this
Now I want to get one of these
You have to cut off the top flap with a Dremel to use the iron sights
It's meant for short people
While I'm not normally into these kinds of mods, I would like to see the arm brace replaced with a Glock 33 round magazine. It's not like it's easily concealable anyway, lets plug 3x 33 rounder's into that bad boy, and mount a suppressor on it. 99 round's plus one in the chamber all in one package.
good info

Cool review. You guys really should protect the organs that you use 90%+ of the time you shoot guns. These lego kit guns can put an eye out.
What the hell are you talking about? Lego kit guns? It’s a brace that goes onto your Glock. Boomer.
@@nfaisnfgay lol...I own one already....and my dad is a boomer.
Hop, have you seen the 'cheek pistol' concept that Forgotten Weapons recently covered? Your criticism of the stock just reminded me of it
How much for everything there except the red dot and pistol ??
The pic rails (side and on top thre glass breaker) only accept accessories with 1 pic rail attatment slots, so most optics and such dont work!
But does this kit turn a simple Glock into an “assault pistol” in certain states? Or does it remain just an accessory?
I just wonder why no one has come up with a 16-18" barrel upper Carbine set-up. Kind of a Roni with rifle barrel to keep ATF happy. And one to fit a Sig P320. It might be ridiculous, but that's what most PCCs are designed for: the use of the same ammo/magazines as your sidearm.
Weight keeps it from cycling.
It does exist as a drop in barrel.
i would just get a slight riser on top of that thing and be good to go
6:35 how did you drop the slide? I've tried after market extended slide release levers but I still can't get it to work
Pls make a review of the Fab Defense Cobra stock.
Still like the Endo brace option tbh
Yes. I have both. Put the Endo on a G17. Works great with a KAK blade.
Even though adjustable is not as compact.
Endo is very light. So is 20/20.
Both work well.
20/20 more concealable.
With the bungee like wearing a shoulder holster.
@@bradleyweiss1089 yep! I rigged up a similar thing with bungie cord, two loops interlocked, goes over both shoulders and swings out 80s Uzi style.
Question, when mounting and remounting the gun, how close to zero will an optic on the rail stay? I am trying to make a decision on if I should mount on the pistol or the rail.
Yes would like this input as well
I think the point of these pistol chassis is that they are nearly as effective as a purpose built PCC, but at a fraction of the cost (assuming you already own the corresponding pistol).
It’s not designed to shoulder, that’s why using irons is hard when shouldered. That’s per the company
wink wink not to be shouldered.
Alright. I'm super debating on getting this and using a 22lr.conversion kit.
Please tell me you tried it and it works well with little to no blowback from.the chamber.
